03: Dinner Party

"Momma! I'm home!" I shouted as soon as I entered our house.

I caught her preparing an apple pie in the kitchen. I put my bag on the sofa and hop myself on the counter island to look at it.

"It smells delicious, Momma," I complimented her.

She smiled and pinched my nose. "Of course, my dear. By the way, how's your school?" Momma asked.

"Still a school, Momma. Can I take a bite?" I said while pointing at the apple pie that she cooked. She pick a fork and took a small piece before bringing it into my mouth. "You're apple pie is the best pie ever!" I said while raising my hands in the air. Momma just laugh and muffled my hair.

"Changed your clothes already. We're going to your Aunt Thea's house after you Daddy arrive."

I nodded and run to my room to change myself. I picked the mint green dress to wear and brush my long hair. Momma said earlier that Aunt The will be holding a dinner party at her house because Uncle Nisco, her husband and Liam's dad, has been promoted to his work. They wanted to celebrate it and they invite us to join them. Well...we've been treating each other as a family ever since.

I was still putting a powder in my face when I heard the sound of Daddy's car outside. I drop the powder and rush down to greet him. As soon as he sees me. he started to laugh and pointed at my face. I crossed my arms across my chest and pouted.

"You look like a snowman, Honey." Momma approached me and wipe the powder off my face. "Let's punish daddy later for laughing at you," she whispered and I giggled before looking back at daddy.

I heard him cough and walk towards me. "I heard it. Then I won't give this to you." He raised the thing that he was hiding on his back.

My jaw dropped and my eyes widen when I saw that it was the yellow scarf that I was asking him to buy. I immediately grabbed it in his hand and give him a soothing hug. Momma shook her head at my sudden betrayal at her. Momma just speak to tell us that we should go to Aunt Thea's house.

When we arrived at their house, my eyes settled on the bunch of food on the table. Momma and Daddy went to Uncle Nisco and Aunt Thea to greet while I left here in the living and walk towards the table to look at the food. All the it were looked delicious and she can't help my mouth but to watered at the sight of food in front of me.

"I thought...no pets allowed here?" I heard Liam's voice behind my back and my eyes automatically rolled in 360 degrees.

I turned around to look at him and give him a judgemental look.

He was wearing a white long sleeves matching it with a jumper pants and black shoes. He's arching his brows at me and open his arms open to brag his outfit.

I snorted and crossed my arms across my chest. "Don't brag. You look like a chimpanzee in a suit."

"And you looked like a koala in a dress," he said back.

"At least koala are cute."

"Not with you, Cass."

We're both insulting each other with anything that we thought. This is how we talk if we're just alone. There will be a times that I can't stand him and ended up strangling each other. If we're in an animated scene, you can see the lightning coming out on our eyes and I am wishing to have a powers to make him vanish in this world.

"Are you fighting again? And all this time we thought that the two of you are best friends," Aunt Thea said when they went towards us.

"Says who?"

We start glaring at each other when we both asked the same question. I also hate if we have the same idea in our mind. It makes me feel connected with him and that was gross.

"O' yes. I remembered that were best friends," Liam muttered.

"It's friends. Just friends," I corrected him.

The oldies just watching us while fighting. They won't bother to stop us since no one with the two of us grabbing each other's hair.

"And here I am also hoping that they could still hug each other," Momma said making themselves laugh.

"Just like when they are still small. Can you do it for a second? We'll just take a shots," Aunt Thea said.

I moved away from them before they could force us to do it. That was against my will.

After they are done Making fun with us, we started the dinner. I sat in between my Momma and Daddy and I make sure that I wasn't setting in front Liam. But we're still the topic of our dinner. It was more likely a dinner to talk about both mine and Liam's life rather than to celebrate Uncle Nisco's promotion.

"If you remember when they were 5 years old. They used to play at the backyard—" Momma was suddenly cut off from what she was saying when all of us heard the sound of their doorbell.

Liam stood up to check who had just arrived. I make my self busy eating those food that making my stomach roared. Momma said that she invite someone to also join them in the dinner. I was just surprised to see Madam Lesly behind Liam.

"Madam Lesly!" I shouted and went down on my chair to greet her with a hug.

Since the day that I had receive a prophecy from her, I always went to her house to visit her and also watching her every session. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to visit her this past few months because I also promised to Momma and Daddy that I will focus on my study.

"I missed you, Madam Lesly!"

"Me too, Cassidy. I missed your presence in my house," she said and hug me back. She pulled away from my hug and caressed my hair. "So how are you? Did you find already the guy who got your first dance?" she asked, teasing me about the guy in the prophecy.

But something got my attention. Did I heard it wrong or she really said the word 'got'? Is she pertaining that I already meet that guy?

"What do you mean by 'got'? Did you see a vision?" I asked.

Liam's coughed which suddenly turning our attention to him. "Maybe Madam Lesly use the wrong sentence. No one even got your first dance, remember?" he said.

Madam Lesly nooded. " O' sorry, dear. I was getting older and I usually misused my sentence," she said agreeing to what Liam's said.

It's still weird. Everyone also agreed to Liam and also said that maybe I got it wrong. I think something was off here.
