The Golden Chain

Athanasia Gruwéigh, who graduate with the highest honor at the most prestigious university in Glovarno and was recognized as the best doctor against poison, decided to stay at her home, the golden forest and met a chained man in the middle of it. Athanasia’s interest in the man grew stronger as she slowly unfolds the mysteries around him.  Marcus Parham, chained and captive inside the most poisonous forest is awaiting his death when a golden-haired woman fell into his cage. As his annoyance grew towards the woman another emotion is slowly surfacing inside him. Both are in the forest, one is chained and one is free. As they try to unlock the chain that is bounding Marcus, a series of forbidden locks was also unlocked. Misfortunes surfaced and the cost of the key is a huge prize to pay.  ----------- (ON-HOLD) She grinned happily as she looked at Marcus who was now staring blankly at her. She felt strangely happy. Tingles erupted on her body as she looked at him. She felt excited, excited to give her gifts to him, and excited to see him up close. It was a strange feeling. Maybe because she rarely see him and she was not used to being around him or she just kissed him taking care of someone trapped in the forest. "Have you missed me?" She asked as she grins at him. His expression didn't change as he looked at her blankly. Athanasia wasn't exactly surprised by the reaction so she just went near him cautiously. She didn't forget to cast a protective spell around her as she walked toward him. She needs to be cautious because he's still a dark one, who hates her kind. "Hawdy was outside again. You should take care of your fox more." She said as she slowly takes a step closer to him. "You shouldn't treat him as your bodyguard." She continued, now she's close to where his chains will allow him. Sound of chains getting dragged echoed. He stood up from his seat and he glared at her. Suddenly, he was in front of her. He moved as fast as a wind that she didn't even notice it. They stood face to face with each other. They were inches away from each other. She can clearly see the color of his obsidian eyes, his thick eyebrows, and his red lips. She can almost hear his steady heartbeat. Her heart went crazy. It pounded so fast and loud that she was afraid he can heat it. "Gifts?" She cringed and raised the bag.

Thief Pixies

Athanasia immediately grabbed her golden robe and her small bag that was hanging on her door. Before closing the door a big bag that is full of garments is peeking at her. It almost says pick me up.

She paused for a second and hesitated. With a grunt, she grabbed the bag and run through the front door, ignoring Hawdy that's asking her about the bags.

As soon as she went out, a force of strong wind welcomed her, she stumbled and almost fell to the ground. She grunted before taking a careful step. Her cloak was flying all over her face, she can't see clearly because of the cloak and the wind.

How did Dandelion not die when she stormed out of the door?! Athanasia thought to herself as she fights the strong wind that was stopping her from running.

"Dandelion!" Athanasia shouted.

She doesn't know if her voice was even heard behind the loud thunder that is echoing throughout the forest.

"I made sure to stock up on those honey." She mumbled to herself as she carefully took a step down on the slippery ground.

The ground was not all wet and muddy, staining her clothes and shoes as she walks. Athanasia looked at her black shoe that was light brown before. She sighed at the sight of her newly purchased shoe, it was pricey but it has the quality but now it looked like a shoe that was worn by a warrior after a battle.

The harsh wind toned down a little. Relief flooded her entire being. She needs to find Dandelion fast but the part of the forest where the pixies are staying is pretty far from their home.

It's not as far as Marcus's jail, that she will visit after finding Dandelion but it is still pretty far. Worry filled her and her stomach turned into knots. She just hopes that Dandelion's wings are strong enough to withstand the harsh wind.

She looked around to find a glimpse of Dandelion or pixies. She was sure that Dandelion hasn't gone far yet because she is not fast as her. Even though she lived in the forest, isolated from the world, she is still an enlightened one and that is a fact no one can prove wrong. She has the speed of an elf that is close to a vampire's, the instinct of a wolf, and the eyesight of an elf. No fairy can beat her in a chase, especially because she's in her territory.

She used her string and climbed a tree to get a better view of the ground. She plans on traveling through the trees and she hopes that she'll reach the pixie's home or at least see Dandelion as she travels above the ground.

She started jumping from one tree to another as she looks below. It is pretty dangerous, considering the harsh wind but it is the only way to see Dandelion and her being the great adventurer felt a thrill as she jumps from one tree to another while fighting the wind.

Pretty sure it is around here, she thought as she looked below the tree where a cave is hiding behind a huge amount of bush. Athanasia looked at the amount of bush with a blank face.

How can she enter such a thick bush?

They are definitely paranoid, those pixies are if not the most paranoid, and scaredy cats creatures are just second to none. Athanasia frowned, holding the hood of her cloak while trying to sneak a peek inside the bush.

"Dandelion?! Flora?! Pixies!" She shouted towards the bush.

Anyone that can see ger now will think that she's shouting at some innocent bush. Well, the bush is not that innocent as it concealed the pixie who stole their honey and caused Dandelion to potentially kill herself.

Her temperature rises as her irritation grows. Her golden eyes glowed as she glared at the thick bush that has no sign of movement at all.

"I will poison you guys to death if you don't talk to me!" Athanasia said in irritation.

The bush moved very slightly. She watched carefully and waited for a pixie to come out. There, on the left side of the bush popped a head of a pixie. With her hair standing all over the place, the pixie looks terrified as she looks at her glowing eyes.

"H-hello Athanasia. Wha-at do you want from us?" The pixie that she doesn't know the name asked.

"Where is Dandelion and who stole our honey?!" Athanasia asked the terrified pixie.

The pixie flinched and hesitantly looked back. Athanasia glared at the pixie that seems to be communicating with whoever it is inside the bush.

"She-she's here! Dandelion is here!" The pixie blurted out when she saw her glare.

Murmurs of small voices inside the bush were heard before the pixie decided to create an opening enough for her to peek inside.

Inside the bush is a weeping fairy Dandelion who's eating her honey. Pixies are surrounding her while trying to comfort her.

Athanasia rolled her eyes from irritation and she breathed a sigh of relief. Dandelion's wings are still intact and she seems to not have any scratch on her that made Athanasia's worry go.

"Why are you crying? Let's go home." She tried to talk to Dandelion.

"Why should I? You stole my honey!" Dandelion said as glared daggers at her.

Athanasia looked at Dandelion, awestruck by what she just said. When did she steal her honey?! She knows that it is important, especially because Dandelion is a fairy and her sweet cycle can occur at any time. She doesn't even like sweets!

It's probably the pixie's fault, Athanasia thought and she glared at the pixies. Her blood pressure rosed as her face turned red.

This lying little piece of creature will get it today! she thought, fuming with anger.

"I didn't do it! They are obviously lying!" She defended herself while still looking through the hole.

"Do not lie to me!" Dandelion shouted as she raised her hand towards her.

Green light emits from her hand and Athanasia was too late to react because she was already sent flying down the mountain because of the green coming from Dandelion's hand.

Some pixies who were with her were also thrown due to the magic that Dandelion released. She felt her body falling down slowly as she gazed at the dark skies.

She shouted as she fell. A fairy's sweet cycle is never good!

I'm working with the contract and I'm having a hard time because I don't have any valid IDs. I'm also working on a book that I will enter in spirity award. It'll be so much different from this book but I hope you'll support it.
