TIME TO LEAVE

Once the refugees got to the West, they sought for a place to stay. They later found a place to stay, it was a bushy area but it wasn't something too hard for the people to clear. The refugees quickly started clearing the place. Before evening, they had finished clearing the place, they started construction the next day and within weeks, the refugees were no longer homeless, they had a place to stay, at least, for now.One day, the leader of the refugees called Zeruta and told her that he wanted to discuss with her. "What is it Leader", she asked. "I want to tell you something, you have a natural gift. Please use that gift for the good of the Ancient Country of Amigo. Many die every day due to the wickedness and heartlessness of the Emins,we lost our people, we were chased from our lands and now, we are refugees in another land. Please help us bring balance, help us restore peace and calmness to Amigo", the leader said all these while on his knees, Zeruta was perplexed. She too had been making plans secretly but she didn't expect anyone to put complete hope in her. While she was still thinking of what to say, the leader brought out a box which was twice Zeruta's arm length. He gave it to Zeruta, after Zeruta opened the box, she saw a golden bow and a quiver full of golden arrows. It was so beautiful.Zeruta had never seen anything like it. "It's the pride of our Clan", the Leader said."It's origin is unknown but it was found by a lake close to our clan, no one has actually used it since it got into our possession but we believe it is not an ordinary bow. I believe this would help you, Fight for us, return the peace we once had in Amigo!!!" Zeruta accepted the gift, bowed to the elder and ran into her room.Meanwhile, some people in the West which were part of the refugees that saw Zeruta use her bow and arrow started spreading news about the 'Girl from the East', "she's very strong" some say, others say, "It's a rumor", it spread so fast that soon, the Emins heard of this and decided to attack the East once they destroyed the South. After Zeruta got to her room, she hastened all her preparations and that night, without the knowledge of anyone, she left the West. The West usually shut their doors at night to prevent attack from the Emins and they stood guard and were very alert. Zeruta had been walking around the West in preparation of leaving so she already knew some shortcuts and secret passage ways which led out of the city. There was a tunnel which very few people knew about, it was set up in case there was any need to evacuate the royals in the land during times of war. Zeruta used that tunnel to escape without being noticed by even the guards there. Once she left the West, she put on a Mask to avoid being recognized by anyone. She planned on going to the East to help them evacuate but decided to go to the South in other to return back the favour the Redas had done. Before she could get to the South, the Emins had wiped out about half of the clans, the Southerners had only few clans left which were not yet destroyed by the E Emins. The Emins knew that the Redas were going to evacuate so they surrounded the entire south, they had men placed at strategic exit points. This made things more stressful for Zeruta as she had to follow longer routes to get to the South. When she finally got there, she discovered that most of the lands in the South were desolate, some Clans had lost hopes and were all waiting for their death to come. Zeruta got into one of the Clans which had yet been destroyed by the Emin secretly and entered into the house of the Chief. When she got in, the Chief was having dinner with his family, she wanted to meet only him so she had to wait. When the Chief finished eating, he retired for the night and was about to sleep when he saw someone before him in his room. He tried to shout but before he could shout, Zeruta rushed and covered his mouth. She held his mouth while she explained everything to him. She told him her plan of evacuating the remaining Southern Clans. She introduced herself as 'The Girl from the East'. Once the Chief heard this name, he tried recalling where he had heard the name from before but he couldn't recall so he asked Zeruta what she wanted to do, she told him to gather a meeting with the Elders and promised she would be in the meeting the following morning. Before the Chief could reply, she had already left the room. The Chief almost urinated on himself. That night, Zeruta didn't sleep. She was busy working on her plan to escape with the Southerners. The following day, the Chief called all the Elders and was about to tell them of his experience the previous night before suddenly, they felt the presence of someone else, when they turned to look, it was Zeruta. Some Elders screamed like babies. The Chief was at least a little bit calmer than he was last night. The Chief saw Zeruta staring at him and immediately understood the message she was trying to pass. One of the guards, not knowing what was going on, decided to attack Zeruta but before he could come close to her, Zeruta shot her out an arrow from her old bow and pinned the guard to the wall. The arrow held the guard's cloth firmly to the wall but the guard wasn't hurt. This was to show the level of accuracy Zeruta had acquired due to all the training she had undergone all these years. The Elders after watching the scene, knew that this was really no ordinary girl at all. The Chief then explained to them what happened the previous night and how 'The Girl from the East' (Zeruta) (She didn't really reveal her real name to them) wanted to help them evacuate. The Elders were happy that finally, there was still a hope for survival. They asked Zeruta what her plan was.She only told them to gather all their people and prepare to leave. She told them to do it secretly as any abnormality could lead to the suspicion and invasion of the Emins. They agreed with her and started preparing for the journey. Zeruta knew that they were going to get caught if everyone left the land but she had a plan. The following day, everyone of them started moving, she gave them a secret route which even they themselves didn't know. After weeks of walking safely with no interference from the Emins, they got to a Checkpoint. The Emins placed guards there. Zeruta knew that this was where she had to battle. No one in the Clan besides the Elders, the Chief and the Guard whom Zeruta attacked was aware of the presence of Zeruta, she mixed herself with the crowd and only spoke to the Chief secretly when there was a need and the Chief in turn told the people what Zeruta had told him. When they got to this Checkpoint, they stopped and waited quietly. Zeruta's plan was to wait in the forest till at night when the Southerners would be sleeping and then use the darkness as an advantage in defeating the Emins guards. The plan would have worked, but one of the babies started crying out of hunger. The noise attracted the Emins and the people started panicking. Zeruta who had been in the shadows had no choice but to show herself. "Shhhhhh", she hushed them. Before the Emins could approach, two of them were already down. This was the first time the Southerners were seeing Zeruta or rather, 'The Girl from the East' in action. This Checkpoint was not really that strong, so it held just about six Emins guards. Even at that, Zeruta knew the ability of the Emins guards to call for help, so she didn't waste time in killing all of them. Within ten seconds, the six guards were all dead. Zeruta tried to hide the bodies of the men, the Chief understood what she was trying to do and sent out men to help her, within minutes, they had buried the six bodies. They continued their journey. People started inquiring who the girl was. At first, no one paid attention to her, not because they didn't see her, but because they were too depressed to think about a stranger in their midst. At night, they gathered around a corner and started asking the Chief questions, the Chief only told them that she called herself, 'The Girl from the East' and that he really didn't know her name or who she was. The people once again had hope that perhaps, they could survive. Two weeks later, they arrived at the West. As they were about to enter the gates after being searched, they discovered that Zeruta was no longer with them. She had gone to save other clans in the South.
