As Queen Harlow Matilda exited her chamber, both maids and soldiers bowed their heads in greeting.
Queen Matilda isn't interested in Lorcan right now. She went straight to the castle dungeon, where she had imprisoned the man who was one of those attempting to adopt her.
When she arrived, she was greeted immediately by the man's cry. The healthy man she had locked up is now skinny and appears to be lifeless. "Your Majesty," The guards in charge immediately greet her with a slight bow of their head.
As she continues, she nods in response to their greeting.
Her guards are all aware that keeping a prisoner in the dungeon for too long will result in blindness. A castle dungeon is a dangerous place where no man should be, and there are different types of dungeons within the castle.
The man who Queen Matilda imprisoned yesterday was placed in a dungeon that did not contain any harmful object, so the man considers himself fortunate.
He still had to beg the Queen because he had been in complete darkness all day yesterday.
A dungeon is a place that is surrounded by endless darkness.
Currently. The guards have placed the man in a cell made of iron from one end to the other.
He's covered in dirt, and the arm Queen Matilda sliced through is swollen because his wounds aren't being treated. "Greetings, Your Majesty." The prisoner greeted the Queen. "Plea… Please spare my life." He pleaded as he knelt on his knees, both hands clasped together.
The Queen scuffed. "Why should I?"
"Your Majesty. I… I have a family to look after, I'm married, and I can't abandon my family like that." The young man's plea grew louder.
She grins. "You should have considered that before attempting to capture the Queen of Domansidor's kingdom." Matilda spat in a cold voice, causing the lifeless man to shiver in complete fear.
Queen Matilda squatted and grabbed the man's chin, forcing him to glare at her. "You have really beautiful eyes." She complimented him, which made him shiver even more. "Where are your relatives? I would be happy to do you the honor of inviting them to the castle field where you would face your fate." She said, making each word feel so cold that the man forgot to breathe out.
After a few seconds, he blinks his eyelashes several times as another stream of tears falls from his eye. "Your Majesty. I had no intention… I have no intention of causing you any harm. I was simply following orders because my family needed money, but Prince Alfonso Albert promised me a fortune and... I'm so sorry, your majesty. Please spare me for betraying you with a stranger from another Kingdom." He cried both hands clasped together, attempting to force his head out of the cage.
The Queen smiles as she rises from where she had been squatting. She was about to turn around and walk away from him when he grabbed her by the leg.
He grabbed her legs, and her guards all pulled their swords from their scabbards, ready to strike him. The Queen motioned for them not to do anything as she slowly turned around to stare at him, her brows slightly arched.
The young man immediately realizes he has committed a great sin and withdraws his hands. "Arrh... Your Majesty, I have committed more than a mortal sin. I am deserving of death." He screamed his head on the floor, and likewise both hands.
As she smiled, Queen Matilda raised her chin slightly.
Her smile was not genuine; it represented something bad and dangerous. "What you've just done is far beyond a mortal sin, and I'll grant you your wish." Her words trailed off as the young man raised his head to meet her gaze. "I'll execute you." Queen Matilda gave him a roguish smile as she added in a serious cold voice.
She walked away ignoring the man's plea, as she headed towards the dungeon where her sister was imprisoned.
While on her way there, she noticed that another castle cell was filled up, which means Queen Matilda still has a lot of people she hadn't killed.
Queen Harlow Matilda arrived at the dungeon where Princess Ivy was imprisoned.
The guards in charge had already brought Princess Ivy out, and they had locked both Princess Ivy and Prince Alfonso Albert in an iron cell.
As she stands in front of the cell, Queen Matilda smiles. "Are you both having a good time?" Her gaze was expressionless as she questioned.
The Queen's younger sister scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Are we having fun? We are, of course. So you're going to behead us? Don't tell me you're going to behead your flesh and blood." Said Princess Ivy.
She sounded confident that she would not die at the hands of her sister. "I believe you forgot that I had burned and buried my flesh and blood. Your parents were killed by me." Queen Matilda said, reminding her sister of her cruelty.
Princess Ivy shook her head from side to side. "You are truly heartless." She paused before squeezing her lips between the spaced iron and she spat on the Queen.
Matilda's face was covered in Princess Ivy's saliva.
Queen Matilda closes her eyes and tries to control her rage. "Well done, Princess Ivy." Prince Albert, who had been silent for some time, declares.
The Queen guards handed her a napkin, which she used to wipe the spit from her face.
Queen Matilda smiled as she handed the napkin back to one of her guards. She squats, completely enthralled by Princess Ivy. "Ivy, my dear. You had a wonderful soul, but it's too bad you sold your soul to the devil." Queen Matilda spoke while her lips curved into a smile.
