The memory (2)

Qorex was feeling hopeless and scared. The moment he touched the last customer's shoulder, everything, everyone turned their head and started staring at him, laughing. He, Qorex was unable to move or speak, only able to shiver in fear. Though everyone used to call him fearless, he had lots of fears.

Qorex started losing all his strength as he remembered a memory. A memory he tried to forget about, also the main reason he had this fear.

That one moment from 5th grade. He was supposed to read a poem which someone else was supposed to read which suddenly got sick and couldn't come. Qorex was forced to memorize it in less than 1 hour which wasnt easy for a kid. When he went to the stage and started reading it, right in the middle of it, while everyone was staring and noone was talking he stopped. He forgot everything. The audience kept staring and started whispering to each other, and eventually started laughing. Qorex was overwhelmed and started crying.

His bullies were the main reason he started crying. They had promised him that they won't bully him anymore if he didn't make any mistake while reading which he accepted fastly. The bullies weren't planning to leave him alone in the first place. They knew Qorex would fuck up. Their laugh was the loudest and the most humiliating thing he had heard. He used to get bullied for being… there wasn't any reason at all. He just became the target of some 6-7th grade bullies with a gang named "Skull crushers". There were 12 of them with 4 being from 6th and 8 from 7th grade. Noone helped him, not even the teachers. They were either "too busy" or just "didn't see" to care. The kind teachers and the students all were aware of their low status so they couldn't do anything about it.

The bullying continued till 7th grade. That was when Qorex meet Rios. His life saver. Rios was a new transfer student from another school. Qorex was in 7th grade while he was in 8th. Rios was the only kid with high status expect the bullies. There indeed were other kids that used to get bullied by the same gang but Qorexs case was the only one everyone knew. The other kids werent allowed to tell them or were getting bullied outside the school. The principal couldn't get them expelled since they had high status.

Rios and Qorex meet at the cafeteria thanks to the loud noises. He was getting bullied again by the 8th and 9th graders. His hair was getting pulled just like how it happens in the movies. His face was covered with food and he had a nosebleed. Crying and begging them to stop, doing all the useless stuff even bribing them with some money. Rios was just sitting there and watching them. Those were common things in his old school. The bullies left after a while, leaving him in tears. Thats when Rios got up and walked there. He bent down and reached out for him. They both got up and Qorex left running after thanking him. Rios asked some people about who he was and what had been going on and learned about his name and class.

"Shut up.. Shitt.. Just shut the fuck up!"

Qorex started running straight to his house, bumping into some people yet not even looking back. He messed up the way and went the wrong direction. It was a dark alley. All there were some stray cats and alcohol cans. Qorex felt an unusual familiarity but didn't think about it much. Qorex sat down and started cussing to Rios. Still thankful to him. Qorex saw a stray cat that had a cut and was bleeding. He immediately got up and went near it to make sure its not a hallucination. It indeed wasn't a hallucination and the cat was bleeding. Qorex took the cat in his arms and started running towards the closest vet making sure not touching the cut. Took him about 4 minutes by using some shortcuts.

Qorex went out and started walking toward his house, it was getting dark. He checked the time on his phone and it was already past 20.00.

"Wha-? It's not even that dark hows it 20.13 already?!?"

It had been exactly 10 hours since Qorex went out and he still hasn't eaten anything. Qorex started running home after realizing and remembering that he was and is hungry. He already was drooling by just imagining some fast-food. Quickly wiped his face and stopped to breathe. Stood up, started running again, remembered about the cat. "The cat! Shitt…." Qorex thought but there was no way he was going to run back all the way for a cat. He wasn't even a cat person. He was standing in front of his apartment trying to find his keys. "No way I forgot that.."

Qorex was finally back with the keys.. and the cat. As soon as he opened the door he collapsed to the ground. Could be the worst day he had but he wasn't living alone anymore! He got a cat!! Qorex checked the time again and it was 21.02 already. He had bought some extra stuff for his cat on the way: a bed, some toys and cat food. Qorex poured the food to the least useful plastic bowl he could find and another one for the water. The cat ate it without waiting while Qorex was dying inside. He ordered a medium size pizza while watching the cat eat his money, a tear falled down his face after realizing where 1/3 of his money will be going to. Qorex sighed and remembered what happened, the cat made him forgot it. Still no idea about what had happened.

The door bell ranged, just as he was about to fall asleep. He payed then.. nothing he just started eating. That shit was slow as hell but also tasty as hell. Mew was watching her target closely, making sure Qorex isn't looking and then.. she stole a piece of pizza with her paw.

"!? You can do that?"
