Downfalls - Agnes

It's almost midnight and I am looming in the shadows of the corridor. My eyes pierce through the thick fabric of that drapes of the corridor and covers it with the blackness of the night. The grand clock down the hall suggests that I will be waiting here for a while. I allow my mind to drift off to other plans that I have. To Riana and that girl Nina who is still missing and shall remain missing. My thoughts are shattered as I hear a blood curdling scream echo through the hall. I run as fast as my legs will take me. I slid the corner and grab onto Walters doorway as I swing myself into his room. A palace guards has him held up by the throat. I can hear Walters strangled breaths. All I know is that he is still breathing for now.

"Drop him!" I yell at the guard and stare at him with piercing eyes.

The guard shifts his weight and turns out to wards the open window. He walks close to it then holds his arm out straight. Walter now dangles above the window, the only thing keeping him from death is the soldiers grip around his throat.

"You want me to drop him? It won't affect me but I feel it is best that you change your choices of words, for his sake."

I take a deep breath in. I speak in a voice that is a bit sweeter and is unlike my own, "Put him down, or your master will be unhappy."

And so the guard places Walter back down. I grab onto him and yell for the other guards to come quickly. When the other soldiers arrive, they immediately call in the medics. Walter is taken away on a stretcher whilst the man who convicted the crime is grabbed and dragged to the dungeon. Riana walks in, "Master, your plan is finally coming together."

"Yes Riana, that plan did work out the way I wanted it to. Now you go. I have more work to do."
