The werewolves released their spiritual energies that were shockingly somehow matching each other.
"What the hell…!"
"How can they perform a three-person spirit fusion and not just them… them too!" Houryu was shocked to notice the three-in-one spirit fusion and was even more shocked to see it happening with the werewolves surrounding Yuhao as well.
Houryu quickly brought out his sword from his earring to try and take them out before they could do anything crazy, as even though he had not experienced it before, he was pretty sure whatever ability stemmed from this three-person fusion would be extremely troublesome to deal with.
Houryu was about to start sending his spiritual energy into his sword when an enormous pressure bore down on him suddenly, a pressure so great that he was forced to use his sword to hold himself up, '…What is this pressure…' he thought, then it hit him that the werewolves must have activated whatever spiritual fusion skill their three-man spirit fusion held.
'If it's just pressure, then it's no big deal,' Houryu thought and then tried to send his spiritual energy through his body to resist the pressure, but shockingly his spiritual energy refused to activate, "…!"
"What the… GAH!" Houryu exclaimed in shock when the pressure bearing down on him doubled, pushing down harder on him and making it hard for him to even breathe.
Houryu quickly tried to use his mangekyou Sharingan to activate his Susanoo, but shockingly his Sharingan refused to activate. Itt was getting really troublesome for Houryu as he noticed that as well. He couldn't use his spiritual energy to protect himself from the pressure, his Sharingan refused to activate and since he couldn't activate his spiritual energy, he couldn't gather enough chaotic spiritual energy into his hand to form the hollow mask and transform into a hollow.
'... What the hell is this ability… How can it stop my sharingan from activating?!' Houryu thought as he fought against the pressure, barely staying on his feet with the help of his sword that he was using to hold himself up.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Yuhao in the same situation as he was, the only difference in their situation was that Wang Qui'er was trying to help Yuhao, but even then, she wasn't able to break the werewolves' formation barrier and ended up flying, even with the help of her golden dragon spear. Yet she stood up again and unleashed her spirit rings, even though she was injured when she tried to break the barrier she wasn't giving up on Yuhao.
Wang Qui'er began to turn into golden spiritual energy that wormed its way into the werewolves' formation and joined up with Yuhao, unleashing another one of their spiritual fusion skills where Wang Qui'er transformed into armor that Yuhao wore on his body.
But it was too late, the werewolves had also completed their spirit fusion. The pressure that stopped Houryu and Yuhao from using all their powers was not even a skill, but just a side effect of being touched by the pressure of a three-man spirit fusion.
Black thunder rumbled and rained down from the skies onto the areas where Houryu and Yuhao were, causing destruction and kicking up a lot of dust and fog. When the fog on Yuhao's side cleared, Yuhao stepped out of the fog, a bit injured, but mostly unharmed due to his armor.
On Houryu's side, there was no reaction after the black thunder stopped rumbling and striking and the werewolves looked at each other, unsure of what to do in this situation.
"...I hate it…" Houryu's voice came out in pained whispers as blood ran down his heavily injured body.
"...this feeling, I hate it…"
"...Feeling powerless again…" Memories of his past ran through his head, annoying Houryu endlessly as he remembered, his eyes beginning to show a flaming glow as he tried to use his phoenix transformation, but it was being resisted heavily because of the pressure.
Houryu didn't think twice and began to burn his phoenix heart essence blood to aid him in his transformation, not caring if that would damage him greatly. His body caught flames and he started to transform, expanding and becoming a huge bird of flames.
"CAW!!!" Houryu shrieked as he completed his phoenix transformation, but instead of a cry that sounded like a song of nature, his cry was full of anger and promised destruction as he flapped his wings and began hovering a few meters above the ground, looking down at the werewolves that previously surrounded him.
Houryu looked over towards Yuhao and saw that Yuhao had defeated two of the werewolves that surrounded him but looked exhausted just standing up. Yuhao was also looking at Houryu with absolute shock written all over his face as he had seen him transform.
Houryu looked over at the four remaining werewolves with death filled eyes and he stretched out his wings, 'Phoenix Flare.'
[Die], a voice echoed in the werewolves' minds as they stood stupefied as pillars of flame began rising from below them and burnt them to a crisp.
'Tch… they died too quickly… I still want to punch something,' Houryu thought as he looked at the floor, not even able to see the ashes of the werewolves, but he saw some glowing bone shaped things, that didn't seem to be burnt by the flames.
'Are those spirit bones… they're really strong to not get turned to ashes by my flames, but then again, I was only able to call on weak flames this time.' He descended back toward the ground and transformed back to his human form. Yuhao who had just been barely standing began to stagger and just when he was about to fall, the armor on him began to turn back into golden spiritual energy, began flowing into the air, and then turned back to Wang Qui'er.
Wang Qui'er began to fall after turning back, Yuhao saw her and tried to run and catch her before she fell, but he stumbled and fell, too exhausted to even move as Wang Qui'er continued to fall, but just before hitting the ground, Houryu appeared and grabbed her in a princess carry.
He looked over at Yuhao who had fallen from exhaustion, "You really were going to just let her fall huh… Some MC you are."
"... Wha… are… you… even… talkin… abou…" Yuhao whispered just before fainting.
"Oi, are you really just gonna faint like that… who faints in a dangerous forest!?"
"Who wrote this? Is this even supposed to happen!?"Houryu said in an irritated tone to Yuhao, but received no response as Yuhao was no longer conscious, "God dammit! I hate this place."
Houryu turned back to Wang Qui'er who was heavily injured and also unconscious in his arms, "What am I supposed to do with you?"
