"You have to be kidding me!" snapped Harley as she stared at the head maid who was looking at her like she was some sort of bug, the head maid could squash at any moment. Harley was stunned, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was sacked from her job as the lady in waiting for the Dragon Queen? How can that be? Yakov promised her that as long as she wanted, she could act as she pleased. So, why was it that she was suddenly fired from her job? And was reduced to a meagre maid? " head maid there has to be some sort of mistake here, there is no way that the Queen will fire me from her acting lady in waiting."

The head maid glanced at Harley truth be told she had no sympathy for this maid, she pretended to be nice and acted like she was the best among everyone else but the truth was, she was nothing different or unique from the rest of the maids working here. In fact with her powers as a mere omega and poor family background, she should have never been promoted as the lady in waiting of the Dragon Queen but the first consort was the one who suggested it and back then he was in charge of touch matters like hiring and handing out positions to the acting maids.

And since Harley was in Yakov's good books she was able to snatch that position from someone more deserving but now the main consort was no longer in charge of taking care of such matters and thus, The head maid could finally take this matter in her hands and fire all those who were working in positions that they don't deserve. Of course, she could have taken care of many others before coming to Harley but she has been taking care of Brianna since the latter was a baby and a woman snatching Bree's mates right under her nose? That was something that the Head maid will never allow to happen.

Even if those mates were something that the Dragon Queen didn't want, it wasn't a maid's turn to snatch those mates from her Queen.

" There are no mistakes, Miss Vincent," said The Head maid promptly, her face stoic and cold but her eyes —— her eyes were two infernos of cold fury. " I don't think that I need to remind you, how you got that position. If not for the main consort you would have spent the rest of the time working in the laundry department, but now times are different thanks to someone and their ambitious plans, the powers of the main consort have been taken away by her majesty. Therefore, all the decisions taken by the main consort's are hereby null and void, so Miss Vincent please remember to report to the laundry department first thing tomorrow morning." clipped the head maid before turning around to leave however, just as she reached the threshold of Harley's room, she paused and took a glimpse around her fancy room. " And I will have to trouble you with cleaning this room up since the new lady in waiting will be moving in here soon."

Then with a slam of the door, The Head maid walked out.

Pure rage coursed through Harley and even her ever peaceful canary reached out and pecked against her surface. No, she will never accept this, she was so close to becoming the Queen and getting the love of those gorgeous four men, how can she accept something like this?

" System, what happened? Shouldn't the plan of executing that Dragon Queen should be in motion? How come it's the consorts who were sacked one by one? What went wrong huh??" Harley's brows couldn't help but furrow, she has been dreaming of becoming the Queen but now she has to go back to the laundry department? She didn't want to!

For a while, the system was silent and then answered in its cold, metallic voice. " I don't know, this was not supposed to happen. The Dragon Queen should have drowned herself in alcohol till the end and should have died, this is the data that has been filled in my database, I don't understand how this new variable popped up all of a sudden, maybe she has been playing or maybe an unidentified change has taken place, one that I couldn't sense."

" If you can't even sense something like this, what use are you?" She knew her words were harsh but everything that she has worked hard for was slipping out of her hands and she could do nothing but watch it silently. " No, I have to do something—— Yakov, I don't think that Yakov would ignore me in this peril, he will surely help me!"

Then without thinking about anything, she rushed out of the room.

" My Lord, are you going to skip lunch as well? You haven't eaten anything since morning." Aileen, Yakov's aide questioned him as the latter continued to pace around the garden. " I don't think that pacing around like that is going to help you."

" I just don't understand, who —— who told her about the plan?" said Yakov as he gritted his teeth, he still remembered the indifferent gaze that Bree has shot him earlier like he was a stranger and nothing more to her. A few more days and he would have been her ' main husband' than main consort but some idiot made a joke out of his well-thought plan and now Bree was wary of him.

Aileen stood next to a pacing Yakov, he knew that his master was feeling trapped. He was a werewolf but according to the Queen's order, he was now to be surveillance really closely. If he wasn't wrong, it must be because the Queen knew that his master was the one who came up with the plan to 'assassinate' her.

" My lord, Miss Harley is here to see you." The guard who was stationed at the palace of Yakov's palace sent the word through the communication pixie who flew to the garden of Crystal roses and relayed the message to Yakov in a voice that was not at all suitable for her size and cuteness.

Yakov exchanged a look with Aileen who shrugged with an' it's your monkey, not mine, take care of it yourself,' expression.

And then Yakov sighed. That's right it was his monkey, a monkey that he brought into his palace. Though he didn't understand why she was here, he still have to deal with her.
