Prologue (Part I)

[3rd Person POV]

Upon waking up I was surrounded by greenery as far as I could see. I was stranded in some forest totally unbeknownst to me. Being puzzled by the situation I slowly stood up.

"Where... Is this place?" - ???

I asked myself as I looked at my surrounding and one thing for sure...

"This place... doesn't look like Japan." - ???

To add more of my confusion, I somehow can't remember anything about everything related to me. It's like something or someone has wiped out my memory about everything.

Suddenly, I noticed something flashing in front of me. There wasn't anything there a short while ago though.

"What is this?" - ???

It was a shining semi-transparent screen. Upon inspecting it closely, I was able to see a letter written on the screen. It really resembled the game menu of a video game.

[Welcome to Another World].

For an instant my thinking froze completely. Another World? Is this Another World the place I am at right now? While I was pondering this the letter on the screen change.

[Congratulations! You have successfully transferred to the Another World and been chosen as the Host of Persona System]

".... The what?" - ???

The voice that came from the screen ignored me and continued.

[Although the memory of the time before the transfer was erased, please do not worry as it was done for a greater good of the Host]

"What do you mean?" - ???

Yet, I have been ignored again by the voice.

[This is a World of Fantasy where Gods exists and Mortal is bestowed a power known as Vision.]

"...." - ???

In the end, I decided to go silent and go with what the System told me and not question anymore.

[Now, you have to learn about the skills you have been gifted before the transfer. Please say or think 'Menu']

"Okay? Menu." - ???

In the next moment the screen changed and displayed a standard array. Ah, as I expected, this was a screen often seen in games.

For some odd reason, I feel like I have heard about this Persona thing, but where? Regardless, for now I better take a look at this thing first.

"Character." - ???

Hyde: Hyde... ? Is this my name?

I asked the Voice only to be left unanswered.... as I expected.

But, the more I look at this, the more I feel that I have seen this thing before albeit different. Yet, I can't remember where and how I know it.

Also somehow, I feel some short of connection with The Fool Arcana that displays on the screen.

"Za.... Fūru (The.... Fool)" - Hyde

Suddenly, a card suddenly appeared in front of me only for it shattered as the next moment, I found myself in a completely different place.

"Where... am I?" - Hyde

The place I end up is quite.... interesting. The place is kinda an endless void that has been decorated with countless stars that shine.

As I am mesmerizing the beauty of my surroundings, I noticed a blue butterfly came flying past me.

Somehow, I feel a strong attraction to it as I follow where it flew only to see a path that never been there before came into view.

Confused yet curious. I follow the butterfly that leads the way into the path as the further I go, I notice a velvet color door in the distance.

The butterfly flew toward the door and stopped as it kinda waited and was kinda inviting me to enter the door.

As I arrived in front of it, I looked at the butterfly and asked it...

"Should I enter it?" - Hyde

"...." - Butterfly

"Very well. Have a nice day then." - Hyde

"..." - Butterfly

The butterfly then flew away as I followed where it went as I saw it flew and disappeared into nowhere. Now...

"I guess I have no choice am I?" - Hyde

When I opened up the door and enter it, I was greeted with a calming melody of piano and a female singer.

It's a really soothing melody despite the weirdness I am currently experiencing. Somehow, I feel a certain feeling of nostalgia and at the same feeling tranquility upon hearing it.

Regardless, upon entering the door, I find myself in a quite interesting place if I can say that. 

The entire place is painted in blue velvet colour, the bookshelf is neatly arranged and a mystical blue fog that came from the upper half of the place. If he has been honest, this place is kinda like....

"A Library?" - Hyde

"You can say that, my Dreamer." - ???

A voice came out of nowhere as I turned around to see who it was as it revealed to be a beautiful girl. The girl has short white hair and grey blue eyes.

"Who are you?" - Hyde

"I am Aurora and I am your Attendant, my Dreamer." - Aurora

I don't know why, but somehow... I feel I have meet her before. This feeling is both nostalgic and melancholy as I feel like I want to hug her and never let her go.

"I.... see. Have we... met before, Aurora?" - Hyde

I don't know but I feel that her eyes flash a trace of sadness before it has been replaced with I assume as fake happiness.

"I believe we haven't met yet as this is the first time we met." - Aurora

" I.... see. Then, it's nice to meet you, Aurora." - Hyde

I extend my hand for a handshake as Aurora looks at it and yet again, I somehow see her eyes filled with genuine happiness, nostalgia and melancholy. Just.... who are you and what is happening right now?

"Then, the pleasure is mine too, my Dreamer." - Aurora

She smile, takes my hand and shakes it. Suddenly, I feel some short surge of memories, no.... a flashback enter my head as I suddenly find myself in a different places.

In the flashback, there is Aurora standing in front of me, assuming to protect me from a monster on the background. As she turned to look at me, she gave me a sad smile as I somehow could hear her voice.

"Away from this place. I am sorry, my Dreamer. I may not be there when you wake up. But I will find you.... my Dreamer." - Aurora

I can't help but feel helpless of unable to reply or save her in the flashback. In the end, she continued to call me "Dreamer". Her sad smile hurt my heart greatly as my very soul screaming...

Save Her

Protect Her

and Love Her.

"...mer... my Dreamer?!" - Aurora

"Y- Yeah?" - Hyde (gasp)

"Are you... fine?" - Aurora (concern)

" Y- Yes, just in... a deep thought." - Hyde

".... I see." - Aurora

Both of us go silent as the situation becomes quite awkward. Aurora then opened her mouth and spoke.

"Then.... I believe we should meet the Master." - Aurora

"Master?" - Hyde

"Yes, he is the owner of the Velvet Room and he is currently waiting for you upstairs. Please follow me." - Aurora

"Very well." - Hyde

As we walked to the stairs heading upstairs I noticed that Aurora kept glancing at me. I want to ask if she knows about what I see but is uncertain whether to ask it or not.

In the end, I stay silent along the way to this "Master". As we arrived upstairs, I noticed a bizarre looking man sitting behind a table.

"Welcome to the Velvet Room." - ???
