The Goddesses Prophecy of the Alpha

Erick didn't even know werewolves existed, let alone that he was one. As he is thrown into that world, he finds himself at the center of both a murder plot and an ancient prophecy. Can he find a way to survive and fulfill the prophecy? Rhian his mate comes crashing into his life while running from her own set of dangers. Will their union derail everything or be the solution they are looking for?  The officer leaned in over the desk towards the intake nurse. They both continued to glance in his direction as they spoke in hushed whispers. An irritated Erick smirked, giving them a slight wave to acknowledge he knew they were staring. Even though they were across the room and attempting to speak quietly, Erick heard every word. He was baffled at this sudden improvement in his hearing; it was as if their voices were magnified. "Yes, we found him wandering out of the woods. He couldn't explain his lack of clothes or what had happened to him." The nurse replied, "Don't you find that suspicious knowing what last night was? Do you think that maybe he was unaware he was changing?'' The officer quickly cut her off, "Of course I suspected it! Why the hell do you think I brought him here instead of Memorial hospital?" The nurse just nodded as she looked down and began to type in her report. "My biggest question is it's as if he has no idea what happened. Does he not know what he is or what he is going through? Please make sure you have security and keep an eye on him. Something just feels off to me." The officer looking directly at Erick noticed how wide his eyes were watching the two of them speak. Could he hear their conversation?     What in the world were these two talking about? The shocking appearance on Erick's face twisted into a confused expression. What is this change they are talking about, and what do they mean what he is? He is a man. What other possibility is there? Feelings of anger and rage began to overwhelm him. He had felt all along that the officer's demeanor was off, like he knew more than he was saying. Erick acknowledges that his explanation for what happened lacked plausibility, but he was just trying to find some reasonable interpretation of the situation. What did that man know? Did he recognize Erick but how? It's not like he ever had a criminal record?     Erick brought his hands up to his temple and put pressure along both sides as he squeezed his eyes closed tightly. His feelings were overwhelming enough, but this stabbing headache was not helping him think clearly. Why did it feel like fire was coursing through his veins? Argh, he screamed internally, overcome with agony. His gripe along his temple tightened, and his eyes snapped open as he felt a trickle of blood where his nails had pierced his skin; like the night before, his vision went black, and he felt himself collapsing to the floor.     The officer who had never taken his eyes off Erick was suddenly running over to him. "Shit!" The officer witnessed the golden glare in his eyes during the brief moment they opened. He knew the fears in their suspicions were correct as he rushed to his side. "Get a gurney and the restraints now!" He roared in the direction of the nurse who was already scrambling to assist him.

Confusion

**Rhian's POV**

"What do you mean the prophecy has been mistranslated all these years? How could they have gotten it wrong? Why was so much information left out? I mean it makes sense why the Goddess would choose you. Wait, we are going to outlive our kids?..."

I walked forward and took both his hands in mine. "Breath, you are rambling. Let's take one thing at a time, okay?"

He nodded.

"One word was mistranslated but that lead to an entirely different interpretation of the meaning. Think about it though, there are a lot of headstrong arrogant alphas in our history. Is it any surprise they weren't inclined to leave something this important to a woman?"

"That is ridiculous if the details about me hadn't been so specific how easily good this have all been missed? Was it really that important to them that they assumed only an alpha could be the one to save them?"

I brought him closer and hugged him, "I can't answer for those that came before us. What I can say is I am glad that we are in this together. Maybe there is a reason it has taken so long for the prophecy to come true."

"Can I admit I am a bit relieved that this isn't solely on my shoulders? I was really feeling guilty especially after Eliza took you the only reason you were in this mess was because of me." His eyes were sullen.

I looked up at him, "No matter what, I would have always been there for you. We are a team, always and forever." I leaned up and kissed his nose.

"Can we circle back to something else you said? We are going to outlive our children?"

I turned away, scared to face him and see the disappointment on his face. "That is what she told me. I am sorry I took that choice from you. What it came down to was either scenario we had our children involved.

Knowing I was able to affect their future for the better and not doing anything about it would have wrecked me. How would I have been able to live with myself knowing I had the power to give them a better life and didn't because I was being selfish?"

He walked up behind me and put his arms around me. "I can't fault you for your choice. I just want you to know you would have had my support no matter your decision. I love you so very much, and I can tell you that there is no one I would rather have as the mother of my children.

