Chapter 32: Careful What You Wish For
"You look beautiful tonight," Dale complimented as he pulled Birdy into a one-armed, half hug and kissed her cheek.
"Thanks," Birdy flushed as she smiled up at him. She was wearing one of her own designs, a deep red satin, vintage inspired mini dress with a square neckline. She had paired it with black, platform pumps and a black satin clutch.
After their first date, Dale had taken Birdy out on a few excursions, like lunch in the park during his break or stopping by to get ice cream after dinner. Despite her best intentions, Birdy had found her heart softening to him - this Dale was the version that she had fallen in love with and she couldn't resist.
Tonight they had agreed to meet outside the restaurant, at Dale's insistence. This time, he'd made a reservation at another upscale restaurant called "The Meridian". It was considered one of the best gourmet seafood restaurants in the city, and Birdy was impressed.
