Unexpected things

(MC POV, Emperor's warehouse, 3 days after previous chapter)

Light pulsed throughout the warehouse as the golden light raced at a speed that would put the fastest starships to shame.

The light illuminated the entire space, all the while circling and vibrating.

All this time, maddened laughter was heard from the light, the likes of which had never been seen before.

"HAHAHAHA!!!" I was laughing with excitement because I was a literal god in my warehouse and could do almost impossible feats.

Yes.

That was me.

My vacation was based on doing things that were impossible.

As I raced through space like a fury, I caught a glimpse of the territories I had gained through the Jumpchain choices.

Exactly one hundred and ten planets.

The first hundred planets are inhabited exclusively by humans, each with its own unique biosphere and culture. My power and influence reached every corner of this expanse and everyone here was fanatically devoted to my cause.

All planets are perfectly developed, filled with numerous miracles. Sky palaces, technological marvels and impressive architecture make the landscape enchanting. The cities are dazzling, intertwined with networks of the most advanced infrastructure.

Without fear of daemonic possession or other threats, I recreated few of the myriad wonders of the golden age of technology.

But for me, the greatest value of this sector is not its resources or technology, but its people. On these planets live people who are completely immune to any corruption and are completely loyal to me.

Their strong will and fearlessness guarantee that they will form the most elite army in the entire universe. Advanced bimechanics and training will enhance their natural talents and turn them into unstoppable warriors, ready for any challenge.

I glance at the impressive Gothic gene factory. Each room has high ceilings, filled with conveyor belts that flow through an intricate maze of machinery and technology.

They are my own space marines so I could industrialize the process as much as I wanted. This was helped by the fact that all the human inhabitants in the warehouse were completely compatible with my gene seed.

A little while longer and I'll be implanting the gene-seed into almost anything.

I've always wondered what dogs or cats with the gene seed in them would look like or even better what Dragons and Orcs would look like with the gene seed.

I feel the urge to laugh maniacally, but I suppress the urge, it's not the right time or place.

I glance at the first group on the conveyor belt.

A pre-programmed factory coordinated every step in the process of implementing the gene seed into the recruit. Equipped with monitors, medical devices and the best machines, she sent the signal that everything is ready, at the signal the recruits lined up and entered the first stage one by one.

The machines in the conveyor belt worked flawlessly, quickly and precisely, correcting imperfections and making optimized changes at the cellular level. Automated surgical robots performed complex manipulations on the recruits' bodies with superhuman precision while implanting gene seeds with ease.

I look away from the production because I am no longer interested and in flight I glance at the remaining ten planets.

None of them were inhabited by human life.

All the planets were in the same star system and only the Xenos lived there, although they were completely loyal. Each planet became home to millions and millions of inhabitants, and each new generation was a little stronger than the last.

The first two worlds would take the viewers breath away. They looked as if they were personally shaped by the goddess of life, with their indescribable beauty they exceeded the limits of imagination. The Aeldari inhabited these two worlds. In harmony with nature, these Aeldari maintained their worlds in their natural state. Forests, lakes and mountains filled the landscape.

They did not possess a single specimen of Eldar technology or even psychic knowledge. Nor did they know that there were other specimens of their kind outside the warehouse.

The only thing they knew was that I created them and that was all.

The other two worlds were inhabited by Orcs, where mushroom-like life forms covered the surface of their planets. Given that Orcs reproduce by releasing spores that quickly colonize the surrounding space, creating other Orkoid forms, this meant that the entire surface was covered with not-at-all-beautiful mushrooms.

They knew I had created them and they owned their own version of Waaagh! psychic connections. At the same time, they did not know about the existence of Gork and Mork.

They kept their typical aggressiveness and fought and killed each other and I was really surprised to find that they reincarnated into new bodies with all their memories.

The five remaining worlds were inhabited by smaller species of Xenos with a few species per planet.

Nothing special and I glance at the last planet.

The last planet was more artificial because even though it started as a normal planet, I used a large amount of asteroids and my own psychic powers to increase the size of the planet.

When I finished enlarging it, it was the size of Jupiter. Despite its size, it has Terran gravity thanks to satellites placed in orbit, which impose normal gravity.

Thanks to an impenetrable energy field, the planet is divided into thousands of regions, each inhabited by some parasitic or predatory alien species, although these species are unpredictable and incompatible with normal life forms.

