A week has passed since he started training with Rinko. Now something was definitely up.
A lot of students were gathering to the gym, and through curiosity he decided to go inside.
"So this is the day, huh...." Cid spoke as he stood inside the Gym with all his classmates, and many students that were present.
It was clear that they don't know what's happening, and some probably aren't that interested in listening to announcements.
But now that there were certain individuals that he could consider was an important character that drives the plot.
Asai Koujirou was his name and he is the current Prime Minister of Japan.
He was observing the students with a gentle smile as the faculty and staff of the academy talked to each other, even Asagi.
With enough speculation, Cid concluded that he's the one who will drive the plotlines for the lucky, or unlucky side characters and background characters.
The prime minister faked a cough to make the Trainee Taimanin's focus on him.
"I see you're expecting something from me. Therefore I'm not going to stop myself from saying it: you are here because I needed your assistance, and prove your worth as secret defenders of this precious country.
You may be weak, you may be strong, you may think of yourself as either. But fret not, these missions I give you are relatively simple and needed mostly your information gathering techniques."
A moment of silence came from him as he glanced at the excited expressions from the students below him.
"But, for safety measures, we will not pick any freshmen, only those who are considered good enough by us, not just through grades but also through their dedication will be picked. Also, for this week, 50 squads will be formed and the respective Squad Leaders can choose what to do with their squad if necessary.
Several squads can also form together to become units, that will be better than simply becoming squads, right?
Soon, the chosen will be sent to different parts of Japan after given instructions from Section Three, and your teachers.
Thank you for listening."
The freshmen were dismayed, but they all understood the reason and clapped together with the hundreds.
Nobody with a brain would just randomly send literal newbies to the job, right?
Even with simple equipment, and little to no experience, the Squad Leaders are those who are two months away from graduating from this academy will be teaching the necessary stuff to the lower-classmen.
Naturally, since all Taimanin are already above average in abilities compared to the average military soldier, all squads and units will have the regular requirement of having three people per squad.
There are special missions that were hard to clear, requiring units of Taimanin to be able to finish that certain mission.
Anyway, it was time for Asai and several teachers to begin picking up many names.
Among those names they first picked up were: Rinko Akiyama, Tokiko Fuuma, Kirara Onisaki, and a few more. They were probably going to become squad leaders, and due to th
The second, who were possibly members of the soon-to-be-made squads, were Yukikaze Mizuki, Sakura Igawa, and a few more background characters.
Cid is among the ones who were called last, alongside Tatsurou, and many background characters.
Once called, the ones who weren't mentioned were dismissed, leaving 150 students in the area. Soon, the Squad Leaders were allowed to pick whoever they wanted to choose.
It was pretty obvious that Rinko had chosen both Yukikaze and Tatsurou, while several Squad Leaders formed squads together to create units.
And of course, Cid was left alone not because he doesn't know what squad or unit he should be in, but because he wanted to observe just for a bit.
Someone as average as a mob would, after all, not be recognizable all the time.
That was until Yukikaze approached him.
"Cid, you fool! Come over here!" She said with an impatient gesture, pulling him close to her squad when he was close enough.
"Eh, why?" He asked.
"You're joining our squad, whether you like it or not. Understand?" She replied with a small pout.
Cid almost scratched his head, as he was at least hoping he wouldn't really need to join them. But, since the other squads have been formed, there was no chance for him to be somewhere.
Anyway, once all the squads/units were formed, they all stood separately from each other silently, even though some of their mouths moved to communicate with each other
Then, Asai glanced at Yamamoto and nodded at him, signaling the time of his speech.
"Thank you for letting me have my speech, sir. Now that your squads and units are ready, you will soon show your abilities under the shadows, and make Japan safe. For that is your duty as Taimanin.
Now, state your squad's or unit's names!"
The first to come forward was the girl named Tokiko, introducing her unit as the Scouting Unit. It is self explanatory.
There was the Taimanin Fire Brigade, a unit full of Flame Art users.
