14-'our last ten days'

Rosella went out to breakfast, and there around the table were the angels waiting for her...accompanied by Alexander.

Rosella felt strange about Alexander's presence after he left yesterday, but he seemed as normal and calm as ever.

Rosella took her seat and exchanged glances with the others. Heracles said:

"It's Alexander"

Alexander smiled at her and said:

“I heard about what happened yesterday. There are only a few days left until the hundredth day, so I decided in agreement with the angels that if we do not find a solution before the hundredth day...I will be killed.”

Rosella's body shivered and her fork fell, causing an echo in this overwhelming silence. Then she turned her face towards Hector and said:

"You had that idea?"

Hector did not answer, but Alexander did:

"No, I am the one who had that idea. I told you before, and you promised to kill me."

Rosella looked at Heracles and said:

"So what? This won't put all the demons back inside the box. Rather, it means that Alexander will not take over and therefore Zeus himself will. I don't know this man but he is not as good as he seems."

Castor spoke:

"After Alexander's death, we will demand the dissolution of the kingdoms again."

Rosella looked at Heracles in shock. The reason for uniting the kingdoms was to hide the matter of Pandora's Box. Re-dismantling it would mean that something would be exposed.

Heracles also looked quite dissatisfied but said:

“We have no choice, for a demon to rule or for a demon with that power to remain is much worse.”

Rosella nodded, but she had lost her appetite and left the dining table and returned to her room, followed by Alexander.

Alexander stood at the door, leaned against it, and said:

“What’s wrong? You gave me poison before and asked me to drink it, what’s bothering you now?”

Rosella sat by the window and answered quietly:

“You're doing this to pay for what Zeus did to my grandmother, but my grandmother...maybe she deserved what he did after all.”

"Because of the box? You know? Zeus killing her means there's a demon inside him too. No hero would kill someone just because they're ignorant of a golden box."

Yes, Rosella knows this, but her grandmother hid a lot in her memories, so maybe, just maybe, there's more.

Alexander is the only one who bears the consequences of the actions of others. He did not enjoy life before, and he will not enjoy it this time. Will they kill him because they are too weak to save him?? And because they are weaker than killing Zeus?? This is unfair.

Rosella smiled lightly and looked at the surprised Alexander, then said:

"Alexander, there are only ten days left."

"Yes"

“Okay then, stay with me, and I will make it the best ten days for you, so that you can rest in peace, so that you can be reborn with pure blood.”

Cold air rushed in from the window, clouds covered the dim sunlight, and Alexander's blue eyes sparkled as did Rosella's green ones.

Alexander smiled faintly:

“Ten days, that's more than enough.”

Rosella straightened up and headed towards him excitedly, holding his hand:

"Let's start now? Shall we go to the sea? Or to the village? What should we do? You choose!"

Alexander laughed and patted her wavy black hair:

“Let me take you on a tour of the village!”

Rosella nodded:

"Okay, let's go!"

Alexander pushed her into his arms and said:

"Hang on!"

Rosella hugged him so tightly that he flew out the window with her in his arms, and then Rosella said:

“Should we attract attention? Why not walk? Like humans.”

Alexander said:

"Okay, once we're out of the kingdom's borders."

Indeed, as soon as they left, Alexander put her down and began walking close to her until they reached the village.

It was a simple village with wooden houses, simple designs, small houses, cozy shops, bakeries, and children playing around with little white wings.

Night had fallen and the village was covered in soft, warm orange lights. The smell of food wafted from every direction.

Rosella feels safe, as if she has returned to her world, her world before the war, when she was a child.

Her eyes fell on a bakery, so she grabbed Alexander's wrist and said:

"You should try something!"

She took him into the bakery and started looking for that cake that she loved so much in her world, but she couldn't find it so she messed around:

"Not here"

Alexander understood that she was looking for something specific to say:

"I'll call the cook, wait."

Rosella waited for him and stared at the details of the place and looked at the faces of the people, all of them so handsome, looking so pure and innocent, just like angels do.

A girl approached the cake rack near Rosella and started looking for a cake so that Rosella moved away for her, but as she was moving away, she collided with the body of the person and the cake of the person Rosella collided with fell.

Rosella looked at the person who was hiding his face and hair and only his blue eyes were visible and said:

“Excuse me, I really didn't see you!”

She went down to clean the cake and saw that honey-filled cake she was looking for.

Rosella stopped what she was doing and looked at the unknown person who had dropped his cake and said:

"Where did you get it?"

The unknown stared directly into her eyes in silence for a full minute, as if examining her features, her hair, and finally...her necklace.

Rosella felt tense at his glance before she heard:

“Is it that one?”

She turned to Alexander, holding two sweets filled with honey in his hand. She answered him:

"Yes"

She looked towards the unknown again but he had left and left his cake on the ground.

Rosella straightened up and took the candy from Alexander to tell her:

“These sweets are made upon request only, because they are not loved by the majority. The honey here is very sweet, and not everyone can tolerate its sweetness.”

And yet this unknown person had one of those candies.

Rosella took a bite and felt the pie melting inside her mouth, covered in honey.

Those are even better than the ones she have ever tasted in her world.

She looked at Alexander to see his reaction, but he had already finished eating it and said in astonishment:

“That's the best candy I've ever had in my entire life!!”

Rosella laughed at his great surprise:

"And this is only the first day, prince, Alexander."

Rosella walked out and Alexander followed her excitedly:

"That idea is so good! I love hanging out with you!"

Rosella giggled, he's acting like Achilles now, so cute.

They both left the bakery and walked away while the unknown person with blue eyes stood in the dark, watching them.

To be continued...
