Elysia was returning to the writing room when she saw Dargan walking towards her, she initially thought of changing paths, but they were already too close and it would be obvious she was trying to avoid him.
"Ah, Elysia," Dargan's eyes scanned her from head to toe before locking onto her face. "You have cleaned up so well, you almost look like royalty," he said, his voice laced with mockery.
"It is good to see you too, Lord Dargan," Elysia replied, offering him a tight smile as she adjusted the side of her dress, trying to maintain her composure.
"The King is too nice to you. I would have had you naked in the dungeon if you humiliated me the way you did to him," Dargan remarked, his tone dripping with disdain.
"Then I am highly grateful that you are not the King," Elysia retorted sharply, her eyes narrowing. She would not let the Duke insult her any longer.
