Chapter 39

Alex's POV

"Holy Fucking Shit!" I yelled out as I woke up in my room, Alexis was sitting at the foot of my bed, so I started explaining what I say.

"Well, it sounds like your mate fell, harder than you could've ever guessed. Now he's hungry and just wants a sammich. What's your move?"

"Leave him be? I'll just go about my day as usual and then later tonight see if he's free to meet up in Arizona."

"I thought he hated Arizona, you know because of how hot it is over there."

"Well, yes but actually no, he doesn't mind the place but there are some bad memories from there and he'd rather stay here."

"Sounds like a plan to me, let's do it."

Jake's POV

"YOU'RE MINE, NOW YOU LITTLE FUCKER!" I yelled out waking up from a nightmare, fortunately enough Jack was already awake, and brought me a Lucifer's Cola.

"Sleep okay?"

"I-i don't know. Like I know what I saw, I know what the nightmare was but I can't comprehend it."

"Lemme see," He said and we fused, he took a look around, poked and prodded like testing a prized cow for pain, "Everything looks fine, what did you see in your nightmare?"

"Him. It was the same nightmare from when we first met, but it was worse, it felt so genuine. What happened?!"

"It sounds like you had another nightmare, where was Alex?"

"She wasn't there, it was just him, laughing maniacally as he used me, over and over," I said, not realizing my hands were shaky, and Jack could see that.

"I get it, dude, trust. Having to witness how you almost died for 8 hours must've been terrifying," He said and sat beside me, he knew I didn't need to fuse yet, I just needed time to relax, maybe a smoke.

"Hey man, ya wanna smoke?"

"Maybe, last time we smoked I didn't sleep for like 3 days, man Nah," I said laughing, as Jack passed the swisher, lit it for me and I took a drag.

"Remember man, when you're with me, you're always safe. We don't get separated easily, but when we do..."

"Shit. Is about to get real?!" I said, coughing and laughing, wheezing and gasping through the pain.

"I told you, not to do that my man, now pass it here," He said as I passed him the swisher, he took the meanest drag I'd ever seen, and it didn't phase him in the slightest. He stood up, exhaled, and when I tell you this. I mean every damn word.

"You just blew fire, and you ain't even rapping," I said as I got up, and we fused back together, one and the same, birds of a feather.

Alexis' POV

I heard two grown men dying, and came rushing towards where they were, but they were throwing up all kinds of shit. Fear overtook me as I woke up, and realized that it was just a dream, but reality sunk in and as Alex left her room, I tapped her shoulder.

"Your mate is going to smoke, and there is no one in this world or the next who can save you if you piss Jack off. Are you going to be Okay, waiting until 9 to see him again?"

"If he's happy, I'll be okay, I'm going to make sure that I get my work done for the day, and then when it's 9, I'm gunning for him."

"Good, you're going to make for a phenomenal Alpha, and an even better life partner."

Jacke's POV

We walked downstairs to see everyone was already up and hard at work, apparently, they already got the memo, so we didn't have to say shit to 'em but it always helps to give the people what they want.

"Hey guys, we just got done with the smoke, how's everybody crackalackin? And yes, this is a JoJo Reference," We said, as we paused the music running in our headphones, they caught ours.

"Well hello to you too, Mister 'I don't and Do need sleep', how'd you guys sleep?"

"Split, Jake hated it but I slept like a fucking rock, overall, I'd say we're pretty good," We said as we made our way to the kitchen. Nicki followed in after, thermometer in hand, and confirmed with a smile on her face that we weren't sick, just fine.

"So, when are y'all going to go see Alex?"

"Tonight, sometime around 9 pm, She and Alexis are going to be looking for us, but we're also going to be looking for them in turn."

"So, basically y'all got until 9 pm, have fun throughout the day, and then determine what you're going to do with them tonight?"

"Yeah, that about sums it up," We said as we got our food from the fridge, we got some pizza rolls, ate 'em in a couple of minutes, then decided to get a Sammich.

"Hey, Nicki, you got a $20?"

"Yeah...why?"

"We, want to get a GoodCents Sub."

"Aren't you supposed to be the crime boss here?"

"I am, but I'm curious if you still trust me," We said, taking a sip of soda and turning back to face her, she placed a 20 on the counter and left without a word.

"Thank You, Nickii."

"Y'all are lucky, I gotta go wake up the bear," She said, sticking her tongue out, we knew what she meant and we weren't going to change it so we just left and got in our car.
