Training and a taste of revenge

Jin Zhi continued to cultivate until dawn broke to which he got up and got dressed preparing to head to the Jin family's training area and the class he had to attend today.

Upon arriving he saw around eighty children all rushing to the training center too as they began to group up and stand still to which Jin Zhi joined one of the 8 groups.

"Oh~ look who actually came here." The small boy with a large and round face called.

"Jin Cheng, you are merely a dog continue to keep barking and you will pay the price." Jin Zhi retaliated.

This boy was one of Jin Bao's lackeys and one of the main children who picked on the old Jin Zhi. Lucky Jin Cheng that Jin Zhi knew he was not his old self and killing indiscriminately could get him in trouble but teaching him a lesson was no problem at all.

"Why you-" Jin Cheng stopped as he saw an elder in the distance made his way towards the children.

The elder stared at Jin Zhi before he spoke, "Today is practical training and you will spar with one another. Jin Zhi since you have just joined you can just watch for now but I will hand you this manual, memorize 5 moves by the end of the class."

The elder then threw a manual to Jin Zhi who caught it and saw that it read 'Jin family martial arts' and Jin Zhi was quick to bow and respond with "Thank you, elder."

"Call me instructor Zhu." was the elder's response. The elder looked similar to Jin Zhi but much taller and with black hair that contained strands of white and a faded vertical scar over his deep abyss black eyes. The only difference was that Jin Zhi's hair was behind his back with some flowing to one side just above his left eye bu instructor Zhu had his hair resting over his shoulders down to his chest.

"Yes, instructor Zhu." Jin Zhi replied.

The elder then continued with "Now we will do light spars and the rules are simple no heavy attack or killing which I doubt any of you are capable of anyway."

The lesson then continued with many going to spar but Jin Zhi simply ignored it and read through the 'Jin family martial arts' which showed many sword movements and basic martial arts such as palm strikes and kicks.

"This is such a basic martial art. I can finish this within 30 minutes." Jin Zhi thought as he then began to practice the movements.

An hour passes and instructor Zhu decided to check on Jin Zhi but as he looked upon Jin Zhi he was amazed to see that Jin Zhi had already mastered the family martial arts and could be seen in his movements.

"Haha~ our family has a genius but why was he revered as trash then?" Instructor Zhu thought as his eyebrows furrowed.

"Ha!" Jin Zhi shouted before stopping with a single drop of sweating falling off of his forehead.

"That was great Jin Zhi how about testing your abilities?" Instructor Zhu asked with a wide grin on his face.

"How?" Jin Zhi asked.

"With a spar of course." instructor Zhu replied.

It just so happened that Jin Bao overheard this and had gone over to Jin Cheng and whispered something in his ear causing them both to have a shit-eating grind plastered over their faces.

As Jin Zhi and instructor Zhu made their way back to the group of students who had finished sparring; Instructor Zhu then spoke up and asked "Would anyone like to spar Jin Zhi?"

"Teacher can I?" Asked Jin Cheng.

"Hmmm...." Instructor Zhu said as he turned to Jin Zhi to see him nod in which Instructor Zhu then continued with "Ok then."

Jin Zhi and Jin Cheng both made their way to the arena that was in the dead center of the training grounds. They both were on opposite ends and as the student became riled up seeing this they all began to comment on the fight with words such as "The trash is gonna die today."

"I want a clean fight, there will be no serious injuries. Do you understand?!" Instructor Zhu asked them both in a loud booming voice.

"Yes." Jin Zhi and Jin Cheng both replied in unison.

"Then get in your stances." Instructor Zhu said as Jin Zhi and Jin Cheng both got in a fighting stance. Jin Zhi's had his hands firmly planted into the ground and one arm above the other looking like a majestic dragon. While Jin Cheng was in a spriting position and his hands like claws like a ferocious wild beast. To which Instructor Zhu continued with "3, 2, 1, fight!"

Then Jin Cheng rushed towards Jin Zhi shouting "Jin family martial arts 1st form, rushing panther!" Then upon nearing Jin Zhi he extended one of his hands and opened it to a palm.

