I want to help (script Act 2)

ACT 2 SCENE 1

(FADE IN)

EXT. DARK FOREST – DAY

It is daytime but the sun wasn't seen. The forest is filled with thorns, and fog that is covering the sun above the forest. An eerie sound can be heard.

Lilith

(Scared)

Hello? Is anybody there?

Her voice was shaking but she yelled this on top of her lungs, she waited for a response but no one answered. She was creeped out by the sound so she flew so fast that she bumped into a tree. She fell into the ground and realized that she is on top of a long weird white creature. (Snake)

Lilith

Excuse me sir, but are you okay?

Snake

Yes. Pain doesn't hurt me anymore.

Lilith

I am very sorry. I was afraid so I flew so fast and bumped to this tree. I am sorry if I knocked you down.

Snake

No trouble my child. It is okay.

Lilith

Excuse me for being curious but what are you? This is my first time meeting slithering creature.

Snake

(Giggling)

I am a snake. My kind are the rulers of the jungle. A lot of creature feared us but some are fascinated with our shiny scales.

Lilith

Scales?

Snake

They are the skin covering our bodies. My kind are the descendants of dragons which is why we are very similar to them. We are noble creatures that's why humans capture us.

Lilith

Capture you? Aren't humans good?

Snake

Humans are good but some of them are worse than those whom they called monsters. I once have four legs that can make my travels easy but a human captured me and cut off my legs. My tribe wouldn't accept me anymore for I couldn't rule the jungle if I have missing parts. I was banished and that is why the dark forest is now my home

Lilith

(Sympathizing)

I am so sorry to hear that. Believe it or not but we are very much alike.

Snake

Alike? How?

Lilith

Well, I was treated as an outcast. The whole town didn't want me and my family considered me a disgrace. I tried my best to help the humans but all I gave them was misfortunes. Which is why I went here to help creatures like you.

Snake

Like me?

Lilith

Yes. Fairies are known to aid humans but since I can't help them, I will find others who needs help. I may not have four legs but I have a pair of legs that I am willing to give to you.

Lilith gave her legs to the snake but as soon the snake received her legs. It ran so fast. Lilith smiled knowing that she helped a creature in need.

Now legless, she started flying and carry on her journey.

(FADE OUT)

ACT 2 SCENE 2

(FADE IN)

EXT. DARK FOREST – DAY

Even though it is dark in the forest, Lilith adapted easily and now she don't feel scared. She hums happily as she flew in the dark forest. While flying, she saw an exhausted slimy creature. She then approached it. (Slug)

Lilith

Excuse me sir? Are you okay?

Slug

Yes, just catching my breath.

Lilith picked a leaf and scooped water from a puddle nearby then gave it to the slug.

Slug

You sure are helpful huh?

Lilith

Of course! I will help anyone in need!

Slug

Fairy folks are really helpful eh?

Lilith

Yes.it is our duty.

Slug

If you're a fairy, then what are you doing here? I heard fairies stay in Pnohm, Shouldn't you be there?

Lilith

Yes. But fairies who stay in Pnohm help humans and I wasn't very good in helping them so I went here.

Slug

You're a pretty odd fellow. You are created perfect to have a one goal; to assist the humans, but you chose to help the creatures whom everyone turn their backs on.

Lilith

Some fairies may disagree, but some people aren't worthy of the help we're giving. They failed to see what is important and their lives where driven by greed and the thought of being successful. They take for granted the little things we do for them because they are too busy aiming to be on top. We have to help them but they aren't the only ones in need of help. Those creatures in the dark and reluctant to receive help are the ones who need it most. I haven't been of use to humans so I want to help everyone here.

Slug

You must've seen a lot of things to arrive at a conclusion like that. Must've been nice to have such pretty wings.

Lilith

(Confused look)

Slug

I once have beautiful wings like yours. People adored me; kids smiles whenever they see me and adults wished every time they caught a glimpse of me. I roamed vast lands and is living a happy life but a frog ate my wings and all those fortunate memories are now over. I couldn't fly anymore and now, every time people saw me, they look me in disgust.

Lilith

Must've been hard.

Slug

Indeed

Lilith

What if I gave you my wings? I've seen enough beautiful things to know that some of them are just superficial. You might consider me as beautiful but that is not my totality. I want to help so will you please accept my wings?

Lilith gave her wings to the slug but as soon as he received it, the slug flew so fast away from Lilith. She smiled knowing that there is another creature she helped.

She is now wingless and legless. But despite the fact that she is missing some parts, she still proceed on her journey. She now used her hands to walk deeper into the forest.

(FADE OUT)

ACT 2 SCENE 3

(FADE IN)

EXT. DARK FOREST – AFTERNON

After hours of walking upside down using only her hands to walk into the dark forest, she decided to rest. But a few minutes after she settled down she heard a voice crying for help. She searched the area to find where it is coming from, and discovered a worm beside an anthill covered with ants.

Lilith immediately helped the worm but it wouldn't stop crying because of the pain from the ant bites. She wanted to ease its pain by giving it medicine but she couldn't find any ingredients in the dark forest.

Lilith felt pity to the worm covered in ant's bite marks, and guilt that she couldn't be of help to this creature.

Lilith

I am so sorry that I couldn't help you

Worm

(Couldn't talk, still sobbing from the pain)

Lilith

I may not ease the pain you are feeling but I can help you so that you wouldn't feel that kind of pain again

Lilith decided to give her hands to the worm.

Worm

Now that I have hands, all I wanted to do is revenge to those ants. I've always wanted to kill them

Lilith

Revenge? Kill? But those are wrong! You mustn't!

Worm

These are my hands now and I could do whatever I want with them.

The worm went back to the anthill and started crushing the ants. It destroyed the ants' home while cursing.

Lilith

Stop!

Lilith tried to stop the worm by blocking its way but the worm pushed Lilith. The worm pushed Lilith so hard that she rolled so far from the worm.

(FADE OUT)

ACT 2 SCENE 4

(FADE IN)

EXT. DARK FOREST – AFTERNOON

Lilith rolled and rolled for minutes until she bumped a tree. Now that she stopped rolling, she realized that she is now covered with mud. She cried and wanted to give up but on second thought, she couldn't. She should help everyone in need no matter what.

Her crying woke up a bear lying beside the tree she just bumped in. she noticed that despite of its size, the bear was slim and malnourished

Bear

(Yawning)

Lilith

I'm sorry mister bear for waking you up.

Bear

Is today the day?

Lilith

I'm sorry what?

Bear

I mean, is today the day I will finally have something to eat?

Lilith

Sorry but I haven't brought any food with me.

Bear

Then go away

SFX (Stomach grumbling)

Lilith

I may not have food but I can be a food. You can eat my body if you are so hungry. It may have some missing parts but it is all I can give to stop your stomach from grumbling.

The bear was thrilled when Lilith said this to him. It immediately devoured the body that Lilith gave him.

Bear

More!

Lilith

What?

Bear

I said more! What you gave isn't enough! It didn't even reach my stomach! If the food you gave me has missing parts, then make amends by giving me your head instead.

Lilith

(Reluctant)

Will you be happy if I let you eat my head?

Bear

Yes!

Lilith

Then, I will be of use?

Bear

Sure

Lilith

Then take it!

(Smiling)

The bear was about to grab Lilith's head but a creature snatched Lilith and ran so fast away from the bear.

(FADE OUT)
