The Power Temple (2)

While Lu Fang Xiu learned how to do the Water Mask. The emperor told his children about Lu Fang Xiu starting school.

When everyone except the guards was asleep. Lu Fang Xiu sit up with her legs crossed. She wanted to know what her internal energy was.

She had read Chinese novels and historical stories and wanted to try it. So she began searching inside herself.

After some time she gave up. She didn't know how and her memories didn't exactly help her either. The only thing she saw was black and different colored dots.

She decides to try to sense qi and if she did she could try to gather it to her meridians and then circulate it.

Lu Fang Xiu close her eyes and start to relax. At first, nothing happens and everything is just black, but after some time small light specks in different colors appear and shoot towards Lu Fang Xiu's body. She can't stop it as the flow of qi just continues to speed to inside her body.

Her cultivation just continues to breakthrough. When she finally stop her eyes widen. «I'm a second step Grand Wizard... How is that even possible...?»

*The 10 cultivation ranks has 10 levels each called steps. To get to the next rank one has to cultivate through all the 10 levels. It is easy to get from red to orange, but to break through after level nine orange is hard. The difference from yellow to green is like heaven and earth.

The 10 cultivation ranks:

Red - Low Wizard

Orange - Middle Wizard

Yellow - Master Wizard

Green - Grand Wizard

Blue - Wizard Saint

Indigo - Sovereign Wizard

Purple - Wizard Sage

White - Sorcerer

Black - Demigod/goddess

Black and White - God/Goddess

While she sleeps, her soul-friend regain consciousness. When he wakes up he receives Lu Fang Xiu's memories plus the things that have happened since his master got the body.

"So that's what happened. It seems my body is done since I'm awake." The so-called soul friend was actually just a beast that the scientists had made.

They called it Soul Beast since it could link its soul to another soul, but in the end, no one could tame it and it was locked away.

He was saved by Bai Fang Xiu and accepted her as his master. She named him Bai Li Yin, but she usually calls him Li Yin, Yin or Yin'er. He was loyal no matter what happened and would die happily if it was for her.

Li Yin was a big majestic beast. His body was black. He looked like half cat, half wolf.

His body was that of a hybrid between a black panther and a cheetah, his two tails was that of a wolf. His paws like a cat's.

His fur was a mix between wolf and chanther(hybrid), but it didn't look weird. Not at all.

It looked both beautiful and terrifying at the same time. His eyes reflected his master's clear ocean blue.

"I should notify my mistress of my awakening when she wakes up." With that, he stayed in her soul and waited. He was a patient being after all. He still pitied his master though.

Bai Fang Xiu. The most terrifying and sacred human being called, The Goddess Of Life and Death. Her soul transmigrated to this weak and fragile body.

After the night passed and Lu Fang Xiu woke up, she got the message from Li Yin. She was happy that he finally gained consciousness, but what should she do?

Her father might not allow her having a "pet", but she could try. She was after all his favorite daughter.

She waited for Fu Shun and Kun Ju to come. Li Yin had taken the form of a little black fox.

The moment they entered, they got shocked. Not only did the princess wake up before them, she was petting a black fox.

«Princess Yating Xiulan, what are you petting?» Kun Ju and Fu Shun walked closer. The moment Lu Fang Xiu and Li Yin looked up their cold eyes pierced them. Both eunuchs froze.

Was this really their weak, kind princess? «This is Li Yin. He's a fox.» Fu Shun and Kun Ju look at each other.

«But princess where did you find it?» Lu Fang Xiu continue to stroke his fur. «He saved me. From a scorpion.» They didn't know what to say.

It seemed like the princess had taken a great liking to the strange black fox. «We have to notify the emperor.» Lu Fang Xiu nod. They hurry out of the tent.

«Your majesty the emperor.» The eunuch gets on their knee. «What is it? Is something the matter with Zhen's Xiu'er?»

* Zhen (朕) - the royal 'We,' a personal pronoun used exclusively by the emperor to refer to himself.

They shake their head. «It is about princess Fang Xiu, but not necessarily a bad one.» Fu Shun said.

«Princess Fang Xiu has taken a great liking to a black fox.» Lu Gang Qiang was surprised.

Never had Lu Fang Xiu taken a great liking to anything. «Why?» Kun Ju hoped the emperor would allow her to keep the fox.

«The black fox apparently saved the princess from a scorpion. Princess named the fox Bai Li Yin.» Lu Gang Qiang nod slowly.

«She can keep it, but if it behaves strange kill it.» The two eunuch nod happily and hurry back to Lu Fang Xiu's tent.

While the two eunuchs were gone, Lu Fang Xiu and Li Yin talked. Lu Fang Xiu explained what was happening and details Li Yin didn't get. When the eunuchs came back they told her what the emperor had said.

* Eunuch refers to a man who has been castrated (in this case I use it as the form for servants)

Lu Fang Xiu smiled and got them to help her dress. She put on the same as she had yesterday, but didn't put so many things in her hair.

It ended with her having one long braid with green ribbons braided in her hair.

When Lu Fang Xiu was done she ate breakfast and got into the carriage with Li Yin on her lap. Lu Gang Qiang was very happy.

Seeing his daughter stroking the fox with a tiny smile on her face behind the veil. «Are you happy Xiu'er?» She looked up and nodded.

He smiled warmly at his daughter. He knew that she had been very lonely in her palace since all her brothers and sisters were in school. After they know her innate powers will they decide which class she will be in.

* Innate powers are the powers a person I born with

«What is our purpose in this world?» Li Yin understood that they were going to avenge the former owner of the body, but what about after that. «Her other wish was to protect her family and this empire, remember?» Li Yin remembered now.

It seemed like the former soul really cared about her family. Bai Fang Xiu never knew her family. Her family was killed, so she considered her underlings and friends as family.

Two days went by fast. There was only an hour left till they arrived. Currently, the emperor and Lu Fang Xiu were eating fruits. Li Yin got some grapes and blackberries from Lu Fang Xiu.

Lu Gang Qiang had taken a liking to Li Yin, even though he isn't allowed to touch anything other than his tail. Lu Fang Xiu had chuckled slightly when her father tried to pet his head.

Half an hour passed. Lu Gang Qiang had noticed some differences on the way. His daughter had stopped smiling often and her eyes looked emotionless and calm.

Her eyes usually held warmth and kindness. Her being seemed mystic even to him. He wondered what the poison had done to his little Xiu'er. He sat there in deep thoughts the rest of the way.

«The emperor of the Ming Empire, Lu Gang Qiang and his youngest daughter, princess Yating Xiulan has come to the Power Temple!» The gate opened. Lu Gang Qiang and Lu Fang Xiu get out of the carriage and walk to the temple.

«We greet the emperor and princess Yating Xiulan of Ming empire!» Li Yin laid in Lu Fang Xiu's arms. They agreed that when she was testing, he would be with Lu Gang Qiang.

They walked up the stairs to the top floor. This is the floor for the geniuses and imperial families. In the middle of the hall stood a huge power sphere.

«Please follow me, princess.» Lu Fang Xiu followed one of the monks that worked in the temple. «Please put your right hand here and then wait.»