Princess Ivy rolled her eyes while licking her lower lips. "Are you my real sister?" Queen Matilda ignored her question. "You are both a beast and a demo..."
Queen Matilda grabbed Princess Ivy's chin, preventing her from completing her statement.
Princess Ivy was caught off guard because she had not anticipated the Queen's moves.
Prince Albert had closed the gap between Ivy and the Queen and was about to pull Ivy away from the Queen when swords from various angles were thrust toward his neck.
Prince Albert became immobile immediately because he did not want to be killed.
Queen Matilda returns her gaze to Princess Ivy, a smile still on her face. "You were my sister, but the moment you thought negatively about me, you became my enemy." The Queen said this without emotion.
"Are you going to kill me because I've become your adversary?" Ivy inquiry.
Queen Matilda found it difficult to keep repeating herself, but because Ivy is her sister, she had no choice but to respond to Ivy's question.
Besides, this will be the last time Queen Matilda will speak with Ivy, so she wants to keep a small memory of her sister with her.
Matilda's birth mother, the late Queen, has left Matilda to look after Princess Ivy. Princess Ivy is under Matilda's care, but she has no choice but to make her parents hate her even more. She has done many cruel things, and her late parents will not be proud of her, wherever they are.
Queen Matilda responded to her sister's question with a solemn expression. "I'm going to murder you, Princess Ivy, and I want you to remember my face so you can resent me after death." The Queen coldly declared.
Ivy shakes her head from side to side. "I had no idea I had a psychopath for a sister. Well. I will not hesitate to resent you in the afterlife, and I promise to kill you in my next life." Ivy stated with a determined voice.
Queen Matilda is not the type to let others insult her, but she had no choice but to let Ivy be. Besides, Princess Ivy is going to die anyway, and Queen Matilda does not want to kill Ivy in the cell, but rather in the field, where all her subjects will be present to witness her beheading her sister.
Queen Matilda stood up from where she was squatting. "Do kill me in my next life, but not in the one you're currently living..." She paused for a moment to stare at Ivy. "I'm destined to kill you in this life." Queen Harlow Matilda remarked sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
She was about to walk away when Prince Albert called her. "Your Majesty," he said, causing the Queen to come to a halt and slowly turn around to face the young Prince.
Despite being inside the cage, he still appears attractive, even with his hair unkempt. "Would you kindly spare my life, your Majesty?" With a calm voice, Prince Albert inquired.
"Why should I?" She asked a question in response to his question.
Queen Matilda was expecting her sister Ivy to beg her to spare her life, but Ivy did not. Ivy, like everyone else, began referring to the Queen as a ruthless beast.
With an apologetic expression on his face, Prince Albert falls to his knees. "Princess Ivy seduced me, and she's the one who suggested we kidnap and murder you. I had no intention of participating in the mission, but because I have feelings for her, I decided to give it a shot." Prince Alfonso Albert elaborated.
Queen Matilda nods and smiles warmly at him. "You're a jerk. Did I seduce you? How? When? And why would I even try to seduce you? You are the one who initiated the plan, and you promised to marry me, so I told you the Queen's weak point because I love you." Ivy stated as she attempted to defend herself.
"How can you boldly claim that I initiated the..."
Queen Matilda didn't have time to listen to them all day, so she excused herself, giving them the space they needed to continue arguing.
Outside the cell were seven soldiers who, despite her personality, admired Queen Matilda. "Your Majesty," They all bowed their heads in unison as they greeted her.
Her gaze is drawn to her eunuch, who is currently standing beside her. "Go and inform the town crier to notify all my subjects to be present at the castle field before the sun sets, and that is the Queen's order." The Queen declared.
Queen Matilda's eunuch nods his head, and he proceeds to deliver the Queen's order.
She was still walking towards the castle training grounds when she came across a group of maids. "Your Majesty," They all greeted her with a slight bow of the head.
Queen Matilda nodded slightly and turned to walk away when she noticed Harvey Lorcan amid those maids. "You!" The Queen exclaims, pointing her index finger at him, and she immediately stops walking.
Lorcan bites his bottom lip. "Your Majesty," he said with a terrified voice.
The Queen scuffed as she closed the gap between them. Lorcan is still wearing the clothes he wore yesterday, and his entire body is covered in dirt. "You stole my mattress," She utters vehemently.
"Your Majesty. The mattress is hung outside to remove a commoner's odor." Lorcan explains.
She encircled him, and the other maids around him became terrified. "Little lamp." She called out before approaching him.
"I discovered that something is missing in my chamber, and you know what happens if you steal from me, right?" Queen Matilda asked with a deadly stare, and her statement rang like a bomb to everyone, because they are all aware of what happens to those who steal from the Queen.
