Where his heart lies 2

"Will you get married to her?" A lovely female voice asked with sadness laced in her voice but was only met with silence. Holding the blanket that hid her nakedness close to her chest, she supported herself up with her elbows and stared at the handsome man next to her.

"So you are," she said, seeing the passive look on his face.

Aiden stared at the lovely woman who stole his heart a long time ago. Her beautiful brown hair cascaded down her shoulders as her neck was tilted to look at him.

"I have no choice," He said, looking away from her.

"Do you love her?" She asked, causing Aiden to frown deeply.

He held her and brought them to a sitting position, the upper half of their upper body exposed revealing his taut chest and her perky full breast.

"I wouldn't be here in your bed if I loved her," He answered sincerely, staring deeply into her blue eyes. She was the only one he could be this vulnerable with.

"Then do you love me?" She asked with eyes that held hope. She had asked this question on so many occasions and she had only gotten vague answers but she still couldn't give up.

Aiden held her chin and brought their faces closer together before locking their lips in a slow and passion-filled kiss. It was one like never before and the lady felt she would melt into his hands if this continued any longer.

"Does this answer your question?" Aiden asked against her lips.

The lady bit her lips and looked down to hide her smile. She was content with his answer. For now.

"Won't you leave soon, it's almost time for the wedding," Even though she didn't want him to leave, it couldn't be denied that the marriage was happening.

"Without me, there will be no wedding. Anytime I arrive is the time of the wedding," Aiden deadpanned nonchalantly. "Instead of worrying about unimportant things I want to spend this hour with you," He changed the topic, dragging both of them down to the bed with the lady on top of him.

He proceeded to kiss her but she brought her hands to his lips, "I have one last request to make."

"That is?" Aiden asked, staring into her eyes for answers.

"If I can't be your wife, I want to be in your life. Take me with you."

Lily paced around the room with the bottle Denise gave her in her hand. She was already dressed in a simple long lace gown Elena had brought for her. As usual, her face was bare of any makeup.

Since she returned from the market with Sabrina and Elena, she hasn't set eyes on Aziel but that was the least of her problems.

Right now, she was conflicted about what to do with the bottle in her hand. This was the last time she could make it up to Denise for all her shortcomings but the task given to her was such a difficult one for her as the victims have been nothing but kind to her.

After a lot of thinking, she decided. She honestly wouldn't care if all the royal family were to drop dead this instant. She only cared for Elena and Sabrina. She wouldn't forgive herself if any harm comes to them because of her so she decided to go against Denise.

She went to her bag of clothes and wrapped the bottle with one of her clothes so it wouldn't be found by anyone.

Almost immediately, a compelling force consumed her. The force made her nothing less than a puppet to the controlling whispers inside her head. Whispers that reminded her of the task she had to fulfill, of her mother's gruesome death.

With her mind devoid of anything else but Denise's orders, she walked over to where she hid the bottle. She brought the bottle to her face and stared at it emotionlessly and the side of her lips widened in a cynical smile.

Just then, Elena walked in and Lily quickly hid the bottle under her garment.

"Ha!" She breathed out with a nervous chuckle as she cleaned her sweaty hands on her garment. "Is the wedding about to start?"

Elena, who was disoriented with the disappearance of Aiden failed to notice Lily's odd behavior.

"Have you seen Aziel?" Elena quickly cut to the chase. She tried to be as calm as ever but her worried face gave her out.

"Not since yesterday afternoon, is anything the matter?"

"Very well then." Elena pursed her lips and nodded to herself, "See you at the ceremony."

Lily watched as Elena left the room before she slumped into the wooden chair next to her. `That was close` She thought as she breathed out the air she didn't know she was holding.

Once more a pang of guilt flashed through her but it was quickly replaced by the thought of her mother's death.

Sizing Elena's behavior earlier, Lily deduced that there was a problem and decided now was the perfect time to carry out her task as no one would pay mind to her.

She cautiously walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen where the meals for the celebration were prepared.

She entered the kitchen which looked busy due to the wedding preparations. Nobody noticed her as they were focused on the work before them.

She scanned the kitchen but couldn't find where the main dish was being prepared. The only thing present was the ingredients being prepped by the servants.

"Excuse me milady, are you lost?" Lily jumped at the voice of the female maid behind her. She was not expecting that and was quite startled.

She turned back and saw the maid bowing towards her making sure to avoid eye contact.

"N-no," Lily stuttered but after giving it a quick thought she said, "I'm actually looking for the head chef, where is he?" Lily asked hoping the maid will let her in on the location of the head chef who definitely will be where the main dish is.

"He is in the private kitchen preparing the main dish." The maid answered, still bowing her head.

Lily frowned. This was not the answer she was looking for. "Can you lead me to the private kitchen? I have a few orders to give him."

"I'm sorry milady but only high-profile people are allowed in the private kitchen."

"Does that mean I'm allowed?" Lily's eyes widened when she saw Aziel walking towards her with a smile.