I decided not to exterminate them as they could potentially be useful in the future.

The hardest part of keeping them is feeding them, but I solved that too by building and setting up a space station the size of a small earth, where millions of clones were bred to be transported and served as food. I felt a little guilty but decided to just use the clones created from the prisoners.

I still wanted to relax and laze around, but the replica I left warned me that Astropath was coming with a message.

He really had to come at a point where I started to really enjoy it.

I reluctantly leave the warehouse and take my seat.

My replica disintegrated leaving no trace of its existence.

Astropath walked into the room and he looked like most Astropaths. A green cloak with a hood over his face and unlike the others he was not blind, he had green eyes.

As soon as he saw me, he immediately fell to his knees with fanaticism on his face.

"My lord, I have a message for you," he said, kneeling.

What could this be?

"Did you follow the new protocol?" I asked.

"I am," he answered and took out a paper from his purse and handed me the letter "Everything is written."

I take the paper and read.

****

Dear Father,

I am writing this letter to you with great love and pride as I sit here on the new planet I have conquered to the Imperium, the planet is called Fenris. This place, wild and untamed, seemed to be made for me.

Man are brave and good warriors and perfectly compatible with my gene seed.

You can only imagine my surprise when I found a clan named Russ, just like me.

And they were just as surprised as I was when they heard my full name.

They are ruled by a man in his thirties, Thengir. I wouldn't have mentioned him if I didn't have to defeat all the tribe's warriors at the same time to ensure their loyalty.

In the meantime, I met a pack of Fenrisian wolves that were constantly following me and I approached them and they did not attack me but licked me.

Among them was a she-wolf with two cubs, and I got to know them she.

At that moment, I suddenly felt an unknown feeling of sadness and happiness. It was as if I met again my long-lost or dead family that I didn't know existed.

I named the wolves Freki and Geri.

The whole of Fenris is covered with dangers and aggressive predators that are fun to hunt.

Father, I want to call you here, on Fenris, to share this experience with you. I know how much you love adventure and excitement and I believe that we will never forget this hunt.

Please, father, accept this invitation, do not miss the opportunity to have a good time.

With love,

Your daughter Lemana (Lemi) Russ

****

Very interesting.

How should I answer?

I think for a few minutes, take a pen and in a minute the answer is ready.

****

Dear daughter,

I have no words to express my delight and pride as I read your letter. Your achievements on Fenris are truly amazing and your abilities combined with courage and confidence are outstanding.

The existence of Russ is, without a doubt, very interesting. As you conjure up that encounter, I feel the happiness and excitement that you felling.

Your success in uniting the Fenris and securing their loyalty is perfect. The fact that your gene seed finds many compatible candidates is nothing unusual because I have already said that certain genes that are in you that I took from the heroes of the past come from certain groups. Fenris is probably the planet where this genetic phenotype appeared in greater numbers.

Your connection to the Fenrisian Wolves is an obvious consequence of our universe merging with the Universe-that-could-have-been. Certain elements of it are likely to appear more in the future.

I am delighted by your invitation to join you on Fenris. I really enjoy the adventure and excitement it brings, and this opportunity to be with you on such a wild and untamed planet is priceless.

I gladly accept your invitation and look forward to the moment when I will be with you. I am sure that this will be an unforgettable trip that will deepen our relationship.

I'm happy for you and I'll I'm coming.

With love,

Your father, the Emperor

PS: Don't catch everything that moves, please leave something for me too, my daughter.

****

Perfectly.

"Send this" I hand the paper with the written message to my astropath.

"Yes, my lord," he replies, taking the message.

"I don't know your name, can you introduce yourself", I asked him when he was already a meter away from the door.

"I am Durant Gerg, my lord," he replied.

"Very good name" I reply with a smile and add "Transmit my orders for the fleet to turn to the coordinates I drew on the letter end. Until we get there we don't want anyone to disturb me unless it's something urgent"

"At your command,My lord!!!" he exclaimed and left.

Now that all questions are out of the way, it's time to get back to star surfing.

And we entered the Fenris arc, which will last several chapters, and then the first threat to the Imperium will come. If you see any grammar mistakes, please post it in the paragraph comment. This chapter was written only using the phone because I don't have access to a computer for the next few days, so I'm not sure there are no spelling mistakes. As always, all comments and reviews are welcome.
