His fingers, firm but teasing, gripped her waist, pulling her against his body. “Do you know what happens to those who defy me, little pet?” His voice was low, dripping with dark amusement. He leaned down, his lips hovering just above hers, close enough for her to feel his breath but not close enough to touch. “They beg.”Elysia’s pulse quickened, her breath catching as her body betrayed the fear melting into something far more dangerous. Her lips parted, but no words came out. "You're mine, Elysia, I will burn the world for you." She heard him say in a low growl, making her legs tremble more.

A Stranger In The Palace

Azreal had barely blinked over the last hours,  his eyes fixed on Elysia's unconscious body. She was still completely still, no moving or waking up, even though she was not shaking again or it appeared like she wasn't in pain, she didn't look any better. She was still pale and cold.

The King was itching to haul the whole palace out, forcing every single one of them to confess who poisoned Elysia, but thought against it. It would make he look like a fool.

Just then Sevastian placed a gentle knock on the door and pushed it open, allowing himself and the physician to walk in. "Your Majesty, the physician is going to check her again." Sevastian announced to the King, even though this was the third time the physician had checked on Elysia today.
