Chapter-14 [Kiaan and Divit]

Kiaan has now been conscious about his place in Keya's life.

Many things have happened but he was unaware of everything.

He felt conflicted and thought if it was for him that Keya was going away from her.

More scared of Divit, he felt as if his place has been substituted.

He decided to confront Divit and see what he is upto.

Next day, he saw Divit at the canteen.

The previous night, he already did a quick search on Divit and his background.

Before this he has never been so concerned about Divit.

"I wanted to talk to you."

"Yeah sure, what is it?"

"I heard you helped Keya"

"Yeah! Earl was a jerk."

"How do you have so much information about Keya and her family?"

Kiaan asked in a strong tone. He was concerned about Keya.

Divit was no less, he looked straight into Kiaan's eyes.

"I love her and it is obvious that I will also keep her whereabouts."

Kiaan was taken aback but he firmly stepped ahead.

"I want you to stay away from her. I am here to take care of her. You need not worry."

Divit mocked.

"Did she tell you she loves you?".

Kiaan was enraged but he had no words to say so he kept quiet.

Divit left without turning back.

Keya saw Divit at the corridor and caught up with him.

"What happened? You look – angry?"

Divit charmingly looked at Keya.

"Your friend wants me to step out"

Saying so, he left.

Keya's and Divit's conversations were always very short and confusing.

Keya was riddled. When she turned her face, she saw Kiaan standing behind her.

"I got frightened. Do not scare me by standing behind me."

"Do you love Divit?"

"I…."

"Have you made him clear that you don't like him?"

"And what is wrong with you?"

Kiaan stared at her fiercely.

"Did you say Divit anything?"

"Yes, that I am here to take care of you and we don't want strangers hanging around you."

Keya was furious.

"Why are you intervening?"

"What do you mean? Do you want to say that he is more important than me?"

"Did I say so? But why are you intervening in my life? These are my choices and stop forcing your decisions on me."

These words were very harsh for Kiaan but Keya left without apologizing.

Kiaan was awfully struck with Keya's words and he stood dumbfounded in the corridor.

Keya ran after Divit but could not find him.

She wanted to clear the misunderstanding but Divit was nowhere to be found.

Soon the class bell rang and everyone went inside the class.

Keya spotted Divit in the last bench of the class looking outside the window.

She stood there staring at Divit, when Divit caught her staring at him, he gave her a sardonic smile and looked at the teacher who was standing behind Keya.

"Keya, are you going to stand here forever?"

"Sorry sir!"

Keya took her seat.

Throughout the class, she gazed at Divit but Divit did not give her a single look back.

Instead, he completely focused on the class.

The teacher noticed this behavior of Keya.

"Keya, do you want to sit at the back".

Keya was caught off-guard.

She hurriedly stood up.

"Sorry sir."

"This kind of behavior is not expected from a student like you. You need to focus on your studies."

Saying so the teacher made an announcement…

"Students, this year's intra-collegiate competitions with be starting from the mid of this month. So, I want all of you to make your preparations for that and get ready to win the championship."

"There are options in different categories and students may nominate their names for the same."

Saying so the teacher listed a track of events and sports that were about to be organized that year and asked the students to register their names in the registry desk.

After giving all the instructions, he looked at Keya and said, "You have got a competition this time. Divit is a good player. Let's see who wins this time but I want both of you to start your preparation from today itself."

"Now you may sit down."

"Thank you, sir."

"The Winner of the intra-collegiate competition will be representing us for the inter-collegiate competition. So, I want all of you to give your best and start preparing from today itself."

Keya peeped at Divit who was giving an enchanting winning smile as if he was sure to win the competition this time.

After the class, Keya caught up with Divit.

"Why are you ignoring me?"

"I am not!"

"That was a misunderstanding."

"Fine."

"Why aren't you looking at me."

Divit smiled and stared deep into Keya's eyes.

Keya's heart skipped a bit.

Divit came closer.

"I know, I was just teasing you."

Divit smiled again.

Keya got flushed but she tried giving a fake angry face.

"You should not do this."

Her blushing could not stop. So, she turned back and started leaving.

Divit caught her hand.

She did not expect this and her face became totally red.

Divit playfully smiled and stared at her back. There was no one in the class and it seemed that time has frozen.

As soon as Keya turned back, Divit drew her closer to him.

Her hands were on Divit's chest and her face closer to Divit's face.

She was so shy that she could not look up at Divit's eyes.

Divit smiled and came closer and closer.

Keya's heart raced and she closed her eyes.

Looking at the frightened cat, Divit smiled and drew back.

He kept looking at her fluttering eye lashes, her lips, her red cheeks, her ears and her straight nose.

Feeling no sensation near, Keya slowly opened her eyes and felt very embarrassed.

Divit started laughing.

Keya felt like a fool and could no longer stand there so she left hurriedly.

Divit smiled sweetly at her sudden departure. He never looked this happy before.

He took his bag and left the classroom as well.