Without them even being here you sacrificed for their well-being. Knowing that in order for their lives and the lives of future wolves to be better, you would subject yourself to the unimaginable heartbreak of knowing you would watch your children die one day."

I turned so I could wrap my arms around him as well. With my head against his chest, the weight of the revelation hit me. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. He held on tighter as I began to tremble and the flood of emotions caused me to sob.

We stayed there for what seemed like hours as waves of emotion overtook us over and over again. In the end, it was quite a cathartic release of the emotions we had held at bay while we were forced to deal with more pressing matters. Eventually, Erick pulled away and wiped the tears from my face.

"As much as I wish we could stay here I think we need to go check in with Samuel. We should figure out the status of our prisoners and where we go from here."

He was right, as nice as it was to be alone there were still things that needed to be dealt with. "Do you mind if we keep the recent revelation to ourselves for a little while? I just want things to settle a bit before we shake things up again."

"I understand, we can stay quiet about it for now, but you know eventually it will have to come out."

I nodded and we walked hand in hand towards Samuel's office. He was standing at his desk on the phone when we entered but he waved us in and we took a seat and waited for him to get off the phone.

"Yes, it has been confirmed. I agree we should schedule the council to visit so we can make an introduction. Yes sir. That sounds great. We will have everything ready for next week. I look forward to seeing everyone. OK, yes, OK, sounds good see you then. Goodbye"

Samuel sat down and looked at us. "Apologies, that was the head of the werewolf council. He apologized for being occupied and unable to personally help this past week. He sent his congratulations on defeating Eliza. We have arranged an emergency council meeting next week.

We need to introduce you to the rest of the council board. As well as, discussing our next steps for the future now that you have been discovered as the prophecy alpha. It will be helpful if everyone is on the same page going forward."

"Um, that sounds important, but, can I ask a question? What or who exactly is the werewolf council? I am sorry sometimes this all seems so unfamiliar to me and I wish I knew more about our species." Erick looked uncomfortable and embarrassed as he spoke.

"I am terribly sorry, I do forget this is all new to you sometimes. The werewolf council has representatives from all over the globe. There are a total of 15 members they are the governing body over all of the werewolves. You will officially be inducted as not only a member but the leader next week."

I put my hands up, "Whoa, isn't that moving awful fast? I feel like it would be better if this transition happened a bit slower. I wasn't even aware of a council moments ago and now I am going to be in charge?"

Samuel stood up and walked over, "I understand this seems like a lot, although, I assumed you may react this way. I arranged it so that you could choose a personal advisor to help guide you through this process for the following year. With them and the help of your mate, Rhian I have full confidence in you."

"Will you be my advisor?"

"I have far too many responsibilities for that to be a wise choice. Besides, I am a current member of the council. However, I do have two suggestions that I am sure would make great advisors to you. Doc or David, both you have grown to trust and rely on, and I believe would help you make sound choices. Alternatively, Rhian may have suggestions from her previous pack that she trusts that may make a viable option."

I turned to Rhian, "What do you think?"

She placed a hand on my leg, "I have faith in your decision, but I agree Doc and David would both be wonderful options. Perhaps, you should actually ask if either would be willing before you make a choice."

"True, I wouldn't want to force either of them to do something they aren't interested in." I turned to Samuel, "Do you happen to know where David is?"

"He hasn't spent much time away from the dungeon. He has seen it as his personal responsibility to keep an eye on my brother-in-law and nephew. He is hoping to get answers about the connection to his mate's attack."

"We will head down right away. Samuel, is there anything I should be aware of before the council visits? I can't imagine 15 powerful men would have a perfect relationship. There have to be some power struggles and hidden agendas I should know about."

"You are a very perceptive person. Another reason you really will be the best man for this job. For the most part, everyone is mainly in agreeance over the major issues. I have been quite skeptical of our European representatives over recent years. They carry an ancient mindset, including negative thoughts about half breeds. I don't have any specifics, but I would warn you to be wary."

"I understand and I appreciate your insight. If there is nothing else we are going to go find David now."

"Nothing that we can't discuss at another time. Although I would like to say Rhian it is great to see you looking so well after everything that has happened."

Rhian's cheeks blushed, "Thank you, Samuel, I am just relieved to be back here with my family."

With that we stood up said goodbye and left to find David. I really hoped he would agree to be my advisor.

Rhian is safe, Joel is locked up. Everything is wrapping up nice and tidy, or is it? Will the council visit bring about it's own set of troubles?
