Chapter 46: A Night of Firsts
Alex took deep breaths as her steps brought her closer and closer to Birdy's front door. Tonight was the night that she was finally going to take Birdy out on a date.
She had taken the other woman's directive to "sweep her off her feet" very seriously and it was only adding to her anxiety. She couldn't remember the last time she had actually been on a first date, especially with anyone she cared for as deeply as she did for Birdy.
Alex just hoped that Birdy would enjoy the evening with her and that it would bring them closer.
She shook her head with a slight laugh as she reached Birdy's door, pausing for a moment before knocking. As she waited for the other woman to answer the door, she briefly worried about her outfit - she'd chosen to wear a red coordinated outfit that consisted of a square neck crop top and a long, sheath skirt with black strappy heels.
"You look beautiful," Birdy said immediately after she opened the door and beamed at Alex. "Are those for me?"
