"What do you mean by that?".

"You remembered that night, right?".

"Yeah" Kai nodded.

"That night, you kinda did something to her with your chaos and it went into her".

Kai gave Fuji a dirty look.

"You did that in an act of self-defence" Fuji tried to mean no offence.

"Yeah, I did".

"Well...at that moment she got possessed by the chaos which is she's chaos ridden and once a creature is a chaos ridden it becomes invincible.

"All am saying is that Maria is out there and you need to be careful until Botan come to get you".

Kai jerked, he wanted to yell, but suddenly he calmed his voice, "What do you mean to come and get me?, I am fine, you guys should find her".

Kai made to walk away. He stops and turned back to Fuji, "I'll give you a call if I am in danger but allowing you and Botan to drag me around without me having my peace is not what I signed for". Then he finally walked away leaving Fuji.

He looked at his watch, he was almost late for class. And that day, everyone will be grouped with their teammates for the upcoming practical class.

Kai wondered who his teammates will be, nobody will want to be in his team because he was the known guy with no power or rank.

Kai looked at his bracelet and sighed. "At least I got you".

Kai was almost at the door of his class, he heard the teacher calling names.

"Dune Jones, Timmy Starks, Saburou kristigu.

"Ok, that's group 19".

She looked at Kyung Mi who's been standing in front of the class. "I don't have an odd number in my class, the grouping should be equal," She thought.

Kai was already in front of the door when Ollie zipped past him. He rushed into the class and stop.

"Am I late?" He said to himself.

The class went into an uproar.

"Shut up!" Miss Sanae snapped, and then she turned towards Ollie.

"Yes, you're late". She looked at the door and saw Kai standing there like he was paralyzed. "You yeah, come on in" she motioned to Kai.

Immediately Kai walked into the class, murmurs rose.

"The dude with unknown magic, what a jerk".

"Seems they're three already"

"No way, Kyung Mi will be grouped with a loser".

Kyung Mi didn't realize that, but she thought about it immediately. And then she found out that the last group have been called out and she hasn't been grouped so is Kai and Ollie. "What the fuck"

Kai didn't bother about the murmurs but being in the same team with Ollie was a problem cause he couldn't bear listening to him all the time.

Kyung Mi was never his problem, he's sure that he thinks less about her. On the side of Ollie, it was the greatest day of his life, on the same team with Kai and also the Ist level mage representative, Kyung Mi.

"Pipe your horses down" Miss Sanae quieted down the class.

"Ollie...?"

"Ollie walker" Ollie replied sharply

"Kyung Mi and ....?" Miss Sanae motioned Kai to say his name.

"Kai Kikuchi".

"Ok, um, Ollie walker...".

Kai didn't believe it was happening, they were finally going to group them?.

"Kyung Mi..".

Kyung couldn't bear the crowd tagging her along with Kai who is seen as a failure, she's an outstanding student and supposed to be the best. She wondered how they were going to pass the practical test.

"And Kai Kikuchi. You three make up group 20".

There was a wave of turbulence in the class, everyone was talking. It was a commotion.

"I can't believe it, she was grouped with a failure".

"Down the scale goes Kyung Mi".

"Kyung Mi should report to her father, am sure it'll be changed".

"Shut up!" Miss Sanae's voice was ear-splitting.

The class went calm at once.

"Can you three go to your seats, the class is about to start please". The trio went to their seats.

"Now, I shall explain how the practical test will be. First of all y'all know about portholes and teleportation right?".

The class affirmed.

"That's good, many of you that took your studies serious in pre magic school will know about the attack of magical beasts on the Asia continent. It started in China, east China to be precise. A dark mage who converted pets into monsters. So many pets underwent this evolution of magic which turned them into monsters and owners of pets died at the first wave of the attack.

"The government tried to fight them, but it was obvious killing those beasts wouldn't be easy. Numerous towns and cities in East China were destroyed, and survivors were evacuated. These beasts terrorized entire East China.

"We the mages have no other choice than to fight these beasts. It was so effective in the first place but as time comes these beasts undergo an evolution, and most of them could understand and think like humans that's when we knew they were also increasing in rank.

"They became stronger and we have no other option than to retreat but we set a blockage at East China so that they won't spread but unknown to us these magic beasts dispersed to closer countries that share boundaries with east China and attacked them.

"So we were forced to move almost all our mages to fight them and set blockages around them".
