Carlin's The Kidnapper

"Here's the book" Carlin muttered with a bright smile, stretching the physics textbook in his hands over.

Taking it, Hazel squinted her eyes. Another rare textbook.

"Thank you. You did find me like you said" she smiled. She was presently putting on a mask unlike the day before she had bared her face to him.

"It's not difficult finding you. Anyway, I got to go now" Saying that, he turned around and left.

He had left another flaw. She had come to him with her face, but he had come to her when she was on a mask. How did he know she was the one?

She lowered her head to conceal the killing intent in her eyes.

Picking up her phone, she tossed it around her fingers before stabilizing it and dialling a number.

"Any house?" The question seemed meaningless but in fact it was a code. The person at the other end instantly understood her and replied in the positive.

Hanging up, she stared towards the school's fence and caught a pair of black eyes staring at her. It shrank back when it found out it had been discovered.

The man dressed in a clown outfit dashed out. He hadn't gotten far when he felt pain at his ears, stopping, he turned around but saw no one but how could he not be familiar with such method?

"Don't kill me, I'll tell you what you want to know" he begged loudly.

The few people around stared at him warily. Indeed, he was a clown. They didn't bother themselves with him as they returned to their previous activities.

The man on his part instantly felt relieved after saying those words.

The phone in his pocket beeped and he took it out to see a string of words.

—Get your ass outta there to the flower shop in front of you.

Biting his lips warily, he stood up and staggered towards the shop ignoring the loathing looks being given to him.

Walking into his shop, he caught sight of a white haired girl at the front of the flower shop gazing lovingly at an orchid close to her.

Sitting opposite her, he asked begrudgingly: "What is it? Why did you almost murder me?"

Hazel ignored him, took out a pull and handed it to him. Without asking much, the man opened his mouth and swallowed the pill. Without much thought, he knew it was an antidote to the pain she had inflicted on him moments ago.

"Why were you peeping at me in school?" Hazel asked flatly. She was a little upset the man's action had made her skip class. She was a good student!

"I wasn't" he shrugged, "The guy who talked with you earlier caught my attention"

Hearing him, she straightened and became serious: "What do you mean by that? You've seen him somewhere or something?"

The man shook his head, "I'm not sure but I think that's more like it. I really can't tell"

Hazel was disappointed, her hope dashed. Huffing angrily, she decided to assign a task to him, "Find out everything about him and report to me. Any slightest information you get should be sent to me"

Nodding solemnly, the man stood up and left the room. After the man left, Hazel no longer felt like returning to school. The mysteriousness of Carlin Lightbolt greatly disturbed her and besides, she really didn't believe she couldn't get any information about him except he was....

Frowning, she took out her phone and dialled Damon's number. The call went through but then went straight to voicemail telling her to leave a message.

Stuffing the phone back into her pocket, she left the flower shop with a screech.

She moved extremely fast that she got home in the timespan of five minutes when it usually took thirty minutes with a car.

Pushing the door open, she met Ariel and her father, Romeo in the sitting room watching a TV show.

"Where's Romeo?" She asked, pulling out the TV plug.

Ariel frowned while Romeo sighed. The kid was becoming too daring.

"You must've heard of his new friend" Ariel muttered "They left together from school"

"What!?"

The increased pitch and cus he of voice frightened the duo. Why did Hazel suddenly look so angry.

"Are you aware your son is in danger?" Romeo yelled pointing a finger at Romeo.

Romeo blinked rapidly trying to understand what was going on. Then suddenly like tho struck with a Lightbolt, he was up in a split second.

"The boy..." He trailed off.

Hazel stared at him in a displeased way. "Yes, the boy is a trap. He found out something and took Damon!"

They weren't scared of being found out but for the other party to pull such a stunt meant they had something up their sleeves.

Her eyes turned cold. From her peripheral view she saw someone moving to the door.

"Where are you going?" She asked with pursed lips.

"To save my son!" Romeo replied. He got to the door and tried pulling it back but it didn't budge. Frustrated, he turned around to see Hazel staring at him with a scornful look.

"What did Mom see In you? I believe they were better men in Pasia" Hazel muttered but the duo heard her clearly.

Romeo stumped his foot angrily and walked to the cushion he left earlier. The girl had taken everything from her mother!

"Alright" Hazel said regaining her composure: "This people took Damon, which means one thing; they're more than prepared. Also, were not even sure if it's who we think they are or another grip of people. So what I'm trying to say is...."

.....

Damon groaned painfully and woke up from his slumber. Glancing at the dark room, he was able to make out the state of the room. The room was shabby and old. It was also very dirty with cobwebs everywhere.

His eyes were still wandering about the room when he heard a dry cough. His eyes shot towards the direction of the sound.

There was a silhouette there hut because the person seemed to be curled up, he couldn't make out if it was a man or a woman.

The door suddenly opened and two men walked in. The light was switched on and the dark room was instantly illuminated.

Damon shut his eyes, then slowly opened it. Standing in front of him was a burly looking man who had a net singlet. Because of it, the horrible tattos he had on were visible. His face was also filled with deep scars. For an average citizen, the man's appearance was sure to cause a scare but Damon stared amusingly at him.

Standing beside the man was Carlin. He didn't look as adorable and fearful as usual. Infact if those bullies from school saw him, they'd be afraid to approach him.

The duo stared at the bemused Damon wondering why he wasn't the slightest bit scared.

Silence ensured between the trio for minutes before a dry cough rang out. Everyone's eyes diverted to the corner of the room where the sound came from.

Damon now saw who it was. The man looked sickly, with his neckbone visibly showing. He seemed to be down with a chronic illness.

Damon took his eyes off the man then asked seriously: "Carlin, why are my here?"

Carlin shrugged, turned his eyes towards the window, "it doesn't have to do with you. When the person I'm waiting for arrives, you'll know"
