Chapter 15

"So can you please sign the document and I will show you around the facility after I introduce you to the employees of the Lab."

Christina tossed a pen towards Nathaniel and asked him to sign the papers. Nathaniel nodded his head and signed them without wasting any time while also sighing in relief as they did not ask him any questions about him receiving the inheritance.

Lawyer Timothy bid his farewell after Nathaniel was done signing the papers leaving him alone with Christina. Christina took out her phone and then dial her assistant's contact and then called.

"Hello, I want you to inform all employees who are available in the facility to assemble at the conference room within the next fifteen minutes... If you don't mind me asking, Mr Allen, what is your relationship with Willson."

Christina hung up the call before focussing her attention on Nathaniel with a curious gaze as she asked him the question. She has been curious about the relationship between the Allen family and her partner ever since he supposedly dead but through her investigations she found little to no clue at all about their relationship so she decided to ask Nathaniel directly.

SIGH!

Nathaniel who has prepared himself for this question sighed to himself as he gazed into Christina's eyes with a curiosity of his own before he started talking.

"To be honest with you, I didn't know my family's relationship with the man until yesterday after you called me. I became curious about him so I asked my father about it and he told me he was a distant relative of my mother and that was all so I was hoping you could tell me more about him."

Nathaniel's gaze was so genuine that Christina believed him the moment she saw that fake sadness that Nathaniel display when he said Willson was a distant relative of his mother.

"I-I'm sorry if that was a sensitive question but I don't mind telling you about him."

Nathaniel nodded his head when Christina said she could tell him about his future self and so for the next fifteen minutes Christina told Nathaniel all she knew about Willson and almost all she said were praises.

Nathaniel was somehow kinda impressed at himself because, from Christina's words, he was a great man although he was still a pervert.

"Thank you so much for what you have told me."

"You are welcome and I will be happy to tell you anything you want to know about him."

Nathaniel thanked Christina which brought a smile to her face as talking about an old friend who helped her accomplish her dream really made her happy.

A few seconds after Nathaniel and Christina stopped talking, the door to the conference room open up and almost all the employees of the facility came in one after the other and took their seats.

"Everyone, I'm very sure most of you are surprised about this sudden conference but trust me this is important. The reason I called you here is to introduce you people to this gentleman sitting next to me, he is Mr Nathaniel Henry Allen and as of today, he will be taking on the position of co-head of this research facility so I hope you show him the same respect that you showed me..."

Christina got up from her seat when everyone was present and introduced Nathaniel to them. Some of the showed expressions of surprise and some were also impressed at Nathaniel because for someone as young as him to occupy such a position.

Nathaniel also got up from his seat after Christina was done and gave a little speech he prepared in advance before everyone present started to introduce themselves to him.

It took an hour and a few minutes for the meeting between Nathaniel and the employees of the facility to come to an end and currently, you can see him along with Christina who was giving him a tour around the facility were in an elevator heading to the lowest level of the facility. They have been doing this for an hour now through which Nathaniel has been able to see every search department in the facility.

DING!

The elevator opened up when it got to the floor and both Nathaniel and Christina stepped out and walked towards the only office on this floor.

"Nathaniel, here is our final destination."

Christina said that to Nathaniel when they arrived in front of the office door.

"Why is that?"

Nathaniel asked her curiously even though he had some ideas about why she wanted to leave him alone.

"This office belonged to Willson he was still alive but now it's yours to do as see fit to this place."

Christina started walking towards the elevator after she said that and left the floor after she got inside leaving only Nathaniel on the floor.

"This seems normal? I was expecting some kind of surprise. Huh?!"

Nathaniel entered the office with the expectation of finding something interesting in the office but he was disappointed at first glance because the office looked as ordinary as it can get but a few seconds later, that disappointed look disappeared as the special key he received yesterday started vibrating in his pocket.

"I knew this place can't be normal."

Nathaniel took out the device from his pocket and what happened yesterday after he pressed the lightning emblem happened again. Nathaniel watched as the device flew towards the office, it settled on top then discharged a wave of electricity through the table and something magnificent happened.

Nathaniel watched on as the ordinary-looking table started disappearing bit by bit like some kind of a holographic interface and a second later, the normal table appearance disappeared completely and in its place was a glass table that had multiple holographic files floating above it. The table was like something from a Sci-fi movie.

"Alexia, show me all files that you have of Dr Harrison Wells."

["As you wish."]

Nathaniel walked towards the table and took a seat before it and instructed Alexia to bring up everything she had on Harrison Wells. Slexia did as told and within a second, dozens of holographic interfaces appeared before Nathaniel and he started going through them one after the other.

It has been a few hours since Nathaniel occurred his position as the co-head of Mercury Labs and also started through Harrison Wells's files. Currently, you could see him walking out of an elevator and heading for the exit of the facility with his phone in his hand with Alex's contact ID on it.

"Hey, Alex. Where are you currently?"

Nathaniel asked Alex's whereabouts when she picked up the call.

["I'm at jitters with Felicity and Iris, is there something wrong?"]

"No, nothing is wrong. I just wanted to inform you and Felicity about something but since you guys are busy we can talk about it later when you get home, you guys should take care of yourselves and I love you."

[""We love you too?""]

"It seems like it's just you and me for the rest of the day."

Nathaniel hung up the call and thought to himself as the image of the treadmill that gave him a concoction yesterday came into his mind before he went for his car and left Mercury Labs.

The reason why Nathaniel called Alex earlier to inquire about her where about was because he had decided to let them know about his superpowers. He wanted to tell them yesterday but because of some obvious reasons, he couldn't.

Nathaniel got home after spending half an hour in traffic but since he wasn't in a hurry he wasn't bothered by it. Nathanial went straight to the underground lair right after he entered the house.

"Yesterday because I fell unconscious I wasn't able to check the benefits I gained after I broke my first limiter. System, show me my current status."

Instead of him heading straight for the treadmill when he entered the base, Nathaniel decided to explore his skills before testing his speed again.
