The tension in the room was palpable, thick and suffocating, as Riley's words echoed in my mind. "I want you to please me," she repeated, her voice dripping with a sultry command that sent shivers down my spine. This wasn't my Riley. I had to believe that the real her was still in there, trapped beneath whatever dark influence had taken hold of her.
"Riley, please," I whispered, trying to steady my racing heart. "This isn't you. We need to figure out what's happening."
She laughed softly, a sound that was both alluring and menacing. "What if this is who I really am, Seraphine? What if I've just been hiding it all this time?"
Her words cut through me like a knife. This couldn't be true. The Riley I knew was kind, brave, and fiercely loyal. This version of her felt like a stranger wearing her skin. "I don't believe that," I said firmly, taking a step back to create some distance between us. "I know you, Riley. This isn't you."
