A place where the sun shines

"Kael, to be honest with you, I don't feel safe around here, especially when you are not around me" said Kathleen to Kael when they stand together at the balcony, enjoying the gloomy scenery outside. The Dark Forest was always in it's loom and dark state, but as it was day time now, it was a little brighter than during the night time.

"As long as you stay inside our chamber, you will be safe" said Kael who stand behind her, hugged her from her back. His hands circle around her waist, making her lean her back against his broad chest.

"But I want to see beyond this room" she said with eyes full of hope. She couldn't stay indoor for the whole time, she'll gone mad.

"What do you wish to see?" he asked her. Kael expression was calm which makes Kathleen brave enough to say what she wants.

"I want to go somewhere where I can enjoy the sunshine. I know that I can't go as far as Hemsford, but anywhere nearby with sun light will be fine. You have no problem under the sun right?" Kathleen knew that it was stated in the contract that a bride cannot touch her feet on the Hemsford ground until she fulfill her duty, so she didn't asked for Kael to bring her back.

To have Kael as her husband and being provided with full protection from Sinners and the night creatures, Kathleen was grateful enough that she wouldn't dare to burden Kael by asking him to take her home and going against the rules.

But being cope up inside for a very long time was not something that she can stand it. 'A short outing will do' said Kathleen inside.

"As long as it's bright and sunny, is it?" he asked her to confirm her request.

"Yes, just for a short visit, I promise I won't ask for more" she confirmed, nodding her head eagerly.

"Promise me that you will stay close to me alright?" said Kael a little worried.

Thinking that he was worried about if she would try to run away from him, Kathleen smile convincingly to her husband, "I promise I'll stick around you that it will makes you suffocating" she giggled.

Smiled to his wife's convincing promise, Kael made her turn around to face him, making her hands hold on to his nape and he lifted her in bridal style with his hands. 'He really do like holding me like this', she thought.

"It's not what you think"

"I didn't think about anything"

"Don't lie, I know exactly what's inside of your mind Kathleen" he smile knowingly. She stop arguing knowing that there's no way she can win over him.

"Fine. Then why are we in this position?"

"Because the place where we will be going is somewhere where you can't go by foot"

"If I can't go by foot, then can you?"

"Yes, but not by foot" he smiled.

"...??"

A sudden gust of wind brushed her rosy cheek when suddenly a pair of magnificent wings appeared on Kael's back. The blackest black wings was huge that it could covered both of their bodies. Kathleen was awestruck that her mouth wide opened in an 'O' shape.

"I didn't know that your mouth can open this wide darling, it can totally accommodate my hard rod in this size, we shall try it tonight. Now close your mouth" he smirked.

Kathleen hurriedly closed her mouth before he speak out another nonsense words.

"Hold on tight, Love". Kael's wings flapped as they started to hovered up in the air.

"Can I touch it?" she asked curiously as they started ascended to the sky.

"Yes but later"

The wings move gracefully that Kathleen couldn't make herself from taking her eyes from it. She wanted to touch it so badly, wanted to feel the fluffy feathers on her skin, 'it must be very soft'.

Kael took her higher, soaring above the clouds, wind against her cheek. His strong arms hold her tight in his embrace, making her feel safe.

"Brace yourself for the coming air current, we need to pass this thick clouds that surrounded the Dark Forest area to reach our destination" warned Kael. They were flying fast against the thick air with his strong wings.

Thingking where he was taking her, suddenly Kathleen had a difficulty in breathing and her ears was in deep humming sound. 'This must be what he means when he warn me about bracing myself for the air current' Kathleen thought.

She shut her eyes, calm herself and focus on controlling her breathing, in the same time trying to ignore the buzzing sound in her ears.

"Calm down Kathleen, we are almost there" said Kael trying to comfort his uncomfortable wife.

A few seconds later, Kael stopped and hovered in the air.

"Open your eyes, darling" said Kael.

Kathleen opened her eyes to be greeted by his mesmerizing eyes, but what shocked her the most was their surrounding, it was bright and warm.

"Kael! We are up in the air! Up above the clouds! I can finally see the sun!" she exclaimed excitedly that she almost jump in her excitement. If it's not because of Kael's tight embraced, she would have fall. Though she was confident that he can catch her easily from falling too far, but it will ruin their current romantic moment.

"I'm glad you're happy. I'm sorry I couldn't take you back home".

"I'm really happy with this Kael and I never ask you to take me back to Hemsford. You are my husband, you are my home now".

"Aren't you feeling homesick?"

"Frankly, I do, but it is just because I have never went out too far from the Hemsford castle before. I'm fine, don't worry".

"Alright if you say so". They took their time enjoying the morning sun while holding on to each other. Kathleen feel so safe and peaceful with just the two of them in the sky, without having any worry being attack or kill by Sinners or the night creatures.

"When I asked for an outing to a place where I can see the sun, I could have never guess that you will take me up above the sky, flying" she giggled.

"I can fly, and I've told you before when we met at Hemsford, but you don't believe me", he said. He looked at his beautiful wife, who was now looking at his wings.

Kathleen remembered the time when he told her that he flew up to her chamber, but she laughed at his words.

"Who would have guess that a man can fly and even have a pair of magnificent wings".

"I do, so does Sinners"

"Both of you are different", she laughed.

"By the way, since when did you owned your wings and where did you keep it?" she asked.

He let out a chuckled when he heard her curious questions. "I had it since forever, I was born with it. I don't have to keep it, my wings always with me, it's just that it only appears when I want it to".

"Must be nice to have it" she said. He smile to her words and leaned closer to kiss her rosy full lips. They shared a long and romantic kisses above the clouds, holding on close to each other.

They enjoyed the beautiful scenery until it's getting warmer before returning to the Black Palace.
