Chapter 9: Underestimated

Liza took a step forward as she felt the spell on her fading. The human woman struggled as she desperately tries to hold Liza down with her magic. Liza smirked at thought of it while taking another step. The knight swung his sword at Liza, but right after he did. Liza was gone, as if she vanished in thin air.

Everything was deadly silent before a blood-curdling scream echoed through the knight's ears. He turned around to see the double welded swordsman with his throat ripped out.

The woman enchanter was laying on the ground with her guts spilling out of chest. The knight stepped cautiously before he stiffened up from something felled in front of him. He took a glance down and saw a beating heart.

The knight then started to cough up blood, it was only then he realized underneath his armor... was an huge hole where should be his heart was.

However, it wasn't there anymore, he looked down back the heart on the floor. It stopped beating, the knight collapsed onto his knees. Before he thought he lost consciousness, he saw a small green figure standing in front of him.

The knight then felt every cell in his body quivering in fear, when he heard he thought was an life and death illusion. But when he looked up at the little monster, he knew it was no illusion.

"Hey Buddy! How are doing?" Liza spoke with an amused tone in her voice.

"Say, you don't mind answering some of my questions do you? Of course not," Liza said, while the knight felt chilled nerves through out his body.

Liza grabbed a chunk of the knight's hair as she made him stare directly at her. "Was it fun? Killing my people that is. Was it fun killing monsters without a care in a world? Without worrying about survival itself?"

The knight felt the fear rushing through him faster that then any double horse carriage. "Was it funny to you to take another's life even though it was monster's? Oh why, oh why you humans can be so cruel?"

Liza's grip grew tightly as she slams the knight's head against the ground as the tone in Liza's voice turned aggressive. "Did you think we wanted this life? Did you think we wanted to be born as monsters? Did you think goblins are soulless? Because we are born ugly, we are considered as monsters?"

Liza slammed the knight's head again. "Are your only thoughts of us goblins being selfish and cowardly?! Did you think we that goblins only thoughts are killing and sex?!"

Before Liza could continue, she stopped when she realized that the knight was already dead.

'I think I went too far...'

She dropped his head on the ground before searching for items on the man, the woman and knight's body. Liza found a few things while in her search. A book from the woman, a bottle filled with green liquid inside from the man, and a necklace shaped as cross from the knight.

There were other items as well, but these three items that only items that stood out to Liza. After she was done, Liza dragged their bodies against the wall before digging three holes to bury them in.

It wasn't much but it's better that then leaving their bodies behind to get eaten by maggots. Human or not, Liza showed her deep respects towards the three fools that tried to kill her.

By using their blood, Liza created a symbol on the labyrinth wall. It was pretty awful in artistic standards, besides that is was descent. The reason behind it, is so if humans find this place that they will be aware that Runt the Demon Lord has escaped into the wide world.

A warning of sort, so the humans will stay cautious for awhile and stay in their little homes while Liza will try to reunite with Runt and her father.

It's only a matter of time, so Liza gather her 'new toys' and left to the exit of the labyrinth. Once again, it was easy for Liza. All she had to do is follow the bloody trail the three humans left behind. And even though it took three whole days, Liza finally found the exit.

However, she found something not expecting.
