Gold mine

Early in the morning a royal decree was released about the selection of the crown princess. All the young miss from the aristotic family of the Jin dynasty and foreign princess were invited to participate for the selection of the crown princess.

The city buzzed with excitement as the news of the royal decree spread through the streets.

Si Huan and her mother, Si Jia, sat side by side drinking tea in the peaceful garden of the Si mansion. The air was filled with the sweet scent of budding flowers.

Si Jia turned to face her daughter after carefully putting her tea cup down on the table. She asked, "Did you meet the crown prince at the royal banquet yesterday?"

Si Huan lowered her gaze with a hint of sadness in her voice.

"No, mother. I tried to start a conversation with his royal highness, but he seemed to be not interested on me . He did not even recognize me," she replied, her voice filled with disappointment

Hearing her daughter's words, Madam Si smiled .

"Do not be sad my daughter. You are destined to be the future Queen of the Jin dynasty," she said, her eyes brimming with confidence.

Si Huan looked up at her mother, her eyes sparkling with hope. She asked her mother, with curiosity , "How is that possible, mother?"

" Have you forget whose daughter you are??"

"You are the daughter of Prime minister Si Lan and mine. Just rest assured and prepare for the selection of the crown princess" Madam Si Jia said with a touch of playfulness in her tone.

Suddenly a guard walked up to them and bowed respectfully while they were in the middle of a chat. He added, his voice respectful but rush, "I apologize for the inconvenience, Madam Si.

Although Madam Si was not satisfied with the guard interrupting them but thinking that the guard was her son Si Muan personal guard Madam Si didn't said anything.

" Say why did you came here?" Madam Si asked.

" Madam Si , General Si had sended this message to you" Saying this he hands the scroll to Madam Si. He bowed his head further and walked away from there.

Madam Si looked at the scroll and starts reading. Slowly slowly her expressionless face changes into a smile.

Opposite to her , her daughter young miss Si Huan becomes curious seeing her mother smile. Out of curiosity she asked" "Mom, what's with your smile? What message did you receive from older brother??".

Madam Si smiled brightly as she placed the scroll gently on the table. "I am truly overjoyed today. I, your father, and the entire Si clan are extremely pleased because of your older brother". she continued with a proud tone in her voice.

Young Miss Si excitedly leaned forward. "How, mom? She asked, "What has older brother done?".

As she shared the good news, Madam Si's eyes sparkled with joy. she said , her voice sparkling with victory. "The Gu dynasty was conquered by the Jin dynasty a few months ago. As you are aware, when a minor kingdom is conquered by the Jin dynasty, it becomes one of provinces of the Jin dynasty. Now, your older brother is going to govern the Gu province".

Si Huan's brows furrowed as she listened to her mother's words. She couldn't quite understand the importance of her big brother's new position. With disappointment in her voice she said"But, mother, what's so special about being the head of a province? It's just a regular post. I would have preferred our elder brother to continue his role as a general or take after father's position,"

"My sweet, I understand your viewpoint, however leading a province comes with a lot of responsibility and power. Your brother will be an important part of the Gu province's"

Saying this Madam Si's eyes twinkled mischievously as she leaned closer to her daughter. Her voice dropped into a soft whisper, increasing Si Huan's curiosity.

"Shh, my dear, this is a secret known only to a few. The Gu province, where your brother will be the head, holds a hidden treasure—a gold mine," Madam Si revealed, her voice filled with excitement.

Si Huan exclaimed in disbelief, her eyes widened in a mixture of shock and joy. "Gold mine? Do you really mean that, mother?"

Madam Si noded her head in conformation with a face looking serious." Yes, my sweet. A large mine of gold, a priceless resource that can lead to prosperity and fortune of the Si clan , is been found in the Gu province. It is a secret that needs to be carefully protected. With this Our Si clan will be more prosperous and rich . So how can you not be the Future Queen of the Jin dynasty".

Young miss Si smiled grew wider hearing her mother. Now she was more confident that she will be the future queen of the Jin dynasty with her clan power, influence and wealth.
