Alex stopped laughing after some time, though he would still snicker now and then. To him, it was as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world. He just used a Legendary artifact and got injured because of a misunderstanding.
This was just hilarious to him, unlike in fiction where everyone uses everything on time, in reality, misunderstandings could happen and even kill them.
The first thought that had come to mind was that some God had tracked them or the Headmistress had teleported side to side with them.
He always thought Lily would be extraordinary even at such a young age, but she was still a 7 years old kid who got unnerved when someone like Alex came around. Alex already saw her as the hero she would become in the future, the Assassin of the Dead Lands, which would be her future title.
Every player was afraid of her, even at the peak of Legendary Rank they would be afraid because she could kill them silently, quietly, and in one hit before they could even use their Ki or Mana.
Back in the game, she was famous for not showing emotions and being mysterious. Very little was known about her background until the very later stages in the game, and by then she had become irrelevant due to the War of Gods going on.
Alex thought all of this repeatedly, when he had only met her in his 1st life in-game, he had asked her why she doesn't show emotions. Of course, he was ignored, but he loved the way her disciple had responded.
"Hahaha, never thought someone like you would say such things about my lack of emotional showings," Alex beamed at her, he couldn't get rid of the smirk on his face, "Still though, you should just ask. No need to feel so conflicted Lily, that's such a silly thing. It's not a bad thing to ask."
The way he said it made it seem like it was silly for Lily to not ask something like this. Which made her avoid contact with him, that was just how embarrassed she was. Alex on the other hand became even more overjoyed since she too started to open up to him some more.
The mist slowly cleared out and revealed the dead bodies of the undead, which were some blue-skinned, blue-eyed, white-haired creatures, their bodies were extremely thin, showing that for that to happen to an undead it should be around thousands of years old. They weren't skeletons so the strength from their mortal life remained, even though their blue flesh had already started rotting.
Each of them had cuts all over their bodies, though it was hard to notice due to the cracks created by the Dragon Horn.
But on the other side of the room was a majestic throne made for someone or something that was three times the normal human size.
On the throne sat a diamond-shaped blue crystal, as Lily stared at it, she couldn't help but feel like a whole dimension was inside it.
Alex on the other stumbled as he stood up, it felt like the restrictions on his body. Lily looked at him worryingly and helped him stand up by putting his arm around her shoulders. "Careful, you are so heavily injured. Can you stop trying to push yourself so hard?"
He smiled at her sweetly. "Lily, this is something that will make me… no, it will make both of us reach a whole new realm of existence."
She escorted him and his breath became heavier the more he walked. His injuries had developed into something critical and his vision in his remaining eye was blurry as if he was about to pass out.
But as fingers clasped around the strange crystal, the whole world became clearer to him.

[The cold of the Ice Goddess seeps through your body, +2 Constitution, +3 Strength, +1 Dexterity]
[Knowledge of 9 Legendary Ice Spells.]
[The road to divinity has been opened.]
Alex smiled at it, this was the same thing that he got during the time he played the game. He remembered those fond memories like they happened yesterday, this location was told only after completing a ton of chain quests from a homeless NPC in one of the cities in the Wayne Kingdom. Originally one of this countless undead was the man's ancestors.
Of course, the only reason Alex was able to get it was because instead of going through the chain quests, he threatened the NPC and got the information and killed him afterward so no other player could get it. Back when it was all so fun when this used to be a game. This was one of the major reasons he used to love it.
Still, even though the Ice Mage was the route that he had followed back then. He knew that there were better ways and classes. Since he had 9 Legendary Rank Spells, he could immediately reach the peak of Legendary Rank, since for each level after 20, there needed to be Exp and a spell that suited the class to be able to go to the next level.
Legendary Ranks are in the many, but there was a reason the Headmistress was feared because even amongst the others she had stood out and reached the peak.
Alex could do the same, but he resisted the urge, he wanted another Class that would be way better than Ice Mage. He didn't plan to follow the same route as his playthrough, because now he knew better roads to take.
Also, after touching the crystal, Alex had become able to use spells in this place now. So immediately countless green magic circles flew around him and ran through his body. As they came out of the other side they became red and stained.
This was a Blood Magic Spell since a Blood Mage can't use Healing Magic which belongs to the Life or Nature Classes, which was directly on the opposite side of the spectrum of a Blood Mage.
But the weakness of being unable to use healing spells wasn't anything too big. The Blood Mages through the ages had improved on their craft and one of the first things they did was create healing blood spells.
He took a deep breath and enjoyed the cold air, since he got the Perk, Ice Body, cold no longer causes him any bother.
...
Lily looked at the crystal in his hands with a face full of curiosity. Though she resisted her urge to touch the thing, even if all of her instincts told her to touch it. Alex noticed this and offered to her. "Wanna touch?"
She nodded. As his hand leaned forward, her breathing got quicker and Lily breathed a sigh of relief after touching it.
Instantly shining blue veins of ice spread around her body, her dark eyes also got a deep blue color for a split second, before they turned back to dark and her body became normal. Alex looked at this curiously, he wondered what Lily got out of this.
She gathered her Ki to her hand and immediately the temperature around them decreased.
Alex licked his lips and a greedy smile appeared on his face. Which in the face of a young child seemed terrifying. 'She already entered Rank 3 and is at the Peak, plus that cold Ki… she got Yin Type Body, this will help her with her darkness and speed up her cultivation speed. Amazing, this Lily will surpass the version of her that I knew from the game.'
Booom!!
Suddenly the whole chamber and Alex looked around confused.
