CHAPTER 87

'Am I going to die today?' She thinks as the attacks close in on her, but suddenly snowflakes appeared around her, indicating a presence she was vaguely familiar with.

'This snow… feels so familiar… Is it Yuhao?' she thought as the snowflakes increased in quantity very quickly and blocked the attacks from reaching her. Yuhao somehow found his way to the bear and jumped on it and then went on to help Wang Quier to get back on the bear's body from where she was hanging on.

"The ice domain won't last long. Hurry and come with me!" Yuhao told her as he pulled her up.

"No, wait!" She refused as she turned towards the bear's head on which Houryu sat, while still watching her through her predicament. She suddenly swung her spear towards the bear's head and sliced through with great force, decapitating it.

Houryu quickly jumped off the head of the bear that was now sliding off its body after being "detached."

"Hey! What the hell was that for?" Houryu questioned while still in midair.

"Why did you just kill her?" Yuhao asked as well.

"I would rather it die by my hands than allow it to be tortured by those bastards!" Quier replied to Yuhao as they began running off in another direction from the cave.

"That doesn't answer my question though?" Houryu said as he suddenly appeared running along beside Wang Quier.

Wang Quier just looked at him for a second before looking away and whispering, 'Some help you were.'

"I did mention that if you needed my help, you should "ask", and not that I'd help you out of the goodness of my heart," Houryu replied to her whisper.

"Why did I even expect you to actually help… I was going to be attacked and I was almost defenseless, what screams help me more than that." Wang Quier snapped.

"... I don't know, maybe you screaming like a damsel in distress could trigger something in me," Houryu answered back, cheekily, while Yuhao just looked confused at this whole conversation as he couldn't make a head or tail of what was going on.

While they were in their argument, the ice domain of Yuhao had already begun to crumble and the dark spirit masters already discovered that the mother dark golden dread claw bear was dead, killed by Wang Quier.

"Damn it, they've killed the dread claw bear, Old San, you chase down those three brats. Old Er, you go check if the spirit ring of the mother bear is complete. I'm going to lead the male beast soul." The dark spirit master in the lead gave orders to his companions.

Houryy, Yuhao, and Wang Quier noticed this, and Yuhao still holding on to Wang Quier's hand took off at a higher speed while saying, "Wang Quier, hold on tighter, I'm going to use a soul guidance weapon to increase our speed!"

Houryu was still following the two of them when he suddenly thought to himself, 'Why am I even running from these guys?'

"Little brats! Wait for me!" Old San called out.

"Little brat?" A tick mark appeared on Houryu's head as he heard that. He turned around with an annoyed look on his face, "Where the hell are the rest of those idiots, they can't even hold those three dark spirit masters away." He then cracked his knuckles, "Young ones these days really need a lesson on how to respect their eld… WHOA!!!" He was saying when Wang Quier's hand found her way to the back of his collar, and she jumped away at high speed.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!!" Houryu shouted at Wang Quier after snatching himself away from her grasp, while they were still flying towards God knows where.

"I DON'T KNOW!!!" She shouted back at him.

"What the hell do you mean you don't know? You grabbed me and pulled me along like you were trying some "Come fly with me" project and now you tell me you don't know. Like what the hell?" Houryu asked with a peeved look.

"I don't know, maybe it was instinct... to save you or something…" Wang Quier stressed.

Houryu pulled out his sword and flowed his spiritual energy through it and then swung it at the resentful spirits that the dark soul spirit master sent at them. His sword swung lightly, but still sharply enough to create an energy slash that wiped away the spirits before they could reach him,

"Let's make this clear… I don't need saving… not from you, not from anyone."

"... neither do I want help from humans… it's insulting." He declared in a cold tone as they free fell to the ground.

*CRASH* They fell and landed on the floor a little distance apart from each other. Houryu turned towards the direction that they were being chased from, with irritation written all over his face, but then noticed that the dark spirit master was already nearby where Yuhao and Wang Quier landed.

Houryu then started walking in that direction as he currently needed something to punch… really hard, and there was a perfect something a few meters away.

The dark spirit master didn't seem to notice anything wrong as he landed and turned towards Yuhao and Wang Quier, who stood hand in hand as they faced him, prepared to fight for their lives.

The dark spirit master looked around and only saw those two, but didn't see Houryu, nor could he sense him, because Houryu's spiritual energy was always covered up by himself, making him almost undetectable in this world.

"Where's the third one… aww… did he run away?"

"I will be kind and let you know that everything you have up your sleeve, is all useless before me." He taunted as he unleashed his spiritual energy in full force and transformed into a spirit form of himself.

"Wang Quier, Let's fight to the end!" Yuhao declared suddenly and in that moment both of them felt something that made them look at each other in surprise, shock and confusion.

Houryu was coming in their direction when he suddenly felt it as well, but it came along with a strong feeling of loss that he couldn't understand.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me…" Houryu exclaimed as he moved at a speed so high, he basically teleported in their direction to confirm what he just sensed.
