The God of Calamity’s Wife

Centuries ago, war shattered Asgard. Tired of living in the shadow of the Aesir, Loki and his creatures of chaos sought the respect they believed was their due. Their rebellion, however, brought only death, exile, and the fleeting victory of the Aesir. But gods cannot die forever, and Loki’s defeat came with a prophecy: the war would come again, and next time, he would be ready. Many began to question whether Odin was truly fit to rule the realms. (But that was not my concern. I am an entity of death, a Fylgia bound to the cycles of life and fate. My interest lies elsewhere—with two souls cursed by Odin to live, die, and repeat their lonely existence for eternity. Sirius and Saoirse. For centuries, I’ve watched them endure lives destined for isolation and suffering. I’ve grown tired of their pain. What if they didn’t have to be alone? What if I could give them a chance to defy fate? And, perhaps, what if I could become part of the story that I’ve shaped? These were my thoughts leading up to the beginning of this story. But meddling with destiny has consequences. I probably should have paid more attention to that war, because what I didn’t realize was, by changing one thing, a ripple would expand across the realms that nobody could have anticipated.) Sirius and Saoirse, they weren’t just any Vampire and Werewolf that could have been brought together. They are creatures that must come to terms with the demon beasts inside of them or bringing them together might just end up finishing what Loki’s children had started. author note: This story builds a bit slower at the beginning and then picks up more action when they get to Asgard, so don’t worry, this book will have 500 chapters and this is just the beginning!

17- No more running

"I said enough!" She shouted at him. "Get off my brother!"

Linus wanted to give up at this point, but he was losing consciousness. He had really lost. He looked tiredly at his sister approaching and accepted his fate. This bird boy was sucking him dry. At least he would die with honor and be reunited with his family.

Then Saoirse yanked Sirius off of him with one hand. Linus fell to the floor passing out.

"Sirius you have to stop you've gone crazy you don't know how to control your bloodlust it's been too long!"

His eyes were still black and he attempted to bite Linus again. He attempted to bite anything close to him. He scratched at Saoirse even though it hurt himself to do so.

Honestly she was surprised that he had stayed in his wolf form and hadn't progressed on to reveal his beast. She became a wolf and slashed him across the face, "wake up! Control yourself!"

Sirius didn't listen. He once again grabbed ahold of Linus. He retracted his fangs but kept his prey in his mouth and slashed back at her with an angry growl.

(Hey sorry I'm trying not to interrupt here, but I have to say, this state that Dad was in right now, he was what they call hangry. Because he literally had his prey hangin' around. Haha. Just sayin'! Fine… nobody gets my joke, well I will just keep telling the story then. Us death entities, we just view death a bit differently, and you've got to admit he was angry and hungry and all mom was doing was trying to take away his meal so yeah.)

"Let him go!" Saoirse demanded. She pulled Sirius off of Linus once again and this time tossed him over to Linda.

Then Saoirse and Sirius were fighting. He was a monster at this point, but still hadn't changed out of his wolf form. Even if his beast didn't respect the meaning of a duel. He seemed to respect the agreement of wolf to wolf. Barely.

Saoirse skillfully slashed her claws at him matching his power. Linda didn't know what to do. She watched in terror at the beasts. It was a bloodbath at this point every slash one inflicted was appearing on the other one it seemed like neither one could win. They were twin souls. This bond stuff was intense.

And then Saoirse did something that Sirius couldn't overpower. She got the idea from the full moon that was giving her a bit of extra confidence right now. She put her hand on him and said "Ithil!" It was the word for moon in the language that werewolves spoke.

She had said this to envoke a bit of help from the moon goddess, but what happened, was incredibly new to her. To the surprise of everyone, energy flowed from the moon to her body with a blast of lightning and her eyes lit up completely blue.

Sirius stopped fighting her and his beast cried out in fear as she slashed at him with her claws and he began to freeze. Ice touched his body and bound him so he couldn't move anymore.

