The Golden Knights (2)

Just as Tiger left, the spiritual beasts launched their attack! They didn't delay, having seen these humans chasing the person inside the cave. Even they didn't dare get near him, much less let these intruders harm him.

"ROOOOAAAARR!!"

The Legendary Beast roared loudly, issuing a command. All flying spiritual beasts launched their attacks from above, while on the ground, a variety of beasts—apes, tigers, wolves, and other mutated creatures—charged forward. Though weaker than the humans, they outnumbered them by thirty to one.

"ATTACK!!" Tian Gu ordered, dashing toward the incoming onslaught. Their mission was to find a woman and bring her back to the King. He couldn't understand why the spiritual beasts were acting as a united front, suspecting it was the Legendary Beast's doing.

Hidden in the shadows, the Legendary Beast waited for the right moment to strike. As Tian Gu and the Golden Knights battled their way forward, they found themselves overwhelmed. For every beast they killed, another took its place. This was the spiritual beast's territory, after all, and reinforcements were endless.

Despite being engrossed in the fight, Tian Gu kept an eye on his surroundings. He needed to locate and eliminate the Legendary Beast to end this relentless battle and continue their mission.

-----------------------------------

Yi Ling, who had been inside the cave, was now fleeing. The Legendary Beast's roar had alerted her to the ongoing battle outside. Unbeknownst to anyone, the roar was intended to alert Yi Ling, urging her to run away. And run she did.

She grabbed all her herbs and dashed out of the cave, heading in the opposite direction of the battle. She moved slowly, burdened by her precious load, but she couldn't leave the herbs behind. They were her priceless treasures, essential for concoctions to make herself stronger for her journey back to Feng Kingdom.

"Mu Xin, where are you?" she prayed, hoping for his help.

-----------------------------------

A few hours later, King Jin arrived at the battlefield. He had used all his power to get there as fast as possible but was still frustrated by his perceived slowness. Yu Ran and Tiger lagged behind, struggling to catch up. Upon hearing that the spiritual beasts were acting strangely, King Jin felt a sense of dread. How could he forget that she was the Omen?

The Omen could be either good or bad, depending on the situation it grew up in. If she fell into enemy hands, it could spell disaster for Jin Kingdom. Though no one dared to offend him, it didn't mean he had no enemies. He couldn't let them have her!

As he arrived, he saw the battle still raging. Tian Gu was fighting a massive bear beast—the Legendary Beast. Tian Gu had located it and attacked relentlessly, with his comrades acting as his vanguard, protecting their leader.

King Jin's purple eyes darkened. He didn't have time for this.

"Yu Ran! Handle this matter! This King has other matters to attend to!" King Jin's voice echoed so loudly that even Yu Ran, who was hundreds of li away, could hear. Yu Ran and Tiger quickened their pace, feeling a cold chill down their spines. The Golden Knights heard it too, unaware of the King's arrival until now. With the Dragon, Yu Ran, ordered to help, they fought with renewed ferocity.

Next to the King, the strongest was Yu Ran, the Dragon. Though he preferred to hide his strength, making people think he was merely a trusted subordinate, his power was unmatched.

King Jin flicked his sleeve and disappeared, dashing toward the cave. He had sensed her aura entering it. He should have handled this personally from the start, he thought, gritting his teeth. The girl had stirred emotions in him he couldn't comprehend, so he had analyzed them first and let his subordinates handle the search. He didn't anticipate this outcome. She had taken him on an emotional rollercoaster, more stubborn than his little sister!
