Just three weeks before she gets executed
Bree closed her eyes as she sat back on her bed—— as far as she knew the book she transmigrated in was called 'Maid's survival of the Fittest', the protagonist of the story was Harley Vincent, a young woman who transmigrated to this world from her original timeline. Her goal, in the beginning, was simple—— get enough love points from the love interests. And those love interests were none other than the mates of the Dragon Empress, the story plot was pretty generic and nothing too different from the other stories that had the system in them.
It started as tragic, Harley the female protagonist was from another world, she found out that was suffering from cancer and boom three months later she died. But then her soul was possessed by a system, that gave her an alternative, she could either team up with and get a chance to survive or walk through the gates of hell and die as she was destined to. Harley like any other protagonist wasn't stupid—— she choose the former option without any hesitation and then merged her soul with the system and arrived here in this world.
Harley worked hard to gain the love points from her love interest, hoping that once she had saved enough of those love points she would be able to go back to her timeline but then like all cliche novels—— the dear protagonist fell in love with the love interests who treated her like she meant the world to them. At the climax, these so-called mates murdered the Dragon Queen and then took over the throne. And if that wasn't all, they even crowned Harley as their Queen and the female they imprinted on.
Pinching the space between her eyebrows, for the first time —— Bree started to realise just how stupid the plot was, though the Dragon Queen was cruel, she wasn't an unjust ruler, if not for her the Dragniere Empire wouldn't have flourished so much. And even though she did not take other countries under her rule, it didn't mean that she wasn't a capable ruler. Maybe she just didn't want to spread her rule so much?
And throughout the book, the mates of the Dragon Queen kept going and on about how she betrayed them but the truth was that mating with someone was different from marrying that person. Once claimed, that person can never betray his or her mate, it was as simple as that—— and because the Queen was wearing the claims of her mates, Bree was certain that this betrayal was just limited to some few stolen kisses from other men and nothing more. Yet the mates and Harley exaggerated it as if the Dragon Queen gave birth to a bastard or something!
Most oddly, who was going to guarantee her that these mates who were chasing after Harley didn't do the same thing as the Dragon Queen? The more Bree thought about it the more furious she became, so, the one who was the bastard in the relationship was still the Dragon Queen? And the mates just because they were the love interests, were given a free chit because they were ' in love' with Harley?
" The heck is this?" snapped Bree as she clenched her teeth and caught the inside of her cheek in between. Just because she transmigrated over as a villainess character she was supposed to die? How was this justified and how was the Dragon Queen's death justified—— she might be an alcoholic, philanderer and someone who didn't know what was going on in her empire half of the time —— alright fine, she was just trying to justify the Dragon Queen's antics because now she was ——-the Dragon Queen. The one who was destined to die in the hands of her mates.
Bree started chewing on her nail when her gaze fell on the calendar that dated —— 29. 08. XXXX year.
Suddenly, Bree jumped to her feet as if she was electrocuted. This…this date was just three weeks away from the date when the Dragon Queen was murdered in the dead of the night!
" Someone come in and help me change!" She didn't care that she just sent the maids away, she didn't care how the people of her palace were going to view her after this, she just had one thing going on in her head and that's she has to do something that will stop these new mates of her from killing her!

' Oww this corset,' muttered Bree inwardly as she made way to the court with her ladies in waiting, what she was even surprised with was that Harley, the female protagonist was one of them! How did that happen? As far as she knew that though Harley was the female protagonist, she wasn't an aristocrat, with her qualifications, she shouldn't be working as her one of her ladies in waiting. Bree was frowning throughout the time as she walked past the long hallway that led to the court, though the entire hallway was lit up beautifully, and all sorts of magical equipment were placed as decoration, Bree couldn't pay attention to them. Not because she didn't want to but because the Ding Dong of Harley's system was doing behind her.

Just as the reverse count started, Harley who was obediently walking behind her broke the line and tried to get near her. Bree breathed a heavy sigh, seriously, wasn't this system and female protagonist taking her too lightly? She was the Dragon Queen, her senses were the best here, already aware of the fact that Harley was walking behind her and was just a few steps away from bumping her, Bree stopped and then turned to look at the female lead who looked startled like a little bunny. Though her expression was cute and made others feel sorry for her, Bree had no feelings toward this female lead.
She didn't care what her reasons were, why Harley she was doing this—— all she knew was that Harley was trying to break in between The Dragon Queen and her mates and that too by relying on a cheap system. If the Dragon Queen wasn't true to her mates who was going to say that Harley who was relying on her system was true to the love interests wasn't she too using them?
" Are you trying to impale yourself on me?" asked Bree in a voice that was too cold for her hot inferno like body, her dragon-like slitted eyes glaring at Harley. " If you don't know how to act like a lady in waiting then just quit, I don't have time for this!"
" I—- I was just trying to"
" Trying to do what? I didn't ask for your help, nor did I ask you to break the line. If everyone starts behaving like you who is going to take care of the balance?" Then without looking at the female protagonist's pale face, Bree walked out of the extravagant hallway.
