As the dance ended, Seraphine twirled me one last time before pulling me close again. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, and I couldn't help but laugh. The music faded, replaced by the hum of the crowd and the clinking of glasses as everyone moved toward the banquet hall.
"Come on," Seraphine whispered into my ear, her breath sending shivers down my spine. "It's feast time. Let's see how long we can last before one of the nobles makes some ridiculous comment."
I raised an eyebrow, smirking as I leaned closer. "Oh, I bet you they won't last five minutes."
Seraphine grinned, her eyes gleaming. "Care to make it interesting? Loser has to do whatever the winner asks."
I pretended to think about it, tapping my chin dramatically. "Alright, deal. But I'll have you know, I'm not losing this one."
With a soft laugh, Seraphine looped her arm through mine and led me toward the grand banquet hall.
