old friend right

The way to the flower shop is a little long, but it worth the walk since I like the falling snow. After some time of walking the snowfall has built-up enough that it is now starting to stick on the ground.

The walk eventually does end, the place I stopped at known as "forest flowers," sell some of the best flowers around. "oh long time Daniel, how's it been?"

"Its been a bit of time Miss Grace, I hope everything at your flower shop is going well." she smiles some, telling me that the business has been going fairly well.

While I walk around amusing the sight of the other flowers, I already know which ones I want. The white roses here are not cheap, but they fit perfectly with the snow season, so I pick them up.

Grace looks at the flowers, and gives me a smile, "I see you have picked out the white roses again, I know she will like them, because she always did." The smile I had fades a bit, but it doesn't totally disappear.

once she gives me back my extra cash I thank her, then I walk off with the flowers in hand. "Thanks for the purchase, and come again," with those words from Grace I finally head out the door, heading farther into town.

The place I come to is open and spacious, the only thing that separates it from a normal place is the tall fence around the whole area. The stones here have been maintained nicely, im glad to see the respect from the works that work here give to those who have departed.

The grave I walk to is farther back, once I reach there I place the flowers down at the head of the stone. "hello mother, I hope your doing good today," When I look back I see my grandfather standing there, just watching, "well looks like I gotta go, you take care now."

When I get to him he puts his arms up for a hug, and I give him one, " hey, let's go home now." I shack my head in agreement as we both walk silently out of there, I wonder to myself what she would be doing today, if she hadn't gone on that trip.

The ride back home became a little bit difficult, seeing as how the snow decided to come a bit earlier then expected. However it's still visually nice to see, that there's going to be a blanket of heavy snow on the ground. When I look up I saw something off in the open field, it was small, but that was honestly all I could visually catch before it disappeared.

When we get to our house, there is another car next to the house. This car is unknown to me, but my grandfather looks pissed. "When we get out of the car, don't speak with the one in that car, don't give him even the chance to speak with you, got it." The way he said it made me just agree with him instinctively, since I don't know, and likely don't want to know.

However the moment we got out of our car, the person that was in that car got out too. "Well well, long time no talk William, how's retirement treating you?" grandfather doesn't even turn around to acknowledge him, "what's the matter, are we no longer friends?" The moment he said that I became confused, that my grandfather, and this old man were old friends.

When my grandfather and I reach the door the old man was basically right next to us, "what, are we just not going to talk anymore?" what I saw next was a blur in color, the only think I know is that grandfather slugged him as hard as he could. "so that's how it's going to be, a punch to the face, sigh, fine but if this is the only way to get you to talk then I'll take as many of those as you can throw."

When the man gets off the ground he brushes himself off, then walks towards my grandfather, "so how shall we talk, out here, or inside?" my grandfather is still fuming, however even he can still control himself. "if you weren't in such a high position right now White, I would kick you ass." After he said that the two of them shock hands, with my grandfather walking back to the door along with the other person.

Once we were all inside I got them some coffee and left the room, I knew that they wanted to talk in private, however I couldn't help but be curious at to what the discussion was about. Without a second thought on weather it was considered intrusive or not, I pressed my ear up against the door to listen in.

"So White what do you come here for, I know it's not to catch up on one another's lives." The tone grandfather is using is only when he's dead serious about something, so I'm expecting someone very important from the other man.

"Well you got me, you know me to well, so I'm gonna just cut right to it ok William, the truth is I need you back, and not in a few weeks, or a month, I need you by the end of next week at least."

The room became very silent, to the point you could drop a pin and it would be heard. Then I hear my grandfather sigh a bit, but he is only mumbling some words that I can't make out.

"Look William I need a person to help train marksmen, that's it, I promise you that is all I'm here for." I hear my grandfather get up from his chair, as he heads for the door I try to think of a place to hide, but I was to late on the retreat.

grandfather looks at me up and down, "what are you doing at the door, listening in?" I just admit that I was listening in, since if I lie he doesn't exactly like it. "Hey is that Mr Daniel, it's been a while since I last saw him, looks like he's grown up now."

When he said that grandfather turned back around, "you will not think about what your thinking right now." They are both basically at one another's necks with what they are talking about, however I decide to speak up, either way I have to say something.

"What's this conversation about grandfather, it sounds rather important." That's when my grandfather lossened up a bit, then Mr White decides to speak up. "Well if you won't tell him, I shall, Daniel I'm asking your grandfather to come back to the military base main headquarters, to help train up new sniper members."

When he said that I didn't know what to think, except that those rumors of war coming were all true. "you know I can't do that anymore, my mind isn't like it used to be, I can't make exact distance calls, face it White I'm old, and you are too." When my grandfather says that an idea forms in my head, sure a stupid one but an idea.

"Mr White is it possible that instead of grandfather helping to train new snipers, could I do his job instead?" The look on my grandfather's face goes pale, as if he just heard that another family member just died. "Daniel do you know what your signing up for?"

When he said that I was a bit confused, however it finally clicked in a few seconds later. "Your basically volunteering yourself to be a sniper trainer, and if things get hard you will also be pulled to the front lines too."

The thought had crossed my mind, but I knew the risks, however I just don't know if I could actually kill a person. However at the same time if it was for The Empire I feel like I could do it. "yes grandfather I know what I'm saying, however I would like Mr White to witness my skills tomorrow to see if he would accept them."

When White hears that he smiles a little, then salutes "if you prove yourself worthy, I might just make you a sniper team leader, how does that sound." My grandfather isn't happy, but at the same time he doesn't say anything against it.

When White leaves, on his way out he said he would be back tomorrow afternoon, with all that in mind I decided to ready my rifle I had been using for the past three years. That's when I heard a knock on my door from my grandfather.

When he enters my room I could tell he wasn't ecstatic, "Daniel, do you know what kind of trouble you're getting into?" I shack my head, but I still feel relaxed, so I tell him what I wish to do.

"Grandfather, I don't know if I will be training people, or if I will be running head frist into hell fire, the truth is that at some point I would have been called up to serve anyway, so no point in avoiding it I might as well do my absolute best even before war breaks out."

When I look up I see that he is angry, however all he does is storm off to his room after that. The thought continues to cross my mind through the night, as it lingers, it screams, am I doing the right thing?
