Chapter 16

[ Accelerated perception: With the increase in speed and activity within the bodily systems of the host can enhance the host's physical performance to a great extent, as well as increasing these systems overall reaction speed, resulting in adrenaline, dopamine, and other endorphins to be produced quicker and the host being able to think, read, scan and comprehend concepts and ideas, and retain all said information in seconds while their powers are in use. Therefore, the host's mental speed and efficiency, as well as physical, is also enhanced to inhuman levels. They can see the world moving in slow motion, while others can only see you as a vibrating blur of light.]

[Speed Force sharing: With the host as the avatar of the Speed Force can share his powers temporarily with other people by physical contact.]

[Atmokinesis: With the host being the avatar of the speed force and having a very strong connection to the Speed Force can allow him to summon/produce cumulonimbus clouds which can produce electricity.]

[Electricity absorption: this is a skill that all speed force conduits have. A Speedsters can charge themselves with electricity from nearby electrical sources, essentially draining them and giving them an extra boost when running or throwing lightning.]

[Time travel:  This is an advanced skill that the host can use but he should be aware that there are consequences if he misuses it even if he is the avatar. The host can create a hole in the very fabric of space-time and travel through time by entering the Speed Force which is connected to all of time and space through the multiverse. This allows the host and every powerful speed force conduit to safely navigate the time stream while being protected from temporal alterations.]  

[Energy constructs: A user of the Speed Force with control over his lightning that they generate can produce constructs such as shurikens, lassos, and swords. The host can also use the very energy of the speed force to force construct when his level increases.]

Looking at the explanations of his abilities, Nathaniel couldn't but feel expectation at the prospect of using all these abilities but the one that brought him more joy was his time travel ability even though there were consequences.

"Being able to share the speed force also provides me a way to protect Alex and Felicity if something dangerous were to happen."

Nathaniel became worried about his girls after he learned of his future nemesis and also about the world changing into the era of superhumans from Alexia yesterday but this ability gave him a sense of relief. An idea came to his head as he can not be present at the side always, he decided to create a device that can harness and store in speed force to provide them with the abilities of a speedster temporally.

After coming to that conclusion, Nathaniel checked out the other abilities that he gained. He already knew that he has "Accelerated perception" since he used it even before he levelled up so he did hinder on that one and checked out the others.

The first ability Nathaniel tried was the "Energy constructs" which allows him to create physical objects from his lightning and in the near future, from his speed force energy

CHIRP!!!

Nathaniel coated his right hand with his lightning and decided to form it into a blade but it didn't work on the first try so he focussed on the lightning around his hand and picture the image of the object he wanted to form in his mind and started shaping the lightning according to the image until a white dagger that contained the sound of thousands of chirping within was created.

"Although not perfect but it's awesome."

Nathaniel looked at the dagger in his hand with an impressed expression. He continued to practice with the skill until he was able to create basic constructs without much focus as he did at the beginning.

"I can't test out to see how strong my Atmokinesis is with my current level in the city so I will have to find a safe place to practice that later. Time travelling is also out because I don't need it as of right now... so that leaves me with Electricity absorption and that too is pretty risky to use without drawing attention to myself. I can feel the amount of energy that is inside me and there is no end to it so who knows what will happen if I try to absorb the electricity, I might end up draining the whole city of its energy. I should just try out my current speed first."

Nathaniel thought carefully about the use of his other abilities after he was done with the "Energy constructs" and came to realize that most of them were too powerful to try out without gaining control of his current power level so he decided to test his speed.

With that decision made, Nathaniel changed from his attire and wore a black training suit. The suit was made with special materials that have great resistance to friction so its purpose is to help him train with his speed. Nathaniel got onto the treadmill and started running.

SWOOSH!!

SIZZLE!!!

Nathaniel started running at a slow and stable speed while increasing his speed with every second that passed until he was running at full speed. While running, Nathaniel noticed that the lightning that his body was exuding has become more powerful than it was before and also his control over his speed was gradually increasing.

'This feeling is exhilarating.'

Nathaniel thought to himself while focusing all his attention on himself so that what happened yesterday couldn't happen again.

Nathaniel's house. 6:00 pm.

Currently, it is nighttime in Central City and at the entrance of Nathaniel's house, you could see both Alex and Felicity standing at the door. Alex opened the door after she waited for a few seconds and they both entered.

"Nathaniel! We are back!"

Both of them called out to Nathaniel the moment they entered the house but there was no response. They then started checking the living room but they saw no sign of him ever being there today.

"Hmm, he is not here. I will check upstairs while you try to call him, okay."

After they did not find Nathaniel, Alex came up with an idea and left to look for him upstairs while leaving Felicity to call him.

Meanwhile, inside the Speed Lair, Nathaniel could be seen sitting in front of the monitors with his head on the table with his eyes closed. Yes, he was taking a nap but that was interrupted when his phone started going off.

PHONE RINGING!!

"Uhm... Who is calling me right now... oh! Alex and Felicity are back."

Nathaniel woke up when his phone started ringing and said in a dejected tone but when he raised up his head from the desk, his eyes caught both Alex and Felicity on one of the monitors that were displaying footage of his entire house. He quickly took his phone and saw that the caller ID was Felicity and he picked it up.

"Hi, Felicity. Are you guys back?"

"Yes, but where are you? You told Alex earlier that you had something to tell us."

"The two of you should come to the basement, I will tell you everything when you get here, okay."

"Okay."

Felicity hung up the call and Nathaniel saw her call out to Alex who was upstairs from the monitor and they both moved towards the basement after Alex came down.

"Alexia, open the doors for them when they arrive."

["Okay, Nathaniel."]

A few seconds after Alexia's response, the door to the speed lair retracted and opened up a passageway for Alex and Felicity who were starting at the place with surprised looks on their faces.

"Well, Alex, Felicity, Welcome to my lair"

A gentle smile appeared on Nathaniel's lips when he saw their expression, he then opened up his arms and welcomed them.

"Nathaniel! Explain."

Both of the girls came out of their surprised states and demanded an explanation the moment Nathaniel and so Nathaniel began to tell the how he gain his speed and the other things but he left out some important information such as the system and his reincarnation.
