The carriage went quite far. Edna didn't expect that the city she lived in would be this large. She became curious about how enormous the kingdom was if the city was already this big.
They passed the same bridge where Edna first met Mr. Maximillian, also the same place where she cut her hair and threw away the scissors that became a silent witness when she killed Uncle Jo.
The carriage went towards a slightly familiar path. Edna frowned upon seeing several buildings that were almost the same scene as she saw when she ran away. It was nighttime, so Edna didn't pay much attention to her surroundings, but one or two of the shop boards let Edna know that they were headed for the Marquess Westfall's residence.
And just as Edna had expected, they arrived and stopped right in front of her family's gate. Edna rushed down to open the door of her master's carriage.
Maximilian went down first. He ignored Edna and looked at the building in front of him with disinterest.
"Are you sure this is the place?" asked Maximillian to Luca.
"Yes, My Lord. The priest said they got it from a doctor who works under Marquess Westfall."
Edna was scared to death. She wondered what business her master had until he looked for her father. Don't tell me they also want her blood?
Edna immediately held Luca's hand.
"Eden? Are you okay?"
"Sir, I have a little stomach ache. C-can I go find another place first? I-I'll wait here until your business is done."
Luca glanced at his master. Maximilian said nothing. He just stared at the building before him. Luca, who understood Edna's condition, nodded and let the boy look for the toilet.
As Maximilian and Luca were about to enter, two guards held them back with two long sticks.
"Marquess Westfall Family currently not receiving visitors."
Maximillian glanced at Luca in annoyance.
"There is something important we wish to discuss with Marquess Westfall."
"You can't. The Westfall family is currently mourning. This residence is also protected by the royal knights. If you forced yourself to enter the gate, it's the same as if you go against the king's orders."
"King's order? Wow, how special it is for an ordinary marquess to have direct supervision from the king. This is getting interesting," said Maximillian who then turned around to leave the guards. Luca rushed after his master.
"My Lord, but it seems the rumors are true. Everything is centered on Marquess Westfall."
"I knew. The smell of the residence is overpowering. I know they're hiding something in there. We'll come again tonight."
"Yes, My Lord."
"Now, where is that human?" asked Maximillian, making Luca remember Edna who had asked his permission to leave the carriage first.
"Luca, you know what you have to do if the kid is running away? I want his mouth shut properly."
"I believe in Eden, My Lord. He won't run away from us," Luca answered with a smile, making Maximillian click his tongue in annoyance.
Maximilian didn't want to bother looking for that human. He then got into the carriage to wait. His hands folded in front of his chest after opening the curtain of the window, then his eyes landed at the Westfall family residence.
He stared intently at the building in front of him. However, his mind went astray.
Yesterday was a crazy and ridiculous day. He almost lost his mind due to human blood. This morning, he also smelled the same scent, but it disappeared so quickly. He frowned, because ever since he had tasted a single drop of the servant's blood, the boy's face had not left his mind.
From their first meeting that evening, Maximilian knew something was wrong with his new servant. He had the power to read minds. Yet he, a leader of the great dragon tribe, couldn't even see what was inside his servant's head.
Hence, Maximillian was very surprised when the boy easily threw himself to help Luca. His hands blazed with flame, the hottest flame that could melt iron. And the flame was instantly extinguished the moment the boy's small, fragile hand embraced him.
"Fucking hell," Maximillian cursed in annoyance because he once again thought of humans who weren't worth thinking about.
He hated humans, especially a weak human like his servant. That boy was also uglier than most people. Why did he have to keep thinking about him like this?
Even though Maximilian tried to brush it away, he was subconsciously thinking about the possibilities behind the little servant's body.

Edna was walking around the market. She couldn't remember where she was. The city streets at night and during the day were totally different. The streets she passed through when she was running away were quiet. She didn't really think about her surroundings so she couldn't remember what was around her.
Edna hid too far, and now she was having trouble finding Lord Maximillian's carriage.
Edna suddenly stopped. She was stunned to see a poster ahead of her. A town bulletin board that had many wanted faces, including her own.
It was written that she was just a maid in the Westfall family who tried to kill the Marchioness' younger brother.
"Maid…" muttered Edna who still couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Edna pulled her hood to hide her face. On the hanging portrait, her hair was still long. They also didn't make any effort to make her face better. It even looked worse in the picture.
Not wanting to waste time, Edna went back to look for her master's carriage. However, when she turned around, she could see her master walking in the crowd towards her. Nervously, Edna immediately tore off a poster of her face and hid it under her robe. That way her master wouldn't see her face on the poster.
"Luca said I should shop for necessities. Come with me," Maximillian ordered.
Edna nodded and made way for her master to walk first. She walked behind Maximillian, wondering what was going on.