He stopped resisting and although he was freezing she seemed unaffected as if the power came from within her and couldn't hurt her.

Then she tiredly touched the ice again and it began to dissipate, leaving Sirius unconscious back in his human form, completely asleep, his beast dominated.

Linus had woken back up at this point, and leaning on Linda, he had seen what Saoirse had done.

He watched Sirius fall to the ground and pass out. Saoirse fell on top of him tired. Pulling energy from the moon was something that only the most gifted werewolves at magic could do. He had never been able to do it before. He tried his best to get to a knee to kneel. "I relinquish my right to alpha to you my sister, I am forever in your debt, you saved my life and you also defeated him." He said pointing to Sirius who had overpowered him.

Sirius would have been able to claim his spot as alpha after this encounter but instead Saoirse had claimed it.

She tiredly got off of Sirius as she converted back into a human as well and staggered back away from him afraid she had hurt him with her power. She had no idea she could do that, she just looked at her hands in fear and then at Linus who had knelt on the ground.

"It is my birthright." She declared eventually even though she was tired. "I am the Luna of this pack and I accept. All wolves under you will now answer to me."

Linus bowed again. "Thank you for sparing my life. I apologize for my intrusion of your house."

She walked over to Sirius and lovingly picked him up and lay him on the couch in the living room. Saoirse put a heated blanket on him and he snuggled up like a baby and slept for a while. He still had wolf ears and seemed ok so she left him there for a bit and bid Linus and Linda goodbye, promising to visit them soon.

Sirius woke up a little while later and rubbed his head. It hurt a little bit.

"Hey, I'm sorry for taking it so far." He said after coming to terms with what he had done.

"It's ok." She said, "honestly, when I was a kid, I never wanted to be the Luna. I was fine with Linus being the Alpha. He's probably better at it.

"But when he was kicking you around like that, for absolutely no reason, I realized that Linus was becoming something dangerous and if we want to have peace between the werewolves and the vampires it is better this way that I rule them and you rule the vampires.

Eventually you will have to defeat your father. You can't put it off forever."

Sirius looked down when she said this and shame about what fate he was burdened with filled him.

Saoirse sighed. "I know you don't think you can defeat him and you don't want to be a killer. Being king requires hard decisions. Sometimes you will have to do things you don't want to do. You really are capable of obtaining the power to beat him if you decided to make peace with your beast."

She pointed at his heart when she said this and then she smiled. "Don't be so serious Sirius!"

He chuckled like he hadn't heard that joke of hers before.

Saoirse continued, "Let's just focus on the werewolves for now. In the end, it's important what you did today. You didn't hold back. You showed Linus not to mess with you. You gained his respect. Gaining the loyalty of those in your pack is the ultimate way to be a good king in werewolf culture. So I'm sure Linus isn't offended."

Sirius knew Linus was totally offended right now; his butt was kicked by a vampire, but he gave her his sweet toothy smile again and decided to relax a bit.

"I really do love you." He said and kissed her on the forehead. "I'm sorry I've been a coward. I have let you get hurt. You got hurt so many times today because of our bond. I wish I could spare you that kind of pain but now I know that running away is not a solution. I've run away from my job my whole life. I think I'm done running."

(Yes. This is the part that the story is about to get good, because finally Dad decided to quit being such a baby.)

"Good. Because I'll be right here beside you for whatever comes next."

This triggered thoughts to process through Sirius' mind that he hadn't wanted to process for a long time. He brushed his fingers through Saoirse's hair like he always did to calm himself and thoughts processed through his head that he hadn't wanted to cope with for centuries.

Saoirse listened to his heartbeat and closed her eyes. They sat there in the stillness for a while and she almost fell asleep when Sirius finally spoke again, startling her a bit.

"Saoirse."

"Hmmm?"

"Now that we know the location of the pack, we have a place we can go now that Alastor can't find us right? A place we can maybe get time to…..try a new approach at life?"
