I want to help (script Act 3)

ACT 3

(FADE IN)

EXT. DARK FOREST – EVENING

The creature that took Lilith's head ran and run until the bear couldn't catch up to them.

Lilith

Stop! Please! That bear needs me!

Even if the bear was no longer in sight, the creature still ran until it tripped and dropped Lilith's head. She was mad to the creature but realized that her eyes were covered in dirty cloth. She felt pity. The creature was now groping the ground searching for Lilith.

Lilith

I'm here

The creature followed Lilith's voice and lifted her from the ground.

Lilith

What are you and what happened to your eyes?

TROLL

(Still catching its breath)

I am a troll and I heard that there is a magnificent fairy in this dark forest who will help anyone in need.

Lilith

I am not magnificent but I will help anyone in need.

Troll

Even the bear who will eat you whole?

Lilith

Yes because he asked me.

Troll

So you will help me if I asked you?

Lilith

(Hesitant)

Yes. But can you please tell me first what happened to your eyes and how can you ran away from that bear without any eyes?

Troll

(Giggling)

Well, I've been blind for so long that I learned to see through my other senses; and because my sense of hearing are far more sensitive than any other creature, I heard some whispers mentioning a fairy who will help anyone. You are that one right?

Lilith

Yes.

Troll

Then, will you please help me see? I've been living in these shadows ever since and my one wish is just to see the outside world. I've always wanted to see the sun and feel its radiant warmth. But I couldn't do it because I need my eyes to get out of this forest.

The troll take off the cloth covering his eyes. Lilith then proceeded to give her eyes to the troll.

Troll

Thank you…

Lilith

(Stunned)

Troll

(Laughing)

Thank you for being a fool.

Do you actually believe the lies every creatures in this forest has said? They are here not because they want to but because they committed a mistake. They are here to be punished and make amends of their sins. No one would ever enter the dark forest because there is no exit. This is a trash for the people who are trash of the society… well, I guess you fit in perfectly.

The troll threw the dirty cloth into Lilith's face and left.

Lilith is left alone in the dark forest; unable to move, and unable to see. Her present state is pitiful but she is happy.

Lilith

(Whispers, sobbing)

I know…

(FADE IN)

Flashback

INT. Library – DAY

Lilith is reading the book in the library.

OTS. Showing the book while Lilith reads the pages

Lilith

(Whispers)

Creatures you will encounter in the dark forest

VOICE OVER WHILE LILITH IS READING THE BOOK:

I know every creature that approached me. I know what they really are; I know that they aren't what they said they were and I know that there is no going back but I'm glad that I became useful.

Lilith

(Still reading the book, whispering)

You can't go back once you've entered

CUT TO

EXT. DARK FOREST – NIGHT

Lilith alone in the forest.

(Camera spinning, focuses on Lilith's head but revealing the eyes of the creatures hiding in the forest)

SFX: LAUGHING

VO:

Lilith knows that she is a fool, but she couldn't be happier. This is the first time someone said thanks to her and even give her something in exchange of her help even if it is just a dirty piece of cloth. Even though she has no eyes. She cried and cried but is happily smiling. The creatures in the forest all laughed at her and called her a generous fool, little they know that this fool finally fulfilled her purpose: to be of use to anyone and everyone in need of her help.

(CUT TO BLACK)
