Chapter 63

"Where's Blake?"Evie asks looking around. Since the time they got to the hospital, Blake has not been seen around.

He leaves the hospital right after Richard has been called to come there.

Rest assured Irye will be safe, he returns to his place. It wasn't in his place to meddle in the family's affairs already. He should return what he borrowed.

"Who? He's long gone."Claude replies.

"What? Why? I thought he would stay, thinking of how he feels about her."Evie says with a sad look.

"I guess he's learning to know his place."Claude stares and looks elsewhere, noticing the look on his sister's face.

"Well I think the one who should be learning is you. Learn how to appreciate people."Evie retorts. "Look at what Blake has done for us. You, rather than applauding him, are here showing your level of idiocracy."

"Hey!"He yells at his sister, making Rachel's get her attention to them.

"What are you two doing?"She asks. "I don't have to tell two grown-ups that this is a hospital and that we need absolute silence."She says the last few words with gritted teeth.

Claude shrugs and Evie eyes him before looking away.

Mae tells her mother most of the things that happened except for the fact that Irye has a spirit in her and the turbulence Abigail brought upon them.

Although there are riding question about how they escaped the place, they just keep at it being a miracle.

Evie searches herself and realises her phone is not on her.

"Where's my phone? Did I...."She exhales slowly, remembering they had no time for phones there so she must have left it.

"Did you bring yours along?"She turns to Gerrard who's sitting in the chair behind her.

"Nope." Gerrard shrugs. "I don't think anyone of us bothered to bring it either. We were in a hurry to think about mere things like that."

"Ohh..."Evie lets out frustrated sigh.

"I think what you should be asking..."Rachel stands up and walks to her daughter. She puts her hand on Evie's shoulders. "Is...Where is your shower gel because you reek. Seriously, I mean you reek...a lot that."

They all laugh and Evie elbows Claude for making fun of what their mother said.

After some time, the doctor comes out to tell them that, Irye is responding to treatment but she must be watched for some time.

Finally the family relief themselves of another problem.

They plan to go home and come back after they change clothes. Now that things are alright, they care about the odour they are sending out to folks at the hospital.

"How about we go bath and change while they rest. Losing blood is a big deal. They must be hungry. Let's go cook something for them." Grams suggests.

"Yeah I don't think I can live with this kind of smell for a second more."Gerrard agrees.

"If you say this, then what should I say. Am half dead, smelling the scent coming out from me" Evie says and they laugh.

"I agree with you, which I never thought I would."Mae states with a surprised look on her face.

They get up and begin walking, laughing all the way.

"And am starving."Claude cries out.

Grams tells the doctor that they will go and come back so he should take care of her family for her before they leave the hospital.

After days of going back and forth at the hospital, Irye finally comes home.

"How are you?"Mirabel asks without concern as soon as Irye settles down.

"Am fine. Thanks for asking"Irye politely says.

Things go on well at the house. Richard learns to get closer to his daughter. In the process, he tells Irye about her mom's story and how he thought she might be cursed.

He tells Irye all about what happened between her mom and Mrs Brown.

Richard spents a lot of time with his daughter and Irye gets to know her father better.

Richard is spending time to repent and make up for his mistakes.

Everything goes on well for Irye but misses one thing.

Blake never appears infront of her anymore. Not when she woke up at the hospital nor at school nor anywhere near her house.

She tries asking Amber and Derrick but they've not also heard from him. Maybe the are just hiding things from her, she's not sure.

Her picture I still not complete and it drives her crazy whenever she goes to Blake's house and meets no one.

She goes crazy the more when she feels as if Blake might be around and she waits for him for hours but gets disappointed in the end.

Months pass by and Irye graduates high school. She goes to stay at the summer house with Evie, Claude and Gerrard.

Mae marries Joe and decide to live outside town.

Irye's life becomes full of happiness but even though she doesn't say it, she misses Blake and she is more sure of her feelings for him.

Irye's dark side still appears. Her family have learnt to stay with it and she has learnt how to control so she doesn't go bizarre in public.

She sees things that aren't supposed to be seen. Her strength is much more than previous. Even with a this, she doesn't know where Blake would be.

Deciding she will move on and keep Blake in her heart, she plans to get some part time job to help her hat herself busy.

On the day she goes to her workplace, she seals anything about Blake inside and starts a new day.

"Hey bro."Amber manly hugs Derrick.

"Hey."They shake hands. "What you doing around here."Derrick asks, looking around.

"What a douchebag you are. Am I lot allowed to come to your neighborhood?"Amber insults Derrick and they both laugh.

"There's nothing here really. How about we go to the snack shop around the corner."Derrick suggests.

"Well yeah..What are you waiting for.?"Amber leads the way and Derrick follows, smiling to himself.

"You are welc...."Irye pauses. Her eyes on someone. Her mind blank, with her lips shivering.

She wants to say something but the words don't come out. She freezes in time while her thoughts run wild.

"Hey.." Amber stops Derrick by tapping him.

Derrick stops abruptly and just stares.

"Isn't that....Blake?"He asks.

"I don't think you should be asking that. Irye's here."Amber whispers.

"Oh, my God."Derrick puts his hand on his mouth.

"Where were you?"Irye manages to ask. "I searched all around for you. Do you know how many time times I waited for you?"Her tears fall.

"I waited and waited and sometimes I even thought you'd abondoned me like my mother did."Irye begins to lose her cool. "It drove me crazy when I had to return home without seeing you and I...."

Blake hugs Irye, interrupting her. "Am sorry."

That's all he says. "Am so sorry. I can explain but it'd just sound like excuses and I don't wanna let that happen."

Irye cries in his arms and Amber and Derrick watch.

"I missed you a lot."Irye sniffles.

"I see that."Blake rubs her back.

"So now I think I know the answer to my question."Blake smiles and tightens the hug.

They break from the hug and look each other in the eye. This is just what he wants. To be with the one he loves.

Slowly, he brings his head down. Irye stares back at him while he looks at her lips.

Little by little, he lowers his head and takes her lips. Irye accepts and kisses him back.

The thing she most wanted has just happened. To be with the one she feels for.

It doesn't matter how long the spirit will be with her. It doesn't matter how many people will stare at her. All she needs is her family around her and Blake, her lover.
