Zeruta was now in the East, spending her time daily, trying to study the weapons of the Emins, how they worked and how they were powered. Unfortunately, this wasn't her field so she couldn't really understand much of it. One day, while walking through the forest in the East, she saw a man whom she recognized as the King of the Lamias. "He wasn't captured?" she asked herself. He was looking so tired and tattered, it seems like he had been running away. Zeruta decided to help him. She held his arm and drew him into the forest. When the King saw her, he asked, "Are you The Girl from the East?" Zeruta replied, "Yes". He quickly straightened his clothes, went to his knees and begged her to help his people.Zeruta was touched by the action of the King. She helped him get up and gave him some food to eat, after eating and resting for two days, the once shabby looking old man now looked like the handsome and vibrant King Zeruta once saw when she was in the West. The King of Lamias narrated everything that happened in the West to Zeruta, starting from how the battle was to how he was able to escape. "... after escaping, I decided to go to the East, hoping that I might find The Girl from the East there, and fortunately, I found you. I'm so sorry that we couldn't protect you when you were captured by the Emins".Zeruta then decided to tell the King of Lamias how the Emins were able to infiltrate the land. "Your Highness, there's no need to feel sorry. It was some Chiefs from the East who betrayed the Lamias, Redas and Ferads….""So that's how it all happened", the King replied after heaving a sigh. Finally, all his questions were answered and he understood how it all happened.Zeruta then told the King that he should get some rest, that in two weeks, they'll be attacking the Emins. The King was surprised and glad at the same time. He was surprised because he expected her to be scared from his story and was glad because, two weeks wasn't really a long time. If he was the one, he would have used two months to prepare.Zeruta went to another location in the forest and started pondering over what her mother said about the arrow and the bow. "How could she use the powers from it?" This was the question that she needed to answer before the end of two weeks. If she couldn't answer this question, it would be extremely difficult to win the Emins. After pondering for about one week with no answer of any sort, she decided to give up, as she was got up and was about to move, she fell and rolled into a lake just close by. She decided to spend some time in the water. After some hours, a thought came to her. She quickly ran to where she left the King of Lamias. When he saw her, he was surprised at the speed at which she was running. "Who's chasing you" he quickly asked while grabbing his sword. "I have to ask you something" she quickly said. "What do you want to ask?" He asked her, wondering what it could be."What do you know about the weapons of the Emins?" She asked him. The King thought for some time before answering, "Long ago, when the Emins first brought up threats of war, a lady arose and tried to stop them. She was able to create a powder which the Emins now call gun powder. She used it to power her arrow.Whenever the arrow was powered by that powder, the arrow did wonders. Its power created more damage than even the present guns of the Emins, the only disadvantage of the arrow was that, it caused massive destruction so she rarely used it except when she had to. Some years later, the Emins were able to kill the lady and stole her powder. It was a very small quantity so the other territories didn't take it serious, but now, it seems like they (the Emins) were able to learn how to make their own powder."Zeruta suspected that the lady in question was her mother but she didn't ask the King. She decided that if the need came up, no matter the cost, she'll use the gun powder with her bow and arrow.
