The Monday Morning

Alex was walking to school on Monday morning, feeling bored and restless. He had spent the weekend playing with his power, experimenting with different objects, places, and people. He had flown over the city, moved cars and buses, influenced strangers and neighbors. He had had a lot of fun, but he had also felt a lot of loneliness. He had no one to share his power with, no one to understand him, no one to help him.

He wished he could find someone like him, someone who had the same power, someone who could be his friend. He wondered if he was the only one, or if there were others. He wondered how he got his power, and why. He wondered if there was a reason, a purpose, a destiny.

He was about to enter the school gate when he saw him. A boy who looked about his age, with dark hair, green eyes, and a leather jacket. A boy who was new in town, who had just moved in next door. A boy who had caught his attention, and his curiosity.

His name was Leo.

Alex had seen him a few times before, but he had never talked to him. He had noticed that Leo was different, that he didn't fit in, that he didn't care. He had noticed that Leo was smart, that he knew things, that he had secrets. He had noticed that Leo was watching him, that he was interested in him, that he had something to say.

He decided to approach him. He decided to talk to him. He decided to befriend him.

He walked up to him and said, "Hey, you're new here, right? I'm Alex. I live next door to you."

Leo looked at him and smiled. He said, "Hey, I'm Leo. Yeah, I just moved here a few days ago. Nice to meet you."

Alex felt a spark, a connection, a bond. He felt like he had found someone like him, someone who had the same power, someone who could be his friend. He didn't know how he knew, but he knew. He felt it.

He said, "So, how do you like it here? Do you like the school, the town, the people?"

Leo shrugged and said, "It's okay, I guess. I don't really care much about those things. I'm more interested in other things. Things that are more... exciting."

Alex nodded and said, "Me too. I'm also into other things. Things that are more... special."

Leo raised his eyebrows and said, "Really? Like what?"

Alex hesitated. He wanted to tell him, to reveal his power, to show him what he could do. But he was also afraid, afraid of being rejected, afraid of being exposed, afraid of being betrayed. He didn't know if he could trust him, if he could trust anyone.

He decided to test him. He decided to see if he was telling the truth, if he was hiding something, if he was like him.

He said, "Well, for example, I can do this."

He focused on a nearby trash can and made it fly in the air with his mind. He felt the pressure in his head, the burning in his eyes, the pounding in his heart. He felt the trash can move, rise, float. He felt the power, the thrill, the pleasure.

He looked at Leo and waited for his reaction. He expected him to be surprised, shocked, scared. He expected him to run away, scream, call for help. He expected him to hate him, fear him, reject him.

But he didn't.

He smiled.

He said, "That's cool. But I can do better."

He focused on the same trash can and made it explode with his mind. He felt the connection, the link, the bond. He felt the trash can shatter, burst, scatter. He felt the power, the thrill, the pleasure.

He looked at Alex and waited for his reaction. He expected him to be impressed, amazed, awed. He expected him to join him, follow him, worship him. He expected him to like him, admire him, love him.

And he did.

He smiled.

He said, "Wow. That's awesome. How did you do that?"

Leo said, "It's a secret. But I'll tell you, if you want. I'll tell you everything. I'll tell you who I am, what I can do, where I come from. I'll tell you why we have this power, and what we can do with it. I'll tell you our reason, our purpose, our destiny."

Alex said, "Yes, please. Tell me. I want to know. I want to learn. I want to be with you."

Leo said, "Okay. But first, let's get out of here. Let's go somewhere else. Somewhere where we can be alone. Somewhere where we can be free. Somewhere where we can be ourselves."

Alex said, "Okay. Where do you want to go?"

Leo said, "Anywhere. Everywhere. It doesn't matter. As long as we're together. As long as we're happy. As long as we're having fun."

He took Alex's hand and said, "Come on. Let's go."

He flew into the sky with his mind, taking Alex with him. He felt the wind in his hair, the sun on his face, the freedom in his soul. He felt the power, the thrill, the pleasure.

He looked at Alex and said, "Are you ready?"

Alex looked at him and said, "Yes. I'm ready."

He felt the spark, the connection, the bond. He felt the power, the thrill, the pleasure.

He was Alex. He was a shy and bullied teenager. He was a smart and lonely nerd.

But he was also something else.

He was a telekinetic.

He was a god.

And he had found his friend.

His name was Leo.

And he was like him.