The Squad of Rinko Akiyama, Tatsurou Akiyama, Yukikaze Mizuki and Cid Kagenou.
And several more.
Asai specifically glanced straight towards their squad, his intentions looking murky.
"Wonderful. Simply wonderful, though they will be unsung heroes, I have big hopes with all of them since they're talented individuals." He said with a smile.
"Now, let us meet and greet each other in the Section Three's building. I'd like to know you better, that's all."
Later.....
Asai had thought that each and every one of the recently formed Taimanin were exceptional, as expected of them.
Each had their own exceptional skills, even beauty could be counted as exceptional.
Especially when most, of not of the women were in what the more cultured people will call "fetish gear".
Basically, they all have special rubber suits that allow them to easily channel their Taima Particles around their body for a lot of reasons.
It was an interesting experience, however, he doubted they'd be enough to keep the corruption coming from the Demons and the politicians collaborating with them at bay.
After all, what kind of politician isn't corrupt? Even he considers himself a corrupt person despite his achievements in raising the near future of Japan.
No sooner had he returned his attention to reality than the last squad that had been formed had entered the room.
They were the squad that Rinko Akiyama had led, and like the other squads and units, they have a promising future.
The four were in their Taimanin Suits. Rinko wore a purple bodysuit that showed part of her underboobs.
Yukikaze was wearing something reminiscent of a swimsuit alongside long gloves and boots of black, red, and white reaching up to her lower body.
Tatsurou was in his generic Ninja clothing, while Cid was wearing a purple and black-colored Taimanin Suit reminiscent of Shadow's clothing.
"Introduce yourselves to me along with your Ninja Art. I need no introductions as I already did that hours ago," he said, keeping his smile.
"Rinko Akiyama, from the Akiyama Clan, user of Void Arts. Pleased to meet you, sir!"
"Yukikaze Mizuki of the Mizuki Clan, daughter of Shiranui Mizuki, and a user of Lightning Arts."
"Tatsurou Akiyama of the Akiyama Clan, sir! I am a Wind Arts user, though it hasn't fully awakened, I will do my best!"
"Cid Kagenou, a Void Art user. Nice to meet you."
The Prime Minister nodded his head and began his debriefing.
"Because you are last to be given a mission directly by me, you know this is a national emergency, right? Wrong, that's for me to decide.
Your mission is simply to go undercover in Tokyo to investigate any demon-related incidents, and take out any demon you find. But be aware since there are politicians interacting with them. Sadly, you are unable to kill them according to your laws."
He spoke, before nodding his head twice.
"But, feel free to interrogate and lightly injure them in the process. That would allow us to gain more intel on the forces trying to take over Japan from the shadows, and take them down!" At the end of his sentence, he slammed his fist on the table.
"You are to be given necessary supplies for the duration of your mission, understood?"
"Yes, sir!"
"Pack your stuff, tomorrow you will be sent to Tokyo. After this, I will reward you if you give anything very significant. Don't forget to call for reinforcements, okay?"
When they left, Asai's smile became brighter. At this point, his work as the most important person in Japan will at least be a bit lighter to him.

Cid sat on the soft seat inside the van taking them to Tokyo as he wondered what events would be brought to him there.
It was nothing serious as the plotline of Yukikaze and Rinko that he perceived was moving smoothly as expected.
Because hours would have to pass before they'd arrive there, Yukikaze had rested her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes as she slept soundly.
"Cid, I didn't know that you had the ability to use the Void Art like me. Care to explain?" Rinko asked from behind them, and thinking of an answer, Cid scratched his hair.
"Eh... I've only awakened this ability months ago, and for now I can instantaneously move stuff anywhere I like, for 15 meters at maximum." He answered.
"I see.... Then that's good. You need to train your Ninja Art as much as possible then."
'So... Does this mean I'm a Side Character now? That means I'm half assed important and half as unimportant to the plot!'
On the sidelines, Tatsurou watched with envy as Rinko and Cid interacted with each other, wishing he had the confidence Cid had.
