Part 1

Xander's POV

I ran after him.

But the little fucker kept running through every corner he could find causing me to lose my focus at times.

I'm just glad I had continuously been training in the gym so my stamina was good.

And luckily I was right on his tail.

This time, one of her men were not going to get away.

He finally stopped at a dead end and I caught up to him.

His eyes ran across the wall in front of me realising he had nowhere to go.

He quickly turned before around and I tackled him to the ground.

I looked behind me to see the other officers rushing in with their guns out ready to shook if he didn't comply.

I looked at the disgusting criminal under me as he struggled against my grip on him.

I scanned his body.

He had a slash on his cheek which seemed fresh.

His eyes were frightened causing me to tilt my head in confusion.

It was rare to see her men scared.

She usually picked out the best of the best.

He suddenly let one of his arms free and tried to punch me but I dodged it and beat him to it.

My fist harshly connected with his cheek causing the previous cut to open.

He immediately groaned as his head hit the ground incredibly hard and a few seconds later, he had lost consciousness.

I let out a sigh before throwing his over my shoulder.

"You okay?" I heard an officer behind me ask and I nodded without turning my head towards them.

I was angry but I didn't want to show them that.

I had enough warning about my anger and I didn't want to lose this case I had been working on for years because of it.

Because of her.

She kept sending these criminals over and over again to stop me from arresting her.

But she and I know that I will find her eventually even if it been a year trying too.

She will know it.

That she will be behind bars before she knows it.

Even if it's over my dead body.

I dragged her crew member and took him into St' Mishor's jail.

It was the only jail located in my town, Riverside.

I moved here when I was 10 because of reasons I don't want to say.

But there were a lot of crimes that happened in this town that would either go unnoticed or they wouldn't be able to the criminal in time.

And that's why I wanted to be a police officer.

Because I was tired of all the shit that happened.

I was tired of the people that killed other innocent people.

Innocent ones who were someone's child, parent, cousin, aunt, uncle.

Once you kill, even if it's a bad person, it's like you've killed something inside of their families.

I went into the questioning room setting him down onto the chair.

I looked to see if he was still unconscious causing me to grit my teeth.

He unfortunately was.

I watched as his head slumped to his shoulders.

His face dripping with blood causing me to look away in disgust.

A person's got a limit for the number of times they are able to see blood without being sick.

I'm close to crossing it.

I'm surprised I haven't lost it yet.

Well really lost it.

Half an hour in and I groaned as my impatience started to wear thin.

Suddenly an officer had come with a glass of water and he placed it on the table before nodding at me and walking out.

It was for him when he woke up.

He probably was dehydrated by the goose chase he had created for us.

More experience gained for us I guess.

I gripped onto the cup of water before throwing it at that piece of shit.

He immediately woke up.

His expression turned into fear as he struggled against the cuffs placed on his wrists but after a couple of seconds, he noticed me and became calmer.

Why?

"Have a good sleep did we?" I asked rhetorically.

I expected him to answer but instead, he shook his head trying to get the water out of his hair.

"Don't get too serious will ya and the names Jeremy" He laughed laying his head back and I clenched my fists ready to knock him out again.

If my words aren't taken seriously, then my actions will do just fine.

"FUCK YOU AND TELL ME WHERE SHE IS?" I snapped at him and he continued to laugh causing me to stomp my hands onto the table.

His cheek stopped bleeding and instead it turned dry stopping at his neck.

I glanced behind me to see an officer peek through, probably checking out my anger.

I groaned, taking a step back. "Where is she?" I asked once again, a little calmer this time.

He tilts his head at me. "Well let's just say in a very dark place, waiting for you," he said with a smirk causing me to tilt my head in confusion.

I clenched my jaw. "What do you mean by waiting for me?" I asked leaning away from him as I felt goosebumps run along my arms.

Was she expecting me or something?

"Well you're gonna find out soon but if you want some type of survival, you better stop trying to find her and just give up because she can never be found" he sternly said as his smirk disappeared and I looked down in confusion.

I knew what she could do to people.

But the people she does it too, I can't even find enough reasons against it.

Except for the fact that it's wrong.

Whether they were all shit people, they were still someone's dad, aunt, cousin.

She can't go around killing every single criminal she can find.

"How about no and go fuck yourself" I scowled and he let out a sickly chuckle knowing he had gotten under my skin.

"Take him to his cell" I snapped at Officer James and Cameron, as I knew Jeremy wasn't gonna give any more information.

She was good at picking her men

I looked at the 2 officers as they nodded quickly with fear written on their faces.

They harshly grabbed him and took him away not peeking a glance at me.

I didn't blame them for that.

I mean I do get a little scary when I get pissed off and this wasn't the first time.

I let out a sigh of frustration and walked outside to my car knowing I didn't have anything else left to do.

I don't get what she is doing to me.

This is the only case I couldn't finish.

Her case.

I'm scared that I'll lose my job bye her which is probably what she wants.

It's just like a maze.

You think you're getting closer to the end but you find yourself stuck between the walls with multiple routes to go.

But I'm gonna find the end.
