CHAPTER 99: on sea

I soon noticed her fears and apologised. But this did not help really much and neither did my temper calm.

Not only had Gert helped in killing me, but he also betrayed some of my followers.

I knew that he did not like me as much as Allenya or Alex , but this went too far.

I killed people, I ate people, I had even set an entire village on fire. But these people, they did nothing wrong. They just had the bad luck to be broken and then be helped by me.

I wanted to know if someone else did also betray me. there was no guarantee that it was only Gert that wanted me gone.

But for now, I decided to try and distract myself so that I could calm down for a bit.

("Ask him if he knows how to get to Atlantis.")

She quietly nodded. She still felt uneasy since she had faced the wrath of a demon yet again.

"He asks if you know how to get to Atlantis."

Noah's face lit up now that he had something that he could help us with.

"Yes, I know. Once every month these ships sail out to bring people there. They want as mush forces there as they can get after what happened to Agartha. You can just ask them, and they will probably bring you there."

He stopped and let out a sigh. "The only problem is that they have means to detect demons and their followers. We would be fine on the ship, but we probably can't enter Atlantis."

("Don't worry. That won't be too much of a problem. Just prepare everything you two need and figure out when the next ship leaves.")

I indeed had something that I could try to pass such means. At least if they worked the same as those in Agartha. If that did not work, then I had to forcefully make my way in.

"He says that it will not be a problem, and he asks when the next ship leaves."

Noah looked relieved. "I believe that there will be one in about two weeks. But depending on the amount of people that wants to leave, we might have to wait for the next one."

("That is fine. I have waited three years. I can wait a few weeks extra.")

This might not have been my best choice of words, since it made Beatrice feel extremely guilty.

"He said that he can wait a little longer." She spoke with a soft voice.

The two weeks passed rather quickly. I mostly spent my time close to the town, hunting some animals that roamed around.

However, I had no intention of eating their material bodies and only took their souls. This was because Beatrice often brought me offerings.

She still felt guilty that it took her so long to bring me back, so she bought delicious food from the town. Something that I was really thankful for, since the other demons did not taste as good and the few humans that were dragged down were mostly bone.

She had already realised that the only thing that I would like from that town was the food.

The weapons were of no use to me because my claws and magic were much better. I also did not care for the jewellery.

The only thing that I would care about that was not food, were clothes that would fit me.

Since my size had doubled over the last three years the clothes obviously did not fit anymore. I had cut them up and covered my lower half and my mark with them.

However, I doubted that Beatrice would be able to find clothes for someone who was twice the size of a normal person.

When the two weeks passed, Noah and Beatrice got on bord of one of the ships. This month was rather quiet, so they did not have to wait for the next one.

I mostly followed a few hundred meters behind the ship wile using illusion magic to blend in with the environment as much as possible. During this time, I would still keep contact with Noah and Beatrice. Just to make sure that no one found out.

I would only come close when my magic ran out. Then I would hang on the back of the sip for a short period of time.

When I had built up enough energy to continue, I would get more distance between me and the ship like before. I was scared that if I came to close to the ship for a longer period of time, someone would notice me. thankfully, I only needed to rest three times, so it was not much of a problem.

After one week and three days, we reached a small island. The ship stopped and I was unsure of what to do. Since I was not sure if we really had arrived.

("Can you tell if this is the destination?") I asked both at them at the same time.

( I am not sure my lord. But it seems like we will indeed stop here.) Beatrice answered.

( Master I think that this is indeed the destination. The captain just left. I don't think that he would do that unless if we reached an important point.)

("Thank you, Noah. Both of you keep your eyes open for the way to Atlantis and anything that could possibly detect me.")

They both agreed without hesitation. And so, I prepared myself to enter Atlantis.