Seeing this Jin Zhi said "Too slow, 4th form flying graceful crane." To which Jin Zhi simply dodged the palm and continued to do so as Jin Cheng rapidly turned around and attempted to hit Jin Zhi with a reverse kick before switching to a flurry of rapid palm strikes,

Jin Zhi continues to easily dodge them one after another before flipping back to the end of the arena and said "3rd form, Lion's fang." When saying this he leaped to Jin Cheng and changed his palm to a claw-like shape with one knuckle overextended before hitting Jin Cheng in the chest sending him flying with the sheer impact.

Jin Cheng was now barely balancing on the edge of the arena before rebalancing at staring intensely at Jin Zhi. Behind Jin Cheng was Jin Bao who whispered something to him which suddenly made Jin Cheng's face turn from distorted to a slight smile. He then said, "Jin Zhi today we will see if you walk again."

Jin Cheng then began to gather Qi into his palm and legs before shouting "8th form, killing mantis!" To which he rushed towards Jin Zhi was murderous intent leaking from him.

"If you show such hostility I guess I can only teach you a lesson." Jin Zhi thought to himself before changing stances.

"Teach that trash who's boss!" Shouted many in the crowd seeing this but Instructor Zhu realized that Jun Cheng really was trying to kill Jin Zhi with this blow but once Instructor Zhu saw Jin Zhi's expression he did not move. It went from a calm and collected face to a cold and emotionless sending chills down Instructor Zhu's spine.

Then Jin Zhi too gathered Qi into his legs and palm which seemed to be a level higher than Jin Cheng's Qi which was in the first layer but Jin Zhi's was at the second level.

This caused many to open their eyes in shock especially Jin Bao who was at the second level of Qi layer and was considered a genius but to see Jin Zhi, someone who he treated like trash on the same level as he was unacceptable. The only one smiling at this was Instructor Zhu.

Jin Cheng tried to dodge but it was too late he had already jumped towards Jin Zhi and it was impossible for him to avoid Jin Zhi's strike.

"Bang!"

A sound noise then erupted as smoke gathered across the arena blocking everyone's eyesight but as it cleared you could see Jin Zhi was being blocked by another figure much larger than him and Jin Cheng.

"Patriarch!" Was Instructor Zhu's response as he fell to the ground kneeling.

Many looked at him curiously until it hit them what he said causing them all to fall to the ground too and call "Patriarch!"

The figure now much more recognizable showing a 7-foot man who was long white hair halfway down his back and bright ocean-like eyes with a rough face to match his oppressive aura. He then released his martial spirit which was a large bright green sword that caused everyone there to fall to the ground.

"He's in the 8th soul layer!" Jin Zhi thought as a shocked expression covered his face but quickly died back down to his calm demeanor.

"Patriarch you must seek justice for Jin Cheng! Jin Zhi was about to commit murder in a light spar." Jin Bao said as his grin grew wider although he tried to hide it.

"Now tell me why were you going to kill him!" The patriarch roared at Jin Zhi with a distorted expression over his face.

"Patriarch, he was the one who attempted to kill first, if not for that why would I dare." Jin Zhi responded.

"I can confirm this patriarch!" Instructor Zhu added.

This made instructor Zhu receive a sharp glance from Jin Bao. Then the patriarch looked at instructor Zhu and asked "Why did you not stop the fight?"

"I-I was about to but it was too late until you came." Instructor Zhu replied with a nervous tone.

"In that case, you will be subject to being whipped 50 times. Jin Cheng will head to the punishment hall where he will be confined for a week. Jin Zhi will go without food for two nights." The patriarch announced as he removed his Qi and martial spirit allowing us to move freely.

"Yes, patriarch!" Jin Zhi, Jin Cheng, and instructor Zhu said in unison.

"In a year, the sect admission test will start so make sure to train them well." The patriarch said as he began to leave.

"Understood." Instructor Zhu replied as he bowed until the patriarch was out of sight. He then continued to say "Class is over, leave apart from you Jin Cheng you follow me to the punishment hall."

This line got Jin Cheng's face to look like a ghost as his body slumped to the floor. Everyone else then began to leave....

A/N: Hope you enjoyed it, also just want to say the mc Jin Zhi has no clue about the main canon but he will soon be in the main canon. The next chapter will be a one-year time skip and will be the day before the sect admission test.
