Teleport!

"Luca said I should shop for necessities. Come with me," Maximillian ordered.

Edna nodded and made way for her master to walk first. She walked behind Maximillian, wondering what was going on.

Her gaze swept around to find Luca's whereabouts. Because if it was just the two of them, it would be very awkward. Actually, it wasn't that awkward, but Edna was scared of her master. She still couldn't understand her master's personality. The man was too temperamental, and Edna was afraid of making another mistake.

They both stopped at a fruit stall. Maximillian selected several types of fruit he wanted to buy. The seller who saw the red-haired man was flabbergasted. He had never seen a creature as beautiful as his new customer.

After Maximillian selected all the fruits he wanted, he gave all the groceries bags to Edna. Edna held the fruit bags like she was holding the last line of her life. She knew if she dropped the fruits, she would be killed.

Maximillian also chose vegetables and several types of meat. Edna started sweating from all the grocery bags she was carrying. Maximilian just walked around selecting items and then handed them to Edna without knowing that her hands were starting to feel numb.

"That kid, Sir! I saw that kid tear up the poster!"

Edna looked back when a woman shouted in a thunderous voice. Two guards on patrol walked quickly toward her. Edna immediately looked down. She wanted to ask Maximillian to immediately choose the cup he wanted to buy.

"Sir," called Edna, bracing herself to speak.

Edna glanced back nervously, the two soldiers walking faster at her.

"Sir! Let's get out of here quickly!" asked Edna frantically, forgetting that Maximillian didn't like talking to her.

The sky was getting darker and drizzle began to drop little by little. Edna, who was panicking, touched Maximillian's hand, which was lifting a white ceramic cup, and hurriedly dragged her master without a second thought, making the cup in the man's hand fall and shatter.

"You? What are you doing?"

"I'll explain everything later, but we need to get out of here soon!"

Maximillian held Edna's hand to stop her from walking. The boy was not looking at him. He turned back, followed Edna's gaze, and saw two uniformed men walking quickly toward them.

"I beg you, My Lord!"

Maximillian then relaxed his body, allowing Edna to drag him along. The two guards behind called out to them to stop. Their footsteps were getting faster and faster. Everyone stepped aside, and the guards drew closer.

With a flat face, Maximilian strongly grabbed the hand of Edna who was running in front of him until her small body bumped into his body. The shopping bags filled with fruit were also damaged. Edna had not had time to process all that when a pair of large hands covered in a black robe embraced her body.

For a moment, Edna felt herself floating, but two strong arms held her down. Only two seconds and now her feet had already touched the ground again.

It was raining heavily. Edna's guess was right that it was going to rain today. She looked up and accidentally met her master's gaze. Those golden eyes looked so gentle. The man's black pupils returned to normal, while his red hair hung down over the three hanging earrings in one of his ears.

"Come to my room tonight," said Maximillian who then let go of Edna's body.

The man turned back to get into the mansion. Edna still didn't realize that they had arrived at the mansion. She tightly hugged the shopping bags which had begun to be damaged by the heavy rain. The girl hung her head low to hide the blush on her cheeks.

After calming herself down, Edna looked up and was surprised to find herself already in the front yard of the mansion. Her gaze swept around the yard, but there was no one. Neither Luca nor her master was seen. Edna clearly remembered that they had been running from the guards on patrol. How could she move from the middle of the city in just a few seconds to this place?

Filled with both curiosity and fear, Edna forgot about the pounding heart she felt just now.

Edna put all the groceries she and her master had bought in the kitchen. Her body was still wet from the rain. Yet, even after experiencing such a thrilling experience, she didn't forget the woman she found this morning in one of the rooms in the mansion.

Before Edna returned to her room, she wanted to check on the woman's condition. However, when she got there, she only found an empty, messy room. Some of the silver and gold furniture was missing, such as candlesticks, mirrors, and gold ornaments on the walls.

She didn't feel worried. Her blood could heal all wounds. It was possible that the woman woke up in a good state, then left the mansion when no one was there.

Edna went to her room and soaked her body in the wooden tub to warm herself up for a bit. She tried to remember what had happened earlier. How could they move places so quickly?

Dragon … What supernatural powers did they have?

Edna tried to recall how she teleported, but then she only remembered how her master's arms held her tightly.

Edna had never felt the affections of a man. She had been hugged by her father, and Uncle Jo almost hugged her too, but what she felt earlier was different.

Thinking back on it made her heart pound hard. She did not know what she feel right now.

Edna was not naive nor foolish about human feelings. She knew what was called hate, sadness, love, or anger. Moreover, both of her stepsisters were very expressive. They always spoke loudly, so she knew quite well how it felt to be hated, be annoyed, like, even love someone.

She learned everything from listening to Lucy's and Marionette's conversation.

However, what Edna felt when she was in the embrace of those sturdy hands was in stark contrast to all the explanations she had ever heard from her two stepsisters.

It was not fear, awkwardness, like, or love.

It was a comfortable and warm feeling, without being intimidated.

When Edna saw the man, she wanted to touch his fiery red hair. She wondered how it felt to run her fingers through the strand of his red hair. She was also curious about how the man looked when he was smiling because he always appeared mad.

His golden irises with its black pupils were always blazing like the tip of a flame that melted anything they saw.

Edna was bewitched several times, at their first meeting on the bridge and also when she was in Maximillian's arms.

"And what does that man want from me?" Edna muttered as she soaked her body in the tub. Her face suddenly felt hot.
