Strong Potential - Part 1

Bregane walked the familiar halls quickly, showing his passcodes to the necessary guards who let him pass. Only the first guards had double checked to make sure everything was in order. Bregane walked the marble grounds of the college. After many minutes of walking, turns and twists and stairs. He finally arrived outside the office and knocked on the door.

Hoping to be received even though it was in the evening. The door unlocked and opened with magic allowing Bregane to walk inside. He walked all the way in to the office only stopping before the beautiful mahogany bench, and quickly gave a deep bow. "Great Archon! I come bearing. . . 'news' of good nature I guess." Bregane said, still unsure how to put it in words.

The Archon, a dragonfolk looked up. His ice blue eyes, and azure blue scales almost giving of a constant beautiful shimmer. With the scaly and pointy head of a dragon most dragonfolk had and the rest of the body being humanoid but with scales instead of skin.

After waiting a few moments for the good news, the Archon opened his mouth - "Well? What are these good news?" his voice almost like silent thunder as he spoke. There was no anger or hostility in his voice, only a kind voice. But in front of such a power most people had a hard time realizing such minor things.

"The child entrusted to my training..." Bregane started not knowing how to continue. "Is he unable to become a proper mage? Is he good at what he does?" The Archon tried completing the sentance for him when he had stopped talking, growing a bit frustrated. "Well man! Out with it!"

Bregane swallowed really loudly and looked the Archon in the eyes. "My lord, he knows how to blade cast with only a month of training." He finally completed his sentance almost stuttering every word.

The Archon stood up slowly and scratches his scaley head for a few moments. "I guess we have another genius on our hands..." The archon trailed off leaving Bregane flabbergasted. "But my lord he is soon only 18 years old, and he figured out such a hard discipline." The archon waved his hand motioning for Bregane to be quiet.

"Some people that are geniuses make plenty of good from the start, others are geniuses in certain subjects and completely hopeless in others, only time will tell. But when his months with you are completed and Lady Tere'he is done with her apprentice you shall both send them here so that they can continue their studies at the college!" The archon stood almost 2.5 meters tall looming over Bregane.

Bregane nodded. "Your wish is my command my lord!" Bregane bowed again and turned around to leave, he reached the door and the Archon spoke again. "Bregane, please call me by my name when we are in private." He said with a draconic smile.

Bregane turned around to the Archon and nodded his head. "Yes I am sorry Lord A- Vazal!" Bregane managed to save it at the last second but not before seeing the Archon silently smiling wider. Before taking his leave.

"An interesting candidate among many indeed!" Vazal took a look at his folder that contained all the interesting candidates and sighed. "So much work so little time, eh Alsian!" He quietly said to himself before sitting back down with a cup of nice tea.

*Meanwhile*

Samuel had just about fallen asleep when he heard a slight knock on his door. When he opened it he was met by Erica standing there with a book in her hands. "I heard from my master Tere'he that had heard from Begane that you were struggling with cantrips and I just so happened to have a book that might help with that." Erica said with a small smile while extending the book to him.

"Wow eh, Um thanks!" Samuel struggled to find the right words, he had never been given anything from what was essentially a stranger before. "Say you dont think you can help me by showing me how you do it?" Samuel asked still struggling to put the right words in place.

"Well sure I can!" Erica replied quickly. "But another day when we have more time to use a training room." She blushed a little bit with a giggle. "For the evening im way to tired!" Samuel nodded and quickly bid her goodnight.

Samuel spent some time reading the book he had been given and it was indeed something that could help him put into practice cantrips without wasting as much energy. But before long Samuel fell asleep again.

It was not too long after that Bregane returned to the academy. He quickly returned to the living quarters of the teachers and assistants. Finding Tere'he's room he quickly knocked gently on the door. Bregane heard something falling over and some swearing coming from the room.

The door quickly opened with a 'what do you want' attitude and an angry looking elven woman that quickly eased up her fierce look when she saw who it was. "I am sorry for knocking on your door so la-" Tere cut him off by placing a finger on his lips and taking him by the arm and pulling him inside her room and quickly locking the door.

Bregane knew he had to talk business fast at her sudden gesture, "Both of our apprentices are likely being sent to the college after our training and the one month summer break & we are probably going to transfer with them to keep an eye on them like the other candidates!" Bregane quickly said ready for trouble to start.

Said trouble was actually Tere ripping off his clothes and pinning him on the bed and enjoying a night with little sleep.

The next morning both of them were actually quite late to the teleportation room, finding both of their respective apprentices sitting on a bench going through a theory book together. Making them both shrug at eachother. "Perhaps we should do double lessons a few times." Tere spoke quietly, making Bregane nod as they walked to their respective teleportation circles to go to their own training areas.

Erica with a small grin fixed up several clothing malfunctions on her master who had obviously been in a hurry and forgotten 'some' details on her clothing.
