The First Test

The group of young cultivators follows the test examiners, as they enter the sect campus. Their eyes started to wander around, looking at the beautiful path that is beneath them and the large buildings they are walking past. Xia was also no better. He wanted to continue to look at such a sight for the rest of his life.

'Kathako you say the Dragon Couple were 'their' inheritors. What do you mean by that?'

"Of course, none other than this Dragon Couple are the inheritors of Wisdom and War"

'Wisdom and War?'

In front of Xia is a long building with a small arena attach to one of its ends. The sect elder that Xia already forgot the name of(He did not bother to remember it in the first place) started to speak.

"Alright, everyone! This will be the first test in many, the elemental affinity test. Wu Zhihui will be overseeing this test. If you don't have an affinity don't worry about it. I don't have one and I am a sect elder! Now Wu Zhihui you can start"

"Thanks, sect elder"

Zhihui said with a beautiful smile on her hand-crafted face. With beautiful steps, she walks towards the door of the building and opens it up. She walks first into the building, followed by the sect elder, and the other examiners. Follow by the group of young cultivators.

The large and long room is very plain. Having a large pillar in the center of the room, a white line is painted on the floor and wall, dividing the room into two equal halves. Inside this pillar is a colorless see-through crystal ball. Zhihui and the other examiners walk to one side of the room. Zhihui stands next to the pillar while the other examiners leave the room. Only the elder and Zhihui stay behind.

"Alright, this should be relatively easy for all of you. I will call your name and then you will come here and touch the ball and infuse your Qi into it. After that, I will tell you your affinity and you will be allowed to go to the next room. Any questions?"

"No!"

"Good~"

Zhihui said with a soft smile as she started to call names. One by one the young cultivators touch the crystal ball and infuse their Qi into it. Different color light will come from the crystal ball as Zhihui reads out the affinity and allows the young cultivator to walk to the next test.

"What!? No affinity!? This thing must be faulty!"

A young male cultivator screams his heart outs as he looks at Zhihui. Her bored and half close eyes pierce through the young master.

"It has worked so far, why would it break now? When it's your turn?"

"I- Cleary you are against me for some reason! I know I have an affinity for the heavenly elements! I am the young lord of-"

"Dude I could care less about who young lord you are. You have no elemental affinity and that is it. Now go to the other test before I lost my patience."

Zhihui words turn ice cold as lighting sparks started to appear around her.

"How da-"

"I won't repeat myself again, go to the next test or I will make it that you won't pass. Understand?"

Zhihui said as stumped her feet on the ground, as metal spikes appear from the ground and aim their sharp point at the male cultivator's neck. A cold sweat overcame the male cultivator as he nodded his head softly. Not wanting to move too much for fear of getting his neck stabbed.

"Good~ now leave"

Zhihui made the metal spikes disappear as she let the male cultivator leave.

"Alright sorry for that guy. Next up is Bai Wei. Please step forward"

Bai Wei steps forward and walks toward the crystal ball. With brown color hair and green eyes, she is one of the oldest applicants in this group. The free city of Quhai did not have enough resources for her entire family. While not really a problem for those that don't really care about cultivation.

If you want to continue down this road of cultivation you need to join a big sect. She arrives in front of the crystal ball and touches it. Infusing her Qi into it. The crystal ball started to glow with multiple colors, and which each passing second as she pours more Qi the colors start to die down. The only color that is left is yellow.

"Congratulations, you have an affinity for the heavenly element of Lighting. You may go to the next room"

Wei nodded her head; she already knew her talent as she tested it years ago. She started to walk towards the next room. Not believing that in one year the warrior stage cultivator that participated in the Foundation Tournament reached the commander stage.

'This sect must have supper strong resources for such a thing to happen

Wei thought to herself, still a bit naïve of the true talents Zhihui has. Zhihui continue to call names as soon Xia's turn came. Walking out of the group he makes his way toward the crystal ball.

"Alright kiddo! No need to be nervous! I have already shared my elemental affinity with you"

'I know, but still, something could go wrong

Xia said to the ghost inside his head as he presses his shaking hand on the crystal ball. Infusing his Qi into it, like before multiple color lights came from the ball. But for each second he put more Qi into it, fewer colors started to come from the crystal ball.

Soon two colors remain. One soft red and another a heavy gray. A Gasp of air came from the crowd of people. As Zhihui spoke.

"Excellent, you have an affinity to the earthy element of fire and the heavenly element of metal. You may go to the second test"

"Thank you"

Xia said to both Zhihui and Kathako, as he walks towards the next room for the next test.

"You are welcome kiddo"
