The Key

Inside a massive underground structure that is weirdly in the shape of a giant dilapidated key, there a dark figure is running around like a rabid animal.

"I must be going crazy!"

I said to no one in particular as I kept running. Knowing that this may be the last thing that I do before finally succumbing from my injuries I still kept going.

'My legs hurt'. Even still I keep sprinting like never before not even daring to look back at the mess I had just made.

I slow down to a stop as I see someone blocking my way. He's massive, holding a monstrously large axe, and he stares at me menacingly.

"Traitorous thief!"

"Oh, You just found out? I thought I already told you about my class". I smile at him smugly.

"Just give me back the key and I promise to let you leave unharmed".

I reach in my pockets, relishing in the feeling of a golden key adorned with crystals at the edges, they somehow make it look and feel even more valuable than it already was.

"Sure I'll give it to you... in hell that is". Before the man could even have the chance to react to what I had just said, I threw a small crystal stone at him. Turning around and quickly closing my eyes. I prepared for the light show to begin.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A spectacle of bright lights shone through the area blinding me even as my eyes were closed. "Aaghhh! Y-you bastard!". I didn't waste the opportunity this gave me as I once again ran for my life. Even though I'm still 'temporarily' blind I can still remember the path to freedom.

I hear him shouting again. "Go get that key!"

'Great, just as I had gotten rid of him more of them showed up. Well I guess it's not all bad, it's not like most of them are stronger than him anyway, in fact they might not even be as fast as me even though I'm injured.'

"Stop!". I hear from one of the faster ones behind me. I turn my head around opening my closed eyes slowly and say in a sarcastically serious tone, "What about... no?". for some reason he seems flabbergasted that I even rejected him.

With me regaining my sight though still a bit blurry, I realize something "Woops... I went the wrong way". I turn to run back from where I came from and see the guy I rejected with a bunch of people running past me never even batting an eye as to why I was going the other direction. That was until they finally recognized me. The shock in the faces of those chasing after me as they realized I went past them was glorious.

Finally going the right way I saw the exit to this dungeon. 'Why does the dungeon have to be this large? It's supposed to only store this small key'. I eventually got out through the exit, but I still have to run faster to escape them with the terrain being a forest.

Still, even if the forest is great for somebody escaping like me, it is still very much dangerous because there is monstrous wildlife everywhere.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pov: Axe man

"It still hurts"

"Of course it hurts you got hit by an overloaded mana stone directly and you're lucky it only hurts, you could have been blinded permanently"

after an hour of the thief escaping I had regained my sight, it seems that not closing my eyes in time for that explosion was a big mistake.
