Chapter 5 (Forever the Puppet )

"He might be a Savage in the arena, but in private he is just a soft-hearted man who loves his mummy."

Two soldiers Cackled at their ridicule while viewing Severus asleep on the floor.

"Vir bellica!." The soldiers hunkered, before Severus.

"Vir bellica." The soldiers bawled again, one of them rammed his spear against the chamber's door,

A frisson of fear shot through Severus, he raised his head above the floor, the left side of his mouth was smudged with dust, one of the soldiers squirted spits out of his mouth out of disgust.

"You have been summoned by the Governor"

One of the soldiers said.

Severus was still getting on his feet, his motions quavered, and all he heard were gibberish in his ears,

The soldier put the keys in the door holes, the door holes were sent clanking, afterward the soldiers drew the door apart,

Severus hasn't been attentive, when he saw the doors open before him, he gaped at it for a while and gave two glances at the soldiers before the door.

"Am I free to go?" He asked, his whole self still was shuddering a bit.

"No yet Vir bellica, the Governor has just called for you."

"Oh finally!" Severus exclaimed feeling disappointed the Governor delayed before summoning him.

The soldiers brought out shackles and bound Severus hands with them, he followed the soldiers to meet the Governor in his Chambers.

The soldiers nudged the door open, Severus found Bianchi standing before a bed in a wide room, Bianchi drew his bedding, spreading it wide all over his mattress to cover up a harlot naked in his bed.

Severus trundled into the room in chains, confident he had the right to do so without the governor's permission.

"Vir bellica!." Governor Bianchi began, he spread his short, muscular hands wide in a welcoming manner, Severus kept his emotions raw towards him, His gestures meaning only business.

"Built with time just like diamonds, once an ordinary frontier soldier to a legendary gladiator." Bianchi went on.

"Cut the praises Governor, that's not what am here for." Severus imparted his mind to the Governor,

Bianchi gave out a short light gust of air, he came a little close to Severus, looking up to the huge gladiator before him, he said.

"Freedom freedom, that's all that has been in your mind," The Governor assumed.

"We had a deal Governor, if i survive 600 days my crime of felony will be pardoned and I shall be set free" Severus pointed out.

A sharp frown appeared on his face, it sent a clear message to the Governor, Severus wouldn't listen to anything other than a discussion concerning his freedom.

Bianchi turned away from Severus and sauntered in his Chambers,

"The fame, the game, all the achievements and wealth, so you would throw them away just for your family, that consists of three only," Bianchi stated, it sent Severus gnashing at him.

The Governor went on "You are loved by all, imagine the Governor of Assisi requesting that you be paraded in the streets of Assisi to appease the people of Assisi."

Severus made a wince, showing disgust towards Bianchi's words.

"You don't even know what I have made you become"

"A puppet, a slave, a Savage" Severus replied, tears encroached his lower lid.

"I expect you to show gratitude for picking you up from the trench, and formed you with time into a diamond." The Governor pointed out.

"You have become so wicked and greedy, I demand to be let free this instant," Severus commanded, smacking his hand violently on a wooden table near him, a chalice with wine toppled and crashed to the floor,

The harlot laying on the Governor's bed came out of sleep and sat on the bed, she barely knew she had any clothes on, the bedding covered her from her hips down, the other parts were bare.

After a while, the harlot came to know she was naked and two men were standing before her, she wrapped herself up with bedding, confused whether to leave the chambers or stay.

"Let me remind you vir bellica that you are still under my control, so you better watch how you speak to me," Bianchi informed him.

"Curse those Wicked lips of yours, am declaring myself free from you," Severus said.

"You dare not step away from here," Bianchi said.

Severus moved towards the exit,

"Guards take him back to the chambers,!" The Governor ordered.

Two soldiers came in with a Lance and met Severus at the door, the soldiers grabbed his biceps firmly and tried to drag him away, Severus brought in his strength and resisted, he wiped one of the soldiers in the face, the soldiers fell into the table, it's legs shattered, the table laid flat on the floor, Severus caught the other soldier in the head, drove him to the wall and rammed his head multiple times against it, blood covered his face.

Severus threw the soldier to the floor carelessly, he stayed down breathless.

Bianchi went behind the curtains, his eyes bulged and he shivered, Severus pranced boldly towards him.

"The flea troubles the lion more than any animal," Severus said.

The door drove wide open violently, about twelve soldiers made their way into the Governor's chamber, two soldiers threw themselves at Severus, laying on his back and grappling his neck from behind, Severus twirled recklessly to shake the soldiers off his back, More soldiers jumped on his back to subdue him with their weight, the Soldiers pinned him down to the floor, Severus writhed violently to break free, he let out loud groans periodically, the soldiers bounded his legs.

Governor Bianchi came out behind the Curtains, raised his head high again, and pranced towards Severus, he reached close to him and crouched before his face,

"You have brought me great wealth Severus, I can't let you go just like that.

Take him away."

The soldiers dragged Severus along the floor away from the Governor's chamber.
